Press Statement of Spokesperson for DPRK Foreign Ministry
Pyongyang, July 4 (KCNA) -- A
spokesperson for the DPRK Foreign Ministry issued the following press statement
titled "QUAD should stop unilateral coercive act to change the present
position of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea" on July 3:
Recently the U.S. committed another
grave political provocation denying the legitimate sovereign rights of our
state and insisting on "denuclearization" with the QUAD foreign
ministers' meeting as an occasion.
The U.S. hegemonic act of interfering in
the internal affairs of independent sovereign states, stirring up inter-camp
confrontation and creating instability in the international relations by relying
on exclusive minority groups such as QUAD, is acting as a major risk factor
hindering peace and security in the region and the world.
The DPRK Foreign Ministry strongly
denounces and rejects the U.S. malicious act of clearly exposing its invariable
hostile intention against the DPRK, wantonly encroaching upon the dignity and
rights and interests of our state, and expresses serious concern over the
negative consequences to be entailed by it.
It is none other than the U.S. which is
attempting to unilaterally change the existing situation by force or coercive
way in the Asia-Pacific region including the Korean peninsula.
Nothing can change the position of the
Democratic People's Republic of Korea as a nuclear weapons state which has been
permanently fixed by the supreme law of the state and physically proved.
Preaching someone's
"denuclearization" is, indeed, anachronistic, contradictory and, in
fact, self-deceptive for the country concerned which has caused serious losses
to global peace and security through its radical nuclear weapons modernization
and illegal use of military force.
The U.S. attempt to deny the present
position of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is not only the gravest
violation of sovereignty but also a dangerous act of escalating tension which
creates instability in the region and escalates the tension.
It is within the sovereignty peculiar to
our state to take appropriate and reflective countermeasures of the
self-defensive nature against such provocative military actions as the U.S.
moves to strengthen the multilateral military alliance threatening the security
of the region and joint military drills with clear aggressive character.
We will never tolerate the attempt of
the U.S. and its vassal forces to unilaterally change the position of the DPRK
and the current situation on the Korean peninsula. We will continue to make
responsible efforts to ensure peace in the region and the rest of the world,
strictly based on the reality in which the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK is
becoming more undisguised.
Spokesperson for Foreign Ministry of DPRK Gives Answer
Pyongyang, July 4 (KCNA) -- A
spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry of the Democratic People's Republic of
Korea gave the following answer to a question raised by KCNA on July 3 as
regards the fact that the U.S. judicial authorities recently prosecuted DPRK
citizens on the suspicion of a "cyber crime" and put them on a wanted
list:
The recent incident is an absurd smear
campaign and grave violation of sovereignty aimed at tarnishing the image of
our state as it is a continuation of the hostile move of the successive U.S.
administrations that have talked much about the non-existent "cyber
threat" from the DPRK.
The Foreign Ministry of the DPRK
expresses serious concern over the U.S. judicial authorities' provocation which
is threatening and encroaching on the security, rights and interests of our
citizens by fabricating the groundless "cyber" drama, and strongly
denounces and rejects it.
The real threat of creating international
cyberspace instability comes not from the DPRK but from the U.S.
The U.S. has long been posing a constant
threat to the cyber security of the DPRK and other sovereign states by making
cyber space a scene of battle and abusing the cyber issue as a political weapon
to tarnish the image of other countries and impair the exercise of their
legitimate rights.
The Democratic People's Republic of
Korea has the right to take a proper and proportionate countermeasure to
thoroughly protect the security and rights of its citizens from the judicial
enforcement for a sinister political purpose, and to call to strict legal
account the outsiders who took malicious action.
We will never tolerate any hostile act
of the U.S. to encroach upon our state's sovereignty through groundless slander
and illegal application of judicial means but will firmly defend the legitimate
rights and interests of the citizens.
KCNA Report on Completion of Coastal Tourist Resort in Myongsasimni
of Kalma Peninsula
Pyongyang, July 4 (KCNA) -- The Korean
Central News Agency Thursday released a report on the wonderful completion of
Korean-style coastal tourist city, a cultural resort of the people, in
Myongsasimni, a scenic spot in the east coast.
The Wonsan Kalma coastal tourist area is
a precious fruition of the grand plan and wise leadership of the respected
Comrade Kim Jong Un who regards the people's laughter and happiness as a
symbol of the socialist system and the standard of national power assessment
and devotes himself to promoting the people's wellbeing and realizing their
ideal. It is also a gift of love of the motherly Party for the great people
this significant year marking the 80th founding anniversary of the Workers'
Party of Korea, the report said, and went on:
Kim Jong Un
unfolded a grand blueprint for building a world-class cultural resort in the
scenic spot in the east coast.
He had matured a far-reaching plan to
build a cultural recreation ground for the people on scenic and beautiful
beaches from long ago. In his New Year Address for 2018, he set forth the task
for completing the construction of the Wonsan Kalma coastal tourist area in the
shortest time by the concerted efforts of the army and people and took all
measures ranging from forming powerful construction forces to providing
equipment, materials and funds.
He examined thousands of layouts to turn
the area into a magnificent world-class coastal tourist city, the best marine
park boasting of its fascinating appearance and modern beauty.
In the first year of the project, he
visited the construction site three times and organized and commanded the whole
course of the construction of the tourist city from the viewpoint of a
designer, builder and operator
The outstanding leadership of Kim
Jong Un, who is making a long journey of devotion and efforts to provide
our people with the best place of happy life in the world with his noble
outlook on the people, brought about a dramatic change in Myongsasimni, the
scenic spot in the east coast.
The Kalma area was seething from the
beginning of the construction thanks to the strong will and unyielding struggle
of the army and people who turned out in hearty response to the far-reaching
plan and determination of Kim Jong Un to provide the people with quite new
happiness and civilization as soon as possible.
Thanks to the steadfast offensive spirit
of the builders, more than 3 million cubic meters of bedding project, 20-odd
kilometers of roadbed project, waterway project extending 15 kilometers,
building of embankment along coastal promenade, the project for coastal park,
readjustment of 40 hectares of sandy beach, the project for building 170 000
meters of substructure and the framework construction of hundreds of buildings
were completed to newly change the appearance of Myongsasimni in less than one
year.
The edifices in Myongsasimni reflect the
people-first architectural idea of the Party that all the structures to be
built on this land should be created in conformity with our people's emotions
and aesthetic feelings and embody the people's demands and aspirations, and the
level of the rapidly developing Juche architecture.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un
attended the inauguration ceremony of the Wonsan Kalma coastal tourist area on
June 24 and personally cut off the inauguration tape. And he highly appreciated
the building of an eye-opening entity to be recorded as one of the greatest
successes for this year of rounding off the implementation of the decisions of
the Eighth Congress of the WPK.
Saying that the coastal resort should
play a leading role in establishing our tourist culture, he indicated an
important orientation for expanding and developing our style of tourism on a
large scale.
The construction of the Wonsan Kalma
coastal tourist area proved once again the immutable truth that the plan and
determination of the Party Central Committee are a science, practice and
victory, and clearly showed the world how gigantic the level of creation and
civilization we want is.
The Wonsan Kalma coastal tourist area,
which has been magnificently built as a scenic spot of the DPRK and a world's
coastal tourist city along with the great era of Kim Jong Un, will
demonstrate generation after generation the proud name as a 4km-long coast of
joy and optimism where hurrah for the Workers' Party and socialism resounds
forever amid the happy laughter of the people and as a 4km-long stretch of
beach to be crowded with the people.
