Press Statement of Kim Yo Jong, Vice Department Director of C.C., WPK
Pyongyang, June 4 (KCNA) -- Kim Yo Jong, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), issued the following press statement on Saturday:
The UNSC held a meeting to take up the DPRK's right to satellite launching as a single agenda item at the U.S. gangster-like request. As a result, it produced another shameful record of working as a political appendage of an individual country.
The UNSC have held more than 9 000 official meetings since its establishment, but this time it called a meeting to take issue with a sovereign state's right to space development quite different from aggression and war, major threats to the international peace and security. This should be regarded as an insult to and serious distortion of the spirit of the UN Charter and as a deliberate delinquency in the genuine mission of the organization.
It is today's universal reality that over 5 000 satellites with various aims and missions are now in their orbits around the Earth and even private companies are taking an active part in the space development.
This being a hard reality, the UNSC is continuously taking discriminative and rude action to take issue with only the launch of a satellite by the DPRK, a full-fledged member of the UN.
I am very unpleased that the UNSC so often calls to account the DPRK's exercise of its rights as a sovereign state at the request of the U.S., and bitterly condemn and reject it as the most unfair and biased act of interfering in its internal affairs and violating its sovereignty.
To make the UNSC take up the DPRK's exercise of its legal rights as a sovereign state precisely means the undisguised disregard for and violation of the DPRK's sovereignty.
Without considering the changed security situation of the Korean Peninsula, the UNSC is trying to unilaterally deprive the DPRK of its sovereignty and rights to existence and development, blindly following the articles of the illegal and unfair anti-DPRK "sanctions resolutions" cooked up 10-odd years ago. This is a very dangerous act as it can cause serious imbalance of power in the region and the structural damage of the peace and stability.
If the UNSC thinks the unbalanced situation, in which one side suffers only and the other side bullies it collectively, will continue prevailing, the UNSC is just mistaken.
If the UNSC persists in its unfair and prejudiced anti-DPRK action, it should give a responsible answer to whether it is capable of defusing the ensuing serious instability of the situation and guaranteeing the security of the regional countries.
Some countries joining the U.S. racket of denouncing the DPRK are unconditionally dancing to the tune of the U.S. without any ground. Their acts are a sight to see
As for those countries, they have neither reason nor ground to stand up against the DPRK in the light of their security interests and there is no need for them to be concerned about the military reconnaissance satellite of the DPRK.
If those countries think that it is beneficial to them to be at the U.S. beck and call, I'd like to remind them that there is a way of exalting their national prestige and guaranteeing their security without standing on the U.S. side and there exist not a few independent countries applying the way.
I'd like to make it clear once again that the launch of a military reconnaissance satellite by the DPRK is a legal countermeasure to cope with the U.S. and its vassal forces' military threats that have already crossed the red line, and an exercise of the right to self defense aimed at safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity.
More than 6 100 days have passed since the first anti-DPRK "sanctions resolution", a product of the hostile policy of the U.S. and its vassal forces towards the DPRK, was fabricated 17 years ago. During this period the DPRK has never recognized the illegal "sanctions resolutions" against it and it will remain unchanged in such stand - no matter that such "sanctions resolutions" continue to be cooked up.
Regardless of the instinctive reflex action of the UNSC against the DPRK's exercise of its sovereign right, the DPRK will continue to take proactive measures to exercise all the lawful rights of a sovereign state, including the one to military reconnaissance satellite launch.
Peace and security in the Korean Peninsula is guaranteed by the powerful self-defence capability of the DPRK, not by the resolution invented by the "political tool" of the U.S.
The DPRK will consistently make strong responses and do what it should do nonstop until the U.S. and its vassal forces feel bored and admit that they made a wrong choice.
Press Statement of Director General for Int'l Organizations of DPRK Foreign Ministry
Pyongyang, June 2 (KCNA) -- Jo Chol Su, director general of the Department of International Organizations of the Foreign Ministry of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, made public the following press statement on Friday:
I strongly protest against the "statement" issued by the UN secretary-general denouncing the DPRK's launch of military reconnaissance satellite and resolutely condemn and reject his improper behavior of encroaching upon the legitimate sovereign right of a member state of the UN as an extremely unfair and unbalanced act of interfering in its internal affairs.
