Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Guides Important Test of Strategic Significance
Pyongyang, December 16 (KCNA) -- Another important test of strategic significance was conducted in the DPRK on Dec. 15 amid the practical successes made by the indomitable will and strenuous efforts of the scientists and technicians in the defence science research field to devotedly attain the important key goals for strengthened national defence capability set by the 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK).
An important institute under the Academy of Defence Science succeeded in the static firing test of high-thrust solid-fuel motor with a thrust of 140tf, the first of its kind in the country, at the Sohae Satellite Launching Ground on the morning of Dec. 15.
Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, guided the important test on the spot.
He was accompanied by Secretary Jo Yong Won and Vice Department Director Kim Jong Sik of the WPK Central Committee.
The aim of this test was to verify all technical specific features of the high-thrust solid-fuel motor based on the thrust vector controlling technology.
The test results scientifically and clearly showed that all the technical indices, including the motor's thrust, specific impulse, combustion feature, duration and thrust vector controlling feature, are equal to the design values, and proved its reliability and stability.
This important test has provided a sure sci-tech guarantee for the development of another new-type strategic weapon system.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un highly praised the Academy of Defence Science for having successfully solved another important problem in carrying out the five priority tasks facing the strategic weapon field under the five-year plan for the development of defence science and weapon systems set forth by the 8th Party Congress. And he gave warm encouragement to its scientists and technicians, expressing the expectation that another new-type strategic weapon would be made in the shortest span of time.
Encouraged by his deep trust, all the defence scientists hardened their will to carry into practice the plan of the Party Central Committee by holding fast to another reliable greatest strength as soon as possible with the pride and confidence that they made a mighty creation by their own efforts and technology.
Always for the People
Chairman Kim Jong Il (February 16, 1942-December 17, 2011) worked heart and soul for the good of the people throughout all his life.
On December 9, Juche 87 (1998) when the year was drawing to a close, Kim Jong Il sat together with officials and said quietly looking back upon the year: I am on my field guidance trip to the Korean People’s Army units, industrial establishments and several other sectors almost every day for the happiness of the people. I have not slept conveniently any single day as I was always on field guidance trip. I have only a short nap in my car during my field guidance trip. As I am accustomed to living this way, I feel inconvenient when I sleep on the bed. Having a nap in the car is the best sleep and rest for me, and that is all I have as rest.
I have never thought this to be a hardship, but rather feel great pride and worth of life in it. Though I work foregoing adequate sleep and meals, I feel relieved of my fatigue and refreshed when I am told that the people’s living has improved. If they really want to please me, officials should do as many good deeds as possible for the people.
Years ago, the Amnok River overflowed due to heavy rains and, to make matters worse, the rising surface of seawater flowed back to the river, flooding the Sinuiju area in North Phyongan Province.
Such being the situation, Kim Jong Il dispatched units of the KPA and corps of the Air Force to rescue flood victims and took measures for the state and nation to aid them as they had lost their houses and properties.
He also inquired into the preparations of relief goods and said to relevant officials: The goods to be sent to children should be prepared with all sincerity. Children, old and infirm people and women in particular must have suffered a lot from flooding. As a saying goes that something may remain after drought but nothing after flood, flood victims must have much trouble after losing their properties.
He then continued that spending money both for economic construction and defence building is for the sake of the people and that aiding disaster victims is a sacred duty of our Party which serves the people.
Upon receiving a detailed report on the situation of the victims the following evening, he said as follows: I feel my heart breaking when I think about the people suffering from the natural disaster. There is no knowing whether another disaster would come in the future and how the situation would be changed. However, I will always be with my people, whatever happens, and make devoted efforts for them, throwing in my lot with them.
Last Signature of Chairman Kim Jong Il
Pyongyang, December 13 (KCNA) -- December is a month in the DPRK when everyone is filled with ardent yearning for Chairman Kim Jong Il who devoted his entire life to the people.
Every year in December, people of the DPRK reminisce an unforgettable story of Kim Jong Il softly in tears.
It was December 16, Juche 100 (2011), when everyone in the country was filled with excitement upon hearing news of the Chairman giving field guidance to the Kwangbok Area Supermarket and other places during the severe cold.
That night, the Chairman picked out a paper regarding the people's livelihood among a pile of documents on his office table.
That document was a plan written out by officials to supply fish prepared by the Chairman to the people ahead of the New Year.
Carefully reading the document which made sure each household was given equal amounts, Kim Jong Il personally took measures to immediately mobilize a train and transport the fish from the port to the relevant railway station and signed on the document.
After embarking on the road of field guidance for the people on the train that night without rest, the Chairman passed away on the running train due to mental and physical overstress the next day.
Thereafter, a heartbreaking spectacle was seen across stores in Pyongyang City where everyone, young and old, was choking in tears upon receiving the fish given by the Chairman.
