DPRK Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hits at Hostility of U.S. and Its Vassal Forces
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- A spokesperson for the DPRK Foreign Ministry Saturday gave the following answer to a question put by KCNA as regards the fact that the U.S. and its vassal forces openly revealed their hostility towards the DPRK during the recent NATO summit:
During the recent NATO summit, the chief executives of the U.S., Japan and south Korea put their heads together for confrontation with the DPRK and discussed the dangerous joint military countermeasures against it including the launch of tripartite joint military exercises, taking issue with its legitimate exercise of the right to self-defense for no ground.
The U.S. and its vassal forces inserted a hostile expression of finding fault with the DPRK's measure for bolstering its military capability for self-defense in a new "strategic concept" adopted at the NATO summit.
Such anti-DPRK row of the hostile forces synchronizes with the start of the RIMPAC joint military exercises, the U.S.-led multinational naval combined exercises, and south Korea's military lunacy to destroy peace and stability in the Korean peninsula as well as the Asia-Pacific region through the largest-ever scale dispatch of its naval force.
The recent NATO summit more clearly proves that the U.S. pursues a plan to contain Russia and China at the same time by realizing the "militarization" of Europe and forming a military alliance like NATO in the Asia-Pacific region and keeps the U.S.-Japan-south Korea tripartite military alliance as an important means for materializing the plan.
Owing to the reckless military moves of the U.S. and its vassal forces, dangerous situation, in which a nuclear war might break out simultaneously in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region, has been created and the world peace and security came to be placed in the most critical condition after the end of the Cold War.
The reality clearly shows that the real purpose of the U.S. spreading the rumor about "threat from north Korea" is to provide an excuse for attaining military supremacy over the Asia-Pacific region including the Korean Peninsula, and furthermore, the rest of the world.
The prevailing situation more urgently calls for building up the country's defences to actively cope with the rapid aggravation of the security environment of the Korean Peninsula and the rest of the world.
The DPRK will reliably defend the sovereignty and interests of the country and its territory from all sorts of threats caused by the hostile acts of the U.S. and its vassal forces and fulfill its responsible duty to ensure peace and security ln the Korean Peninsula and the region.
Just Steps for Multipolarized World
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- Kim Yu Hyok, a researcher of the DPRK Society for International Political Studies, released the following article:
At a recent international economic forum held in Sankt-Peterburg, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the demise of the era of "Unipolar World" is a law of history.
Denouncing the U.S. and other Western countries for their impudent and brazen-faced act of forcing their ethics on independent countries and violating their sovereignty and territorial integrity, he claimed that the threats imperiling the world at present are entirely attributable to the irresponsible policies of the current U.S. administration and European bureaucrats.
This can be viewed as a correct analysis and assessment of the root cause of the on-going political and economic chaos across the world.
The U.S. and other Western countries work hard to establish a "world order based on their rules" and pressurize other countries to thoroughly observe it.
Specifically, they labeled the DPRK, Russia and China as the main forces challenging the establishment of such "order", and have launched an unprecedented offensive for isolating and stifling those countries.
At the recent NATO summit, they painted a black picture of Russia by terming it "the biggest and direct threat", for its tough stand on the U.S. and other Western countries, declared the criminal arms buildup in the European region and groundlessly accused China of destroying the "international order".
They have placed their "regulations" and "order" above universally accepted international law and forced other countries to abide by them. This is the height of reckless hegemonism pursued by the U.S. and its stooges, which clearly shows how desperately they work to turn the world into the one dominated by their high-handed and arbitrary practices.
The aggressive and hegemonic foreign policy of the U.S. and other Western countries has brought ceaseless confrontation and dispute to different countries and regions, exposing the world peace and stability to graver danger.
The tough countermeasures being taken by Russia against the U.S. and other Western countries are the former's inevitable choice to defend the country's security and people's life from NATO's eastward expansion, undisguised military intervention and unprecedented political and economic pressure, all of which the U.S. and western countries press ahead with. They are also the steps of justice to disrupt the "world order based on the rules" touted by the hegemony seekers.
At present the Russian government more toughly reacts to the hostile forces' moves to establish a "Unipolar World", saying that Russia will grow stronger in the future and everything will not go as intended by the West.
The cause of justice to put an end to dominationism and realize multipolarization of the world is sure to win.
