Football Match between Missile Administration and Second Economy Commission
Pyongyang,
September 24 (KCNA) -- There took place a football game between the DPRK
Missile Administration and the Second Economy Commission on September 22.
Respected
Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea
and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea,
watched the game.
All
the participants were filled with great excitement and joy to hold a
significant sports and cultural event in the presence of Comrade Kim Jong Un
at a time when they swell with the pride of having received thanks, as a token
of deep trust, from the Party and the government for the precious successes
they have achieved in implementing the Party's line on building up the national
defences through defence science research and production.
Comrade
Kim Jong Un met with leading officials in the munitions industry and
extended warm congratulations and encouragement to the national defence
scientific research group of the Missile Administration, the Second Economy
Commission and all the munitions industrial workers who have devoted themselves
to faithfully upholding the self-reliant defence policy of the WPK with
practical successes.
He
said today's sports game is to appreciate their efforts and express thanks to
them.
Among
the spectators were Pak Jong Chon, vice-chairman of the Central Military
Commission of the WPK, and secretaries of the Central Committee of the WPK.
The
football match was held between Hwasong team of the Missile Administration and
Ponghwa team of the Second Economy Commission.
Comrade
Kim Jong Un expressed his thanks to the group of defence scientists and
technicians and the munitions industrial workers for the contributions they
have made by performing an unprecedented miracle, to be specially recorded in
the history of sacred struggle for modernizing the DPRK's armed forces and
bolstering the war-fighting capability, and clearly proving the matchless
development and absolute superiority of our defence capability. He said that
their patriotism and loyalty and devoted efforts constitute a priceless
contribution, the most invaluable one never to be bartered for anything, in
terms of the security, eternal development and prosperity of the country.
He
called on the defence scientists and technicians and the munitions industrial
workers to further redouble their revolutionary optimism and high spirit and
continuously bring about a series of leaps forward and innovations in
augmenting the national defence capability by their concerted efforts and thus
defend the DPRK's inviolable sovereignty and security, safeguard peace and reliably
guarantee the eternal development of the socialist motherland with the absolute
superiority of strength.
The
two teams, greatly honoured to play the match in front of Comrade Kim Jong
Un, fiercely contended for the glory of their units. Hwasong team beat its
rival 4:1.
A
prize-awarding ceremony was held amid the enthusiastic applause of the
spectators.
All
the participants, who were honoured to have Comrade Kim Jong Un's great
trust and encouragement, made a pledge of loyalty to stay more faithful to the
important historic mission and duty they have assumed before the Party and the
revolution, the country and its people, and consolidate the national defence
capability to be most powerful.
Press Statement of DPRK Foreign Minister
Pyongyang,
September 24 (KCNA) -- Choe Son Hui, foreign minister of the Democratic
People's Republic of Korea, on Thursday released the following press statement
"The DPRK remains unchanged in its will to keep nuclear weapons
forever":
The
U.S., Japan and the ROK fully expressed their anachronistic and confrontational
nature once again to remain invariably hostile to the DPRK by raising the
unrealistic "denuclearization" target.
At
the tripartite talks held on the sideline of the 81st session of the UN General
Assembly, the diplomatic authorities of the U.S., Japan and the ROK made public
a "joint statement", in which they reconfirmed the firm will to
"denuclearize" someone according to the "resolution" of the
UN Security Council.
This
proved once again that no matter how the U.S. and its allies change their
expressions and let loose a string of rhetoric, they do not give up a daydream
about "denuclearization" and can never drop it.
It
is not new that the "denuclearization" issue was discussed at the
meeting of the U.S., Japan and the ROK which have adopted antagonism toward the
DPRK as their state policies, and on the contrary, it would have been surprised
and questionable if there had been no mention about it.
As
the foreign minister of the DPRK, I reaffirm and reconfirm in the strongest
tone of voice the steadfast will of our state to keep nuclear weapons through
all ages, which is irreversible in any case and will remain unchanged forever.
The
strong-arm policy against the DPRK came to failure, and any state or force can
never compel us to withdraw from defending the national sovereignty and the
core interests.
The
coexistence of confrontation and dialogue may be workable for anyone, but they
can never be considerable one for the DPRK.
Steadfast
is our appreciation and stand that nuclear weapons are the core component of
national sovereignty and the most reliable guarantee for defending sovereign
rights that no one can provoke. And the more loudly the U.S. and its allies may
cry out for "denuclearization", the more it will only prove the
validity of our state's just access to nuclear weapons and give a justification
for strengthening them and harden its stand against the U.S. and the enemies.
To
deny the reality is to give up the future.
There
is no change in the fact that the DPRK's position as a nuclear weapons state
will be everlasting as inviolable one in disregard of the hostile forces'
rhetorical assertion, and it is inevitable to reorganize and fix the
geopolitical structure centered on the DPRK with nukes.
Test of Updated 240 mm-Calibre Controlled
Multiple-Launch Rockets Conducted in DPRK
Pyongyang,
September 24 (KCNA) -- Under the artillery and missile forces modernization
plan for attaining the five-year goal of national defence development, the
defence scientific research sector of the DPRK conducted a test of updated 240
mm-calibre controlled multiple-launch rockets on September 22.
The
test was guided by Ko Pyong Hyon, chairman of the Second Economy Commission of
the DPRK.
The
test was overseen by KPA Marshal Pak Jong Chon, vice-chairman of the Central
Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea, Full General Kim Jong Sik,
first vice department director of the Central Committee of the WPK, Full
General Jang Chang Ha, general director of the Missile Administration of the
DPRK, and Major General Yu Chang Son, director of the Artillery Bureau of the
General Staff of the Korean People's Army.
The
autonomous pinpoint guide system was applied to the updated 240 mm-calibre
controlled multiple-launch rockets. The updated rockets are capable of striking
the targets 100 km away in a trajectory flight mode and those 115 km away in a
combined glide mode.
That
day's test proved the hit accuracy and superiority of the range-extended rockets.
The
leading cadres expressed their unanimous view that the development of
range-extended rockets assures them of a significant change in the firepower
readiness along the southern border.
Referring
to the idea of the head of state on giving priority to the development of the
army artillery and missile forces, KPA Marshal Pak Jong Chon stressed the need
to concentrate the deadliest and destructive attack forces on southern border.
Recalling
the idea of the instructions given by the head of state that to constantly
expose the enemy to extreme uneasiness and fear constitutes an important and
decisive part in exercising the war deterrent, he underscored the need to make
the enemy aware of the fact that we have replaced all our armed forces'
long-range strike means with the latest ones at the earliest date.
To
build the most powerful artillery force is our Party's principal defence
building strategy emphasized again at the Second Meeting of the Ninth Central
Military Commission of the WPK, he said, requesting for greater efforts and
activities of the defence science research sector and the munitions industrial
workers to bolster up the military muscle.
