Spokesperson for DPRK Foreign Ministry on Chinese Government's Righteous Stand
Pyongyang, August 3 (KCNA) -- A spokesperson for the DPRK Foreign Ministry Wednesday gave the following answer to a question put by KCNA as regards the fact that the recent junket to Taiwan by the speaker of the House of Representatives of the U.S. is arousing serious concern of the international community.
Commenting on this matter, China expressed its stand several times to certainly take resolute and strong measures, saying the U.S. will be held entirely accountable for all the consequences.
The current situation clearly shows that the impudent interference of the U.S. in internal affairs of other countries and its intentional political and military provocations are, indeed, the root cause of harassed peace and security in the region.
Taiwan is an inseparable part of China and the issue of Taiwan pertains to the internal affairs of China.
It is the due right of a sovereign state to take counter measures against the moves of the outside forces openly interfering in its internal affairs and destroying its territorial integrity.
We vehemently denounce any external force's interference in the issue of Taiwan, and fully support the Chinese government's just stand to resolutely defend the sovereignty of the country and territorial integrity.
The U.S. scheme to disturb the growth and development of China and its efforts for accomplishing the cause of reunification is bound to go bankrupt.
“It is the reality of the DPRK where an ordinary female worker becomes a heroine, a deputy to the Supreme People’s Assembly. The socialist system of the DPRK provides all conditions so that women can enjoy a social life free from all worries and anxieties. Such a system is really a dreamland for the Western women. If I could be born again, I want to be born as a Korean woman.”
This is what an Irish female figure said, after she was left with a deep impression to see our women’s happy life.
On July 30, 76 years ago, our women could become the legitimate masters of society for the first time in the history of five thousand years. With the promulgation of the Law on Gender Equality, they could exercise equal rights with men in all spheres of political, economic and cultural life.
The Law on Gender Equality is the great law of loving, respecting and valuing women which President Kim Il Sung personally wrote provision by provision after having taken into full consideration the long-cherished burning desire of our women to get rid of all sorts of contempt, maltreatment, feudal oppression and humiliation.
Since then, our women have been completely freed from hereditary shackles of feudalism and have been able to emerge proudly before the times and history as the genuine masters of the country, the powerful force turning one of the wheels of the revolution. Our women who took a dramatic turn in their destiny under the tender care of President Kim Il Sung grew into the reliable ranks pushing ahead with the revolution and construction under the care of Chairman Kim Jong Il.
Chairman Kim Jong Il saw to it that love and respect for women become a social trend by setting forth ideas and theories about women issues including the issue of training many women officials.
Though women performed a good deed of little worth, he let it be known throughout the country. He also firmly ensured women’s dignity and their social status.
Under the warm care of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, women of our country have become flowers of the country and family. Now women’s dignity and pride have reached its zenith thanks to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.
The history of love and respect for women continues on this land by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who provided women with wonderful creations including a palace-like dormitory for workers, Breast Tumor Research Institute of Pyongyang Maternity Hospital and Okryu Children’s Hospital.
Under the meticulous care of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, surprising events have been created in our country-the first woman fighter pilots were born in our country, an ordinary worker has become a weaving heroine and a TV reporter is standing on the top of the world with her world’s longest reporting record.
On the contrary, many women are writhing in the miserable pits and are subjected to maltreatment in every part of the world. The reality teaches us a philosophical principle that women can preserve independent dignity and genuine life only when they have the great leaders.
Today women in our country are leading a genuine life as flowers of the country and family in the worthwhile struggle to bring about the general prosperity of socialism.
Western Arms Assistance Casts a Long Spell of Nightmare Over European Security
Since the outbreak of the Ukrainian situation, the U.S.-led NATO member states are in the race for supporting Ukraine with tanks, armored cars, long-rage artillery, portable anti-tank missiles, various small arms and enormous amount of ammunition, all of which would amount to billions of US dollars.
The West-dispatched arms to Ukraine are said to be gathered in the southern region of Poland first before being delivered to the final destinations loaded into various vehicles and even into personal cars.
The thing is that nobody knows about the whereabouts of those weapons; where they are bound for and whose hands they are placed in, once they departed.
An official document circulated around EU member states in April pointed out that a certain criminal organization has begun arms trafficking in Ukraine, which may as well pose a potential threat to the security in Europe; and in June, the Interpol and the Swedish police authorities warned that the Western arms dispatched to Kiev will end up in the hands of criminal organizations.
Meanwhile, the Czech defense minister, citing as an example of the former Federal Republic of Yugoslavia which failed completely in arms control and management, expressed his concern that same thing is happening in Ukraine now. The spokesperson for Europol also lamented that trafficking of military supplies like firearms is taking place in Ukraine and there is an intelligence report that even heavy arms might be smuggled into the organized criminals or into the hands of the terrorists.
This shows that the Western countries are on pins and needles for fear that the weapons of their own dispatch might be on the black market and ultimately fall into the hands of criminal organizations in Europe.
The fact that most of the weapons possessed by the criminal organizations in European countries are those used during the bloodshed in the Balkans in 1990s stresses the seriousness of the current situation.