Living Corpse Makes a Spectacle of Himself
With only a few days more to stay in the office, the “special rapporteur” on human rights situation in the DPRK talked nonsense again about the DPRK, inciting confrontation with it.
More dead than alive, his days numbered, he crept into south Korea and sat face to face with the riffraff from the anti-DPRK plot-breeding human rights organization. He, losing control of himself, even picked on our anti-epidemic measure saying it is an “extreme measure”, causing “severe food shortage” etc.
We have never ever recognized the post of “special rapporteur” on human rights situation in the DPRK as it was the pseudo-one fabricated by the U.S. and other impure forces with their inveterate hostility towards us in order to realize their scheme to overthrow our socialist system.
However, I can hardly refrain myself from saying a word as I felt so pathetic and astonished at his wretched and desperate sight, taking his last breath.
The only legacy he left since 2016 as the “special rapporteur” on human rights situation in the DPRK was his deeds of tarnishing the external image of our Republic in the international arena and inciting an atmosphere of confrontation by raking up false data fabricated by the human scums living on leftovers tossed by his master.
It is a well-known fact that he made it an annual event to stage a farce of submitting “report” seriously distorting and slandering the actual situation of our country in UN arena including the UN General Assembly (UNGA) and UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC).
Just to name a few recent examples, he talked at random that “north Korea government should be called to account under the criminal law” by referring its case to the International Criminal Court by the UNSC” and “establishing special court of human rights” while reeling off reckless remarks such as “systematic human rights violation”, “oppression of freedom of expression” and others in the reports submitted to the Third Committee of the 76th Session of the UNGA in October 2021 and to the 49th session of UNHRC in March 2022.
He spent every spare moment to gad about Japan, south Korea and other countries to collect fabricated materials and to launch anti-DPRK defamation campaign. This year alone, he crept into south Korea twice like an alley cat and groundlessly slandered the anti-epidemic measures taken by our state to defend our people’s life security in the face of the global pandemic. These are not all.
On every possible occasion, he ran about with bloodshot eyes to tarnish our image with all sorts of falsehood and fabrication, having interviews with venal mouthpieces and making his appearance at the anti-DPRK “human rights” symposiums hosted by impure forces. We are keeping close tabs on all of them.
He got infamous international nickname as “hand-raised lackey of the West” for chasing after all evil-deeds in the world.
It goes without saying that all his words and deeds were instigated by the U.S.
He visited south Korea again with his term of office expiring in a few days and spoke ill of us maliciously. All these can be viewed as a product of “support” and “return of favor” based on such master-servant relations.
Having lost even the rudimentary power of judgement, falling captive to an extreme prejudice against our state, he is behaving himself in a disgraceful manner to curry favor with his master until the last day of his tenure. It is really a sickening and a pitiful sight.
Truth can never be covered up.
Our country, which upholds the people-first idea as the state policy, gives a top and absolute priority to the rights and interests of the ordinary people. And the people are enjoying a genuine independent human life thanks to the popular policies of “believing in people as in heaven” and “serving for people”.
Even amidst the greatest turmoil unprecedented since the country’s foundation, our people are bursting into tears of thanks and happiness instead of shedding tears of grief and misery, telling legends of love of people every day. Looking at true picture of our people, the world people are unanimously praising invincibility and solidity of our country overflowing with virtue and affection.
If anyone tries to debase our state by fabricating our human rights reality, he or she will live to regret it with a feeling of shame and contempt.

Graphic Manifestation of U.S. Hostile Policy Towards DPRK
Recently, the White House has shown its wicked stand that the U.S. bans the use of anti-personnel mines, except for their continuous use on the Korean peninsula.
This is a graphic manifestation of the U.S. hostile policy towards the DPRK.
The U.S. has long clarified its stand to ban the use of anti-personnel mines. However, each time it treated the Korean peninsula as an exception.
Clinton Administration announced the U.S. policy of banning the use of anti-personnel mines in 1996. Obama Administration did the same in 2009, 2011, 2014 and 2015. But the Korean peninsula was excluded every time. This clearly shows the nature of the U.S. hostile policy and double standard act towards the DPRK which are so deep-rooted and persistent.
The U.S. has no other word to say about the issue of anti-personnel mines.