The equality of sovereignty, respect for sovereignty and non-interference in internal affairs are the basis of the establishment of the UN as well as the basic spirit of the UN Charter.
If UN Secretary-General Guterres eagerly regards the expression of his stand on the DPRK's satellite launch as his duty, he should first learn how to equally treat the 190-odd UN member states in conformity with his duty stipulated in the UN Charter, and properly explain the reason why he doesn't take issue with other countries' satellite launch but only blames the DPRK for launching satellite.
In case the UN secretary-general has his own convincing ground or reason, separately from the non-commonsensible and far-fetched assertion of the U.S. and its followers that the DPRK's satellite launch is contrary to the "resolutions" of the UN Security Council because it uses ballistic missile technology, I am ready to patiently listen to what he says.
But in view of the unbalanced and prejudiced stand and attitude Secretary-General Guterres has shown so far in regard to the issue of the Korean peninsula, I never expect that he would make an answer to satisfy the questions of the DPRK and the international community.
The UNSC "sanction resolutions" against the DPRK that ban the legitimate right of an individual member state of the UN to develop space are nothing but illegal documents wantonly violating the UN Charter and other international laws as they are a product of the U.S. and its followers' hostile policy toward the DPRK aimed to deprive it of its sovereignty and rights to existence and development.
The DPRK's launch of military reconnaissance satellite is a logical and legitimate response to the undisguised military threat of the U.S. and its allies and an exercise of the universal right of a sovereign state to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Nobody is entitled to take issue with this, even though he is the UN secretary-general.
The DPRK will continue to proudly exercise its sovereignty including the launch of military reconnaissance satellite to prove that the UN is not a monopoly of the U.S. and the U.S. high-handed and arbitrary practices and unilateralism can never work on the world.
I think that Secretary-General Guterres should pay bigger attention and energy to the international pending issues that the international community awaits an immediate solution rather than needlessly interfering in the natural exercise of the sovereignty of UN member states.
IMO Reduced into Tool for White House
Pyongyang, June 4 (KCNA) -- Kim Myong Chol, an international affairs analyst of the DPRK, issued the following article "The International Maritime Organization reduced into a tool moving under the control of the White House" on June 4:
The 107th meeting of the Maritime Security Committee of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) on May 31 forcibly adopted a "resolution" branding the DPRK's measures for bolstering up its self-defence capabilities as "violation of UNSC resolution" and "threat to international maritime security", pursuant to the U.S. and its vassal forces' hostile policy toward the DPRK.
It was the first time in the history of IMO to cook up such resolution criticizing the missile launch of an individual country. This goes to prove that IMO has been completely politicized, abandoning its original mission of promoting international cooperation in the field of maritime security.
At the IMO meeting on the day when the DPRK launched a military reconnaissance satellite, the U.S. and its followers postponed all the discussions and forcibly adopted an anti-DPRK "resolution", thus openly revealing their sinister intention to incite international criticism over the DPRK's satellite launch.
The DPRK's measures for bolstering up its military capabilities are an exercise of its sovereign rights for self-defence to protect the security of the country and the people from the ever-more reckless military hostile acts of the U.S. and its vassal forces and to defend the regional peace and stability.
This is a legitimate right of a sovereign state clearly stipulated in the UN Charter and relevant international laws, and an international organization has neither authority nor qualification to say this or that about it.
As for our missile launching activities, our army has conducted the missile test-firing drills in the safest way in thorough consideration of the security of regional countries and in fact, there has been no harm to any country so far.
On the contrary, the world witnessed not a few accidents due to the fall of rockets or missiles launched by Western and other countries.
Moreover, for its recent military reconnaissance satellite launch, the DPRK issued a maritime warning to the Maritime Security Agency of Japan, a regional troubleshooting body, as specified by IMO and also briefed the organization in advance on the period of launch and the impact point of the carrier rocket remains, though it was not obligatory.
What was surprising is that IMO, when receiving our previous notice, said it was not obligatory and then later impudently talked about "violation of the regulations".
I would like to ask the organization that if the remains of satellite carrier rocket launched by the DPRK pose a threat to the maritime security, the debris of rockets launched by the U.S. or south Korea are floating still in the sky like cilia, not dropping into the sea.
