Pyongyang, August 9 (KCNA) -- Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, on August 8 met and congratulated the creative workers and artistes of the National Symphony Orchestra on its 80th founding anniversary.
All the creative workers and artistes of the orchestra were filled with great excitement and joy as they came to realize their greatest desire to have Comrade Kim Jong Un, for whom they yearned so much, at their theatre on the significant founding anniversary.
Comrade Kim Jong Un was courteously greeted at the Moranbong Theatre by officials of the Central Committee of the WPK, Hyon Un Chol, minister of Culture of the DPRK, and leading officials of the National Symphony Orchestra.
When he entered the main lobby of the theatre, the excitement of creative workers and artistes greeting the moment of greatest happiness developed into thunderous cheers.
Comrade Kim Jong Un warmly congratulated all the creative workers and artistes of the National Symphony Orchestra significantly commemorating its founding anniversary with the glory and pride of having made the brilliant history with the beloved country, and had a photo session with them.
He presented a bouquet of congratulation to Ho Mun Yong, a conductor who was honored with Kim Il Sung Prize, and had photos taken with the creative workers and artistes who were honored with high-class state commendations amid the pride of having contributed to the development of Juche-oriented symphony.
All the creative workers and artistes broke into stormy cheers and chanted slogans of loyalty in reflection of their firm resolution to continue to write the pages of honorable development history of Juche-oriented symphony by conducting proactive and enterprising activities for artistic creation, bearing deep in mind the love and trust of the benevolent Marshal Kim Jong Un who sent a letter of congratulations to the orchestra greeting its 80th founding anniversary and repeatedly showed great benevolence.
Comrade Kim Jong Un appreciated that it is the high pride of our Party, state and people to have such an art group with an excellent history and tradition and high creative ability as the National Symphony Orchestra, which has cultivated the flower garden of Juche-oriented musical art, enthusiastically singing revolutionary songs and other musical works as a march for struggle and creation in the development course of our Republic.
The authoritative National Symphony Orchestra should play a role as an engine in developing the musical art, which is as ever strong motivating power for prosperity of our state, he said, adding that when the solemn and characteristic sounds of the works of our own style orchestra give greater impetus to the Korean revolution and lead the heyday of development of the musical art in the new era, our cause will emerge victorious with greater strength and full vitality.
Very high is our Party and people's expectation in the orchestra which has faithfully preserved its original features of patriotic enthusiasm and sincere artistic creation in their pure forms over the past eight decades, he said, and gave precious instructions to be adhered to as a guideline by the orchestra to exalt its prestige and august name as befitting an artistic group of national value that carries on the history of development of Juche-oriented music.

Pyongyang, August 5 (KCNA) -- Kim Yo Jong, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, issued the following press statement "War criminal state Japan's possession of the capability for preemptive attack is a grave threat destroying global peace and security" on August 5:
Japan, a war criminal state, is accelerating its transformation into a war state, taking advantage of the acute and variable trend of the present international situation in which global geopolitical conflicts and inter-camp confrontation are getting fiercer.
Some days ago, Japan conducted a test-fire of Tomahawk long-range cruise missiles loaded on Aegis destroyer Chokai of the Japan Maritime "Self-Defense Force" in the Pacific Ocean.
Earlier, it took part in the U.S.-led joint military drills on the northern coast of Luzon Island, the Philippines in May and committed the launch of offensive missiles outside its territory for the first time after its defeat.
Such military actions prove that Japan's moves to formulate the possession of the capability for preemptive attack through the revision of the "national security strategy" at the end of 2022, contrary to the international law and its constitution which disallowed the possession of war potentials, the right to participate in a war and the right to belligerency, are entering the stage of the actual act.
In March, Japan deployed type 12 surface-to-ship guided missiles with a range of about 1,000 km and type 25 high-speed gliding projectiles flying at supersonic speed at high altitude at the posts of the Ground "Self-Defense Force" in Kumamoto and Shizuoka prefectures respectively, thus opening up the prelude to the possession of the capability for preemptive attack.
Recently, it deployed the launcher of type 12 surface-to-ship guided missiles and a reconnaissance drone for confirming the target position on its island in the Pacific Ocean. It is stepping up the delivery of cruise missiles to be loaded into the "F-35A" fighters of the Air "Self-Defense Force" and planning to develop and introduce an unmanned submarine capable of attacking a warship under the pretext of "tightened defense system in the Pacific Ocean".
The mass possession of different kinds of long-range strike means with an unexpectedness of preemptive attack and a drastic increase in the radius of their operation and their deployment of multi-demesne forward spaces for actual war, including sea, underwater and air, make Japan reorganize its overall armed forces as a formation of preemptive attack and overseas aggression.
Japan has so far behaved as a "peace-loving state" in the international arena, branding neighboring countries' measures for bolstering up their self-defense capabilities as "threat" and "provocation". It is now clear that such moves were, after all, a camouflaged tactic to cover up its ambition for a military giant.
What should not be overlooked is that the U.S. is behind such dangerous military moves of Japan.
It is not a secret that the U.S. has handed over Tomahawk long-range cruise missiles to Japan, remodeled a warship to be used in its operation and provided all conditions and environment for its test-fire including the place of launch.
The U.S. is threatening the strategic space of Russia in Europe by placing NATO in front and violating peace and security in the Middle East. It is also seriously encroaching upon the security interests of the independent countries against imperialism by letting its junior stooges like Japan and the ROK as shock brigade in the Asia-Pacific region.
Japan's military expansion in the Asia-Pacific region, which is being turned into the world's biggest hotspot due to the U.S. exclusive and aggressive foreign policy with its hegemonic maintenance as its ultimate goal, is a dangerous development of the situation that seriously threatens international peace and stability.
Japan has not made public detailed information about the water area it conducted the test-fire, the number of missiles, targets of range and other things, but it is undeniable that it is a long-range weapon test with the DPRK and other neighboring countries in the striking range.
If the descendants of militarism, who have inherited the genes of cunning and aggression, have seized deadly weapons in their hands, something unpleasant will happen.
There is no guarantee that Japan, a war criminal state which has gradually made a political, military and legal footing for reinvasion, while denying and embellishing its history of aggression, will not inflict tragic disaster upon humankind again in case the preemptive attack capability is in its hands.
The international community should heighten vigilance against the reckless military ambition of the descendants of the war criminal state keen on realizing the old daydream of the "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere" with the backing of the U.S. and never open the way to a military giant for Japan.
The voices of denunciation and warning alone cannot cool the wild ambition of the gangs of island country for reinvasion.
One effective way is to make Japan feel that its security has been exposed to greater danger due to its greediness.
We should make it regret.
We will never remain a passive onlooker to the military evolution of Japan which may pose a grave threat to the security of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
I make it clear upon authorization that the armed forces of the DPRK and the military leadership will set up additional military options which are obviously due to Japan's transformation of these days.