The experts appraise that it is quite unreasonable to think that Ukraine, ranking 112th among 180 countries around the world in terms of irregularities and corruption, would control arms trafficking.
Recently, an armed crook in the Middle East even uploaded a video in which he boasted of the Western weaponry purchased from Kiev-based smugglers. This is an enough representation of the open arms-trafficking status in Ukraine.
It is crystal-clear that the so-called arms assistance to Ukraine by the Western countries will only bring chaos in maintaining public order in Europe and cast a long spell of nightmare over it.

A Scientist in the Field of Grounding Engineering
PhD and associate professor Kwon Hye Yong, section chief of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of Kim Chaek University of Technology, is a competent educator as well as a scientist who played a core role in pioneering and developing grounding engineering of the country.
Twenty years ago, when renovation of the production line of the Taedonggang Brewery was underway, Kwon, 33-year old teacher of the university, was assigned the task of designing a grounding protective system.
At that time, as a new cross-disciplinary science, grounding engineering was yet to be studied.
She could expect any assistance from nobody; the only way was to rely on the literature of the related subject. She burnt her heart with consciousness and conscience of being a scientist.
Recollecting that time, she said: To avoid difficulty was not right. I had to challenge it. The country had enabled me, a girl born into an ordinary educator’s family in South Hamgyong Province, to study at Kim Chaek University of Technology and become a teacher of the university. The way to return the country’s favour was to solve the sci-tech problems urgently needed by the country.
After making painstaking efforts, she learned the construction principle of grounding protective system, and eventually her design greatly contributed to the renovation project at the Taedonggang Brewery while guaranteeing the reliability and stability of its integrated production system.
Later, she took part in many renovation projects including those at the Tanchon Smeltery, Huichon Power Station, Pyongyang Wheat Flour Processing Factory, Pyongyang Children’s Foodstuff Factory and Pyongyang Condiments Factory, establishing grounding protective systems of the Korean style, which is the basis of an integrated production system.
In addition, she presented a paper on protecting the small and medium-sized power stations in the city of Samjiyon from thunderbolt, so that valuable assets of the country would not suffer from electromagnetic wave.
As she had to conduct scientific research as well as educational work like giving lectures and working out teaching plans, she was always pressed for time. She worked hard even on holidays.
She has put on a scientific footing and formulated the successes and experiences she had gained while closely combining educational work and scientific research, presenting dozens of papers related to the grounding engineering, including Research on the grounding system in low-voltage electric distribution system connected to electronic information equipment, and over 10 textbooks and reference books including EMC Technology.
In addition, she has written such teaching materials for the universal 12-year compulsory education as Basic Technology and Basics of Technical Activities.
One who has high capability, burning passion and pride and sense of justice in one’s job can achieve success in one’s work.
The above is what she has cherished and which she teaches her students.
KCNA Commentary Censures Japan's Wrong Behavior
Pyongyang, August 3 (KCNA) -- Japan, in its 2022 defense white paper, branded again the DPRK as a "critical and urgent threat" to its security, following last year.
It also labeled neighboring counties as "subjects of deep concern for security of the region and the international community" and "forces shaking the base of the whole international order including Asia as well as Europe."
It is a shameless behavior like the guilty party filing the suit first and a cunning trick to justify its reckless militaristic moves.
It is none other than Japan that impels the regional situation towards an acute state at present with a rash move for turning itself into a military power in order to realize its wild ambition for reinvasion.
It is evidenced by Japan's forcible pushes for revising the Constitution, increasing its "defense spendings" and possessing the "capability to attack enemy bases" despite strong opposition at home and abroad.
The Japanese reactionaries drew up draft amendments of the Constitution that get rid of the key parts stipulating the abandoning of the rights to have an army and engage in a war and recognize the "Self-Defense Forces" as a regular army and brought them up to "debate". And they are making a desperate bid for securing rubber stamps needed for revising the Constitution.
Not content with touting alleged "threats" to pour a lot more money into the move to build a military giant, Japan gave a false account of the proportion of the military spendings to its GDP in this year's white paper, shamelessly uttering that "it is the lowest in the world."
While persistently trying to possess the "capability to attack enemy bases" which is condemned even at home as an attempt to acquire the capability for making a preemptive strike, Japan goes crafty to consider specifying the capability in the "state security strategy" by renaming it "counterattack capability."
If such dangerous schemes are all completed, Japan will turn into a war-capable state that can legally wage an invasion of any country at any moment, thus embarking on the road of overseas invasion brazenly.
There is no vouch that a new war of aggression will not be ignited again by such outrageous Japan, which never feels any guilty, far from apologizing for its unprecedented crimes of aggression on the peoples of Asian countries in the last century.
Moreover, the undisguised hostility towards the DPRK, China and Russia and subsequent ill-boding moves by the Japanese reactionaries suggest that another bloody war of aggression to be started by Japan comes into sight moment by moment.
Japan is the most dangerous scaremonger that destroys regional peace and stability and brings clouds of a war.
Aggression leads to self-suicide.
Mindful of this truth of history, Japan should stop acting rashly.