Disregarding such simple and clear scientific principle, IMO seeks to violate even the exercise of legitimate rights to self-defence by a sovereign state. This excess of authority makes one regard the organization as an office of the White House rather than an expert body of the UN.
If IMO continues to take an unfair and prejudiced double-dealing attitude in its activities as now, being reduced into a plaything of the U.S., it will surely lose the confidence of the international community and forfeit its existence as an organization whose mission is to guarantee the international maritime security.
It would be good for IMO, which is degrading its international reputation as a prestigious UN expert body under the pressure of the U.S. high-handed and arbitrary practices, not to talk about the DPRK's sovereignty right again for preserving its honor.
As IMO responded to the DPRK's advance notice on its satellite launch with the adoption of an anti-DPRK "resolution", we will regard this as its official manifestation of stand that the DPRK's advance notice is no longer necessary.
In the future, IMO should know and take measures by itself over the period of the DPRK's satellite launch and the impact point of its carrier and be prepared for taking full responsibility for all the consequences to be entailed from it.
It Is Necessary to Heighten Vigilance against NATO's Expansion into Asia-Pacific: International Affairs Analyst of DPRK
Pyongyang, June 2 (KCNA) -- Jong Kyong Chol, an international affairs analyst of the DPRK, released the following article "It is necessary to heighten vigilance against NATO's moves to extend its sphere of influence to the Asia-Pacific region" on Friday:
Recently, the secretary general of NATO let out a load of rubbish about the DPRK's military reconnaissance satellite launch. Lashing out at its projected military satellite launch using ballistic missile technology, he said that it escalates tensions and poses a serious threat to the security in the relevant region and others.
The DPRK's military reconnaissance satellite launch is just a self-defensive measure to cope with the ever more undisguised military threats by the U.S. and its vassal forces in the Asia-Pacific region. It has nothing to do with NATO across continent and ocean.
If NATO feels concern about the DPRK's military reconnaissance satellite launch, it is just a clear revelation of its sinister intention to find itself in the Asia-Pacific region under the pretext of the non-existent "threat from north Korea".
This is not the first time for the secretary general of NATO to recklessly poke his nose into the issue of the Korean peninsula and say this or that about the exercise of the just right to self-defence by a sovereign state.
The extremely interventionist and provocative remarks of the secretary general of NATO are by no means unrelated to the latest moves of NATO which is making repeated appearance in the Asia-Pacific region beyond its operation sphere to stir up concern about conflict and dispute.
The "war chariot" NATO is dashing toward the Asia-Pacific region, not content with bringing a war calamity to Ukraine at the end of its ceaseless eastward advance. Such moves provoke vigilance of regional countries.
In April and June last year, NATO dispatched the chairman of its Military Commission to south Korea and Japan respectively to hold confabs on further strengthening partnership and military cooperation. Late in June, NATO invited Japan, Australia, New Zealand and south Korea to the summit held in Madrid for the first time, in which it called for closer cooperation with its fellow countries in the Indo-Pacific region.
The secretary general of NATO , who made junkets to south Korea and Japan at the outset of this year six years after his last visit, called for united counteraction of the "democratic" countries against the threat by the "authoritarian" countries, asserting that things happening in the region are important to Europe and NATO, and vice versa.
This is a formal statement that NATO will interfere in the issues arising in the Asia-Pacific region in contingency, clearly showing what NATO seeks in its advance toward the region that gets more and more frequent in recent years.
As unanimously commented by the international community, NATO is accelerating its advance toward the region. This is aimed to expand its operation sphere in the light of the present structure of international relations inching close to the "new Cold War", thus turning itself into "global NATO" serving the U.S. strategy for world domination.
NATO, which should have disappeared along with the end of the Cold War, is getting frantic with military intervention in the Asia-Pacific region at the U.S. beck and call. This fact is arousing strong vigilance of regional countries and the international community.
As proven by historical facts, all the places NATO forces set their blood-tainted jackboots on under the berets of "human rights, democracy and peace" were surely torn by internal dispute, war and mass killings.
More serious is the fact that there exist in the region some dishonest forces seeking to catch a fish in the troubled waters of their geopolitical confrontation with the rivals by inviting NATO.
