Chairman Kim Jong Il’s Exploits Lauded in Different Countries
Seminars on the exploits of Chairman Kim Jong Il took place in Nepal, Uganda and Australia from June 14 to 16 on the occasion of the 59th anniversary of his start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK).
Speeches were made at the seminars attended by personages of the governments, political parties and organizations and popular masses of those countries.
The general secretary of the Central Committee of the Nepal Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist) said that Leader Kim Jong Il set forth the Juche idea as the only guiding idea of the WPK and built the Party into the leader’s Party both in name and reality. General Secretary Kim Jong Un, who has carried forward the cause of President Kim Il Sung and Leader Kim Jong Il, is developing the WPK into the Party serving the people and the revolutionary and struggling Party.
The participants including personages of the Ugandan National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea, the Ugandan National Executive Committee of the Pan-African Movement and the Uganda-DPRK Friendship Association praised Kim Jong Il’s immortal exploits for Party building.
Personages of the Communist Party of Australia and the Australia-DPRK Association for Friendship and Culture praised General Kim Jong Il as a peerlessly great man and world leader who performed great exploits to be brilliantly recorded in the long history of the Korean revolution.
A congratulatory message to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was adopted at the seminar held in Nepal.
Provoker's Shameful Begging Visit: International Affairs Analyst of DPRK
Pyongyang, June 21 (KCNA) -- Jong Yong Hak, an international affairs analyst of the DPRK, made public the following article "Provoker's Shameful Begging Visit" on June 21:
U.S. Secretary of State Blinken recently visited China, which attracted the attention of the international community.
The U.S., that had talked so often about the "theory of threat from China" and seriously threatened the main interests of China, dispatched its top diplomat to China, calling for "relaxation of relations". This creates a lot of conjecture and comments.
The point of the foreign policy pursued by the present U.S. administration after its inauguration was to control, oppose and isolate China.
From the first day of its assumption of power, the Biden administration in the grip of repugnancy toward the Chinese government had made the pressure and control in an all-round way the point of its policy towards China, deliberately escalated the confrontation, violated the legal development and interests of the Chinese people and attempted in every way to prevent the prosperity of China.
It also described the Communist Party of China as a devil and spoke ill of the "human rights" situation in China. And even the U.S. chief executive committed serious political and military provocation without hesitation by openly suggesting U.S. forces' "military intervention" over the Taiwan issue, the most important of China's main interests.
It is none other than the present U.S. administration that has deliberately escalated the regional tensions while strengthening the anti-China complexes, including QUAD and AUKUS, and seeking to establish a new military bloc consisting of Japan and puppet south Korea.
But now the U.S. is talking about "communication" with China and "removal of the danger from misunderstanding and misjudgment". It is just like a guilty party filing the suit first.
As the saying goes, "The man who made a knot should untie it".
The U.S. made the bilateral relations complicated and created problems. So if it respects the vital interests of China and stops all the hostile acts, the reason for deteriorating the bilateral ties will not exist any longer.
It is the height of the double-dealing and impudence peculiar to the U.S. to provoke first and then talk about the so-called "responsible control over divergence of opinion".
This time, the U.S. secretary of state flew to China to beg for the relaxation of relations, because of the extreme uneasiness that the attempt to press and restrain China may become a boomerang striking a fatal blow to the U.S. economy and that China-U.S. confrontation may trigger off the unprecedented military conflict which can lead to irretrievable disasters.
In a word, the U.S. state secretary's recent junket can never be judged otherwise than a disgraceful begging trip of the provoker admitting the failure of the policy of putting pressure on China.
It is quite natural that China urged the U.S. to stop clamoring about the "theory of threat from China", cancel illegal and unilateral sanctions on China, abandon suppression of China's sci-tech development and not to interfere in the internal affairs of China at will.
If one forgets history, one will repeat the same mistake and if one fails to see reality properly, one will make a bigger mistake.
If the U.S. persists in its moves to seek hegemony and confrontation in international relations, oblivious of the lesson of history, it will never be able to escape from the fate of the loser.
Local Industry Factories in Kimhwa County
It has been a year since modern local industry factories had been built in the town area of Kimhwa County, Kangwon Province.
The county, long known as a barren mountainous area in the province, had poor economic foundations and suffered from damage caused by calamitous torrential rain in 2020.
In October that year the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the county town far from the capital city to give on-spot guidance to the rehabilitation work and learned in detail about the actual conditions of the county’s local industry.
At the Second Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea held in February the following year he put forward a plan to turn all the areas of the country into developed ones preserving their unique characteristics by improving the local economy and led Kimhwa County to set the standards for that.