During the last Korean war, Vietnam war and many other wars, the U.S. used anti-personnel mines in large quantities, and there still remain the mines laid at that time. Because of this, people in those regions are still suffering great pain and misery.
Nevertheless, the U.S. sticks to its guns that it will maintain its policy on the use of anti-personnel mines on the Korean peninsula. This shows that the U.S. does not feel any sense of guilt about its crime against humanity committed on the Korean peninsula and that it will continue to keep the Korean peninsula as the world’s largest powder magazine.
The purpose of the U.S. is to intensify the military pressure upon us and to justify the delivery of armed equipment to south Korea.
Many retired generals of the U.S. armed forces scathingly denounce the policy on anti-personnel mines of the U.S. administration. They say that the U.S. administration was wrong to except the Korean peninsula from the policy on banning the use of anti-personnel mines; no other place is more urgent to remove the mines than the Korean peninsula where tens of thousands of mines are laid; the anti-personnel mines have already lost their military value on the Korean peninsula.
All the above facts vividly show that peace can never be brought to the Korean peninsula unless the U.S. abandons its hostile policy towards the DPRK.
It also offers clear proof that the U.S. claim that “it does not have hostile intent towards the DPRK” and “it wants diplomatic engagement and dialogue without preconditions” is no more than a play on words to deceive the international society.
This time, the U.S. has shown its stand to continuously maintain its hostile policy towards the DPRK. Such being the situation, we will also continue to confront the U.S. with the already announced principle of struggle; power for power and head-on contest.
What is Hidden Behind Crafty Talk?
At the G7 Summit, Japanese prime minister Kishida launched into crafty talks before the international society.
He said Russia is standing at the “crossroads of history”, referring to the “invasion of Ukraine”. He said, with China in his mind, “no country should draw wrong lessons from the Ukrainian situation” and “unilateral attempt to change the status quo by force cannot be tolerated.”
Referring to the DPRK, he repeated his nonsensical talk about CVID saying that the “Ukrainian crisis should not send a wrong signal to north Korea that a chance is given to push ahead with nuclear and missile development.”
What’s more, on the occasion of NATO Summit, he said that “the possibility of another provocation by north Korea is becoming a matter of greater concern” and “there should be a greater synergy to cope with north Korea’s development of ballistic missile”, kowtowing to the U.S., its master.
Japan’s malicious attempt to pick a quarrel with us is a concentrated expression of its inveterate repugnancy towards our Republic and its invariable ambition of invading the Continent.
As the Japanese proverb goes “Tatemae (justification) is different from Honne (real intention)”, it is betraying to the full its cunning nature peculiar to Japan that is to realize its wicked design even though it involves blaming others groundlessly.
Japan is raising the alarm as if its security is in imminent danger citing the Ukraine crisis which is happening far away in the Western hemisphere. What lies thick behind this is its sinister intention to legitimize the arms build-up for realizing the ambition of reinvasion.
It is quite ridiculous that Japan is behaving like an ostrich burying its head in the sand. It is squandering the lion’s share of blood tax of the people on preparation of an aggressive war though it knows it is unwise to do so.
Japan is now showing ill-boding military movements.
Let me give typical examples. Liberal Democratic Party and the far-right conservative forces blew hot air that they would increase the military expenditure to the level of 2% of GDP. Japan has built various offensive battleships. It is busy developing domestic long-range cruise missiles capable of overpowering the opponents preemptively outside the range of fire.
Japan is brazenly naming the newly built battleships after the warships which were sunk in the sea during the aggressive war in the last century. This makes us guess easily without any further explanation where it will head for in the future.
We vividly remember how many innocent people from Asian countries lost their lives and suffered misfortunes and pains, being trampled down under the blood-stained boots of Japanese imperialists in the past.
Today’s Korea is not the one of 100 years before, which was forced to sign the “Ulsa Five-Point Treaty”. And today’s Asia is not the one of yesterday which fell victim to the realization of Japan’s ambition for the “Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere” and was cut into pieces at Japan’s will.
We will never tolerate any moves to infringe upon our independent right.
Japan should ruminate on the miserable end of Japanese militarism which had plunged the Asian continent into the scourge of war for the “Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere”, driving out millions of their people as cannon fodder.
It would be useful for Japan to get rid of its anachronistic way of thinking as soon as possible and make a rational judgement about the reality.