Its typical evidence, including the recently accelerated establishment of missions between NATO, Japan and south Korea and a joint cyber drill, constitutes a danger signal that the military collusion between the aggressor forces in the Atlantic and the Pacific has entered the stage of full-scale implementation.
NATO, the very one that caused the outbreak of a large-scale regional war in the European continent, is bringing a fresh war crisis to the Asia-Pacific region. This should not be overlooked.
The Asia-Pacific region is not a NATO's war playground.
The countries in the region should not forget the history of distress they underwent due to outsiders. And they should see through the extremely dangerous moves of the "war chariot" NATO crazily dashing to the region and the catastrophic consequences to be entailed by it, and maximize their vigilance against it.
Unless NATO stops the moves for war, the independent countries in the Asia-Pacific region will start their action for deterring the war threat with their powerful might.
If NATO continues attempting to violate the sovereignty and security interests of the DPRK, the latter will regard it as the foe to be dealt with like the U.S.
Struggle for Ousting Traitor Yoon Suk Yeol in Regions of Puppets
Pyongyang, June 4 (KCNA) -- Various circles in the regions of puppets are intensifying their struggle to judge traitor Yoon Suk Yeol.
The Pusan joint action for the withdrawal of the U.S. forces held a press conference in Pusan on June 2 where it declared that it would turn out in the struggle to judge traitor Yoon who is escalating the crisis of war.
Calling for a stop to war drills, speakers at the conference said that they should oust Yoon, a war maniac, who is driving the people into the danger of war as a shock brigade of the U.S.
The participants shouted the resignation of the traitor while holding a symbolic ceremony of tearing up a paper reading "Yoon Suk Yeol, a war shock brigade of the U.S. and Japan".
The writers held a press conference in Seoul on June 1 where they denounced traitor Yoon for bringing a crisis to the Korean Peninsula through war drills with the U.S.
Speakers condemned that the U.S., the chief culprit of national division, is instigating the north-south confrontation and demanding the submission to its interests while forcing the triangular military alliance, and that Yoon is running amuck in the van.
617 civic and public organizations held a press conference in Seoul where they vowed not to stand back even a step from the struggle for the resignation of the traitor.
The organizations said that they would turn out in the struggle by inheriting the spirit of the martyrs for democracy who fought for the democratization, human rights, peace and reunification on this land, and surely oust traitor Yoon who is running amuck in the van like "the head of an action corps", not content with acting as a spokesman for the U.S. and Japan.
Civic and public organizations in Kwangju and Taegu held press conferences where they called on everyone to turn out in the struggle for the resignation of Yoon, who is trying to make the masses bullet-shields of the U.S. and Japan and leaving everything of the nation to the tender mercy of the U.S. and Japan.
The construction workers' union under the Confederation of Trade Unions held a rally in Seoul where it said that it would defend its union which Yang Hoe Dong felt pride at the cost of his life and that it would struggle to realize his desire.
Seven organizations, including the "fellowship society for democratic youths and students league" comprising the people who turned out in the movement for democracy from the 1970s to the early 1990s, formed the "emergency situation council for democratic action to check the crisis of war, the ruin of people's living and the dictatorship by prosecution, and went on the struggle for the resignation of the traitor.
They called upon all the generations who have devoted their youth to the movement for democracy to join the ranks of the struggle for checking the dictatorship by prosecution, the ruin of people's living and the crisis of war, shouting "Let the masses unite into one to fight against the dictatorship."
Universities in the area of Seoul, including Seoul National University, Ehwa Woman's University, Sogang University, Tongguk University and Kyonghui University, started the movement for posting wall-papers censuring the criminal acts of traitor Yoon and calling for turning out in the struggle for his resignation, and the movement is expanding across the regions of puppets.
The wall-papers carried the letters reading "We denounce the suppression of the labor union, which drove martyr Yang Hoe Dong to death", "A working person killed himself again", "The death made by the regime, It is not a suicide, but a murder", "Is the future of our students who will become working people safe".
A puppet political expert posted on a website an article titled "The presage of an early collapse of Yoon Suk Yeol regime started".
The expert said that the ruling mode of Yoon is almost 100 percent like that of Park Geun Hye's regime, adding that the only way out for traitor Yoon is the way of traitors Syngman Rhee and Park Geun Hye.