At major meetings of the Party and state he gave instructions that the modernization project of local industry factories in the county should be accelerated and, based on its experience, technical reconstruction of similar factories in cities and counties all across the country be accomplished as soon as possible to turn out various consumer goods of high quality. And he kept up-to-date with the project and took necessary measures on a preferential basis.
So, in such a short period of only ten months since the groundbreaking, several local industry factories for producing foodstuffs, garments, daily necessities, paper and so on were set up along the Kumsong River flowing through the county town, and that as the standards of local industry, model factories.
Those factories are equipped with production lines to make the maximum and effective use of agricultural produce and forest resources available in the mountains that occupy 80% of the county.
At the time of their inauguration the factories turned out several hundred goods in over 40 kinds, which have increased in number at present.
They are seething with fervent enthusiasm of officials and workers to produce famous goods by stepping up the effort to diversify the goods and steadily improve the quality and thus make a contribution to the improvement of the people’s living standards.
Amid a vigorous drive to raise the level of technical knowledge and skills many workers are involved in the distance education system to prepare themselves scientifically and technically.
Though the county had few special products in the past, goods of the brand bearing the name of the county are being mass-produced at the local industry factories and gaining popularity among not only the people in the county and the province but even those in the capital city of Pyongyang.
Visitors to the county marvel at the modern local industry factories demonstrating the validity and vitality of the WPK’s idea of attaching importance to cities and counties and its line of strengthening them, and are also delighted to see happy county people.
Who Stirred up Refugee Crisis?
In 1951, the United Nations adopted the Convention on the Status of Refugees and obliged all the states to ensure rights of refugees on the basis of the international law. In December 2000, the UNGA designated June 20, 2001 (it would be the 50th anniversary of the conclusion of the Convention on the Status of Refugees) as the World Refugee Day.
Despite efforts of the international community, the issue of enhancing and protecting the status and rights of refugees is getting ever more serious, rather than showing any prospect for solution.
Recently, according to a Greek newspaper, a boat carrying 700~750 refugees from countries like Pakistan, Egypt and Syria turned over in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Greece. Seventy-nine were found dead and a hundred and four were rescued, twenty-five of whom were hospitalized with fever and hypothermia.
Besides, there are still hundreds more stuck in the sunken boat and forty of them are believed to be children. If confirmed, it will be the biggest in the history refugee accident in the Mediterranean.
According to UN organizations, refugees that fled to Italy, Spain, Greece, Malta and Cyprus this year amount to around 72,000.
Analysts insist that, in order to prevent global refugee crisis, the issue must be given an extensive examination, taking into account resolving conflicts, achieving stability, prevention of human trafficking and sustainable economic development.
The refugee issue isn’t something that started only yesterday. Its root is traced back to the double-dealing behavior of the U.S. and the West in their dealing with the refugee crisis and their acts of internal interference, all under the veil of “freedom”, “democracy” and “protection of human rights”.
In order to seize and dominate countries and regions with abundant human and material resources and great economic potential, the U.S. and the West have long interfered in their internal affairs, rearing and instigating pro-U.S. and pro-West forces. They have also incited inter-tribal collision and conflict and consistently created political instability.
The U.S. is seeking to fish in the troubled waters by creating political instability and new hotspots, aggravating regional security crisis and pushing other countries into proxy wars. This is the inhumane, sinister external policy of the U.S. and its jungle-law mode of existence.
It is not a thing of the distant past that countless civilians were reduced to man-made refugees as a result of the so-called “counter-terrorism” perpetrated by the U.S. and the Western countries in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria etc.
The U.S. and the Western countries are the main culprits behind the grave refugee crisis which has been caused by their attempts at domination and overt interference in the internal affairs of other countries under the pretext of “freedom”, “democracy” and “protection of human rights”. Regarding the solution to the refugee crisis, they have at last discarded their veil of “human rights gentlefolk” and are now following the double-dealing practices, consistent with their policy of inveterate racial discrimination.
The core of the recent “Temporary Protection Directive” adopted in self-approbation by the EU as a “historic decision” is to allow European refugees to move freely within the Union and to grant them immediate rights to social welfare, i.e. right to residence, work, public health and education.
This, in fact, is synonymous with differential treatment for refugees from countries and regions outside Europe.
As such, the U.S. and the Western countries are openly abdicating their state responsibility for ensuring the rights of refugees, and due to such shameless behavior, the colored refugees are becoming the targets of all sorts of crimes and mercenary exploitation, plunging them into day-to-day fear of losing their lives any moment.
Such behavior constitutes yet another inhumane conduct of adding new misery and pain to the plight of refugees, the direct victims of political instability and socio-economic crisis created by the U.S. and the West.
The train of refugees will never end in this world as long as the internal interference and double-dealing behavior of the U.S. and the West persist.