It was a tearful picture impressed in the hearts of everyone showing Kim Jong Il's world of love for the people which knows no bounds.
11 years have passed since the demise of great Comrade Kim Jong Il, who is a peerless great man and the sun of world progressive people.
As we are in December of yearning, we look back with deep emotion on the devotion shown by Comrade Kim Jong Il to the development of friendly relations with African countries.
58 years ago, in October 1964, Comrade Kim Jong Il personally met with the members of party and government delegation of the Republic of Mali visiting our country.
After having inquired about their health and accommodations in detail, Comrade Kim Jong Il gave valuable teachings on building a new society in Mali. He said the DPRK and Mali are located at different latitudes and longitudes and have different colors and customs, but the peoples of the two countries have same desire to build a new society. He further said, in order to build an independent country free from subordination, one must have the spirit of self-reliance.
The chief aide-de-camp of the president of Mali, after having received the precious teachings from Comrade Kim Jong Il, said in excitement that the masters of Mali are the Malians; so, the construction of new Mali should be done by the efforts of Malian people; they will take it as their political faith.
In March 1984, when Comrade Kim Jong Il heard about the death of Guinean president Sékou Touré who was a man of high repute to be called as “the father of Africa”, he was so sorrowful and made specific arrangements for sending a delegation of mourning.
Moreover, when the Senegalese government requested us to provide assistance for the construction of Monument of the Renaissance of Africa in its country, he dispatched our able technicians to ensure that the monument be completed as the best monument in the African continent as well as the symbol of peace.
Touched by his noble sense of internationalist obligation, the Senegalese president extended his heartfelt thanks to Comrade Kim Jong Il in his speech at the unveiling ceremony of the monument held in April, 2010, on the 50th anniversary of the independence.
Reflecting the boundless admiration for Comrade Kim Jong Il who gave such sincere support and encouragement to the African countries in their struggle to build a new society, many high-ranking figures of political and social circles in Africa respectfully conferred orders and medals on him and presented gifts to him. Among them is also Didier Ratsiraka, president of the Democratic Republic of Madagascar, who conferred “National Grand Cross Order” 1st Class, the highest order of Madagascar, on Comrade Kim Jong Il during his visit to our country in October, 1985.
The immortal feats performed by Comrade Kim Jong Il for the development of relations with the African countries will shine brilliantly through generations and centuries, being cherished deep in our hearts.
We will, in the future, too, invariably support the African people in their efforts to reject foreign intervention, achieve national unity, and ensure regional peace and stability, and will make active contribution to strengthening and developing the relations of friendship and cooperation with African countries as required by the new era.
Song Se Il, President of Korea-Africa Association
Attempt to Politicize International Organization Blasted
At the 128th session of the Council of International Maritime Organization held in the UK recently, the United States and its vassal forces denounced the DPRK’s measures to consolidate its national defence capability as a threat to the international maritime safety.
It is very disappointing that such a farce was staged even at the International Maritime Organization whose mission is to promote cooperation and exchange between countries in the maritime field.
The DPRK’s military measures were an exercise of its sovereignty to cope with the threat of the US which was aggravating the tension in the Korean peninsula by bringing nuclear strategic assets in and around the Korean peninsula and conducting an aggressive joint military drill.
As we had repeatedly declared, our launches of missiles had posed no threat or harm to the navigation of ships or to the security of our neigbouring countries and regions.
The “prior notice” which the organization took issue with didn’t reflect at all the reality of the Korean peninsula which is technically in war, and the US, the main advocate of it, is a country which has no right to mention the “prior notice” and maritime safety.
During the Cold War it conducted many nuclear tests, missile launches and military exercises on the seas, causing many people harm, and worse still, it never gave any “prior notice” to the international community about their military exercises on the seas.
However, it is trying to judge our measures to build up our national defence capability which poses no danger to the international maritime safety, while hiding its sinful past. It is like a guilty party filing the suit first.
This is none other than its old method to intensify the international atmosphere of pressurizing the DPRK even by usurping the power of a UN organization.
Availing myself of this occasion, I would like to say something about the International Maritime Organization.
I think that it is abnormal that a military and political problem which is not related at all with the mission of the International Maritime Organization was discussed at a meeting of the organization which specializes in promoting cooperation and technical exchange among the member nations in the field of marine transport, safety and environment.
An international organization cannot be monopolized by certain countries like the US and, if it doesn’t maintain impartiality and objectivity in its activities, the organization will lose not only the trust of international community but also the value of its existence.
The International Maritime Organization must be faithful to its inherent mission and must not tolerate any attempt to politicize it.
Rim Song Gwan, director of the Maritime Safety Division of the State Maritime Administration of the DPRK
