Congratulatory Visit to Kim Il Sung University on Its 80th Founding Anniversary
Pyongyang,
October 1 (KCNA) -- Kim Il Sung University, well known as the most authoritative
and prestigious, highest seat of Juche-oriented science and education, is
recording its glorious history of 80 years with pride.
Founded
as the first university of the people on the untrodden path of nation building,
it has demonstrated the high prestige and reputation as a "pedigree
farm" of revolutionary talent education for training the backbone of our
Party and state and as the highest school leading the country’s
educational and sci-tech development, invariably remaining faithful to the
historic mission given by the times and the revolution. Its distinguished feats
serve as a solid cornerstone supporting the bright future of the Juche cause.
Respected
Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea
and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of
Korea, paid a congratulatory visit to Kim Il Sung University on
September 30 on the occasion of its 80th founding anniversary.
The
time-honored area of Ryongnam Hill was overflowing with great emotion and joy
of all the teaching staff and students honored to have at their university
Marshal Kim Jong Un whom they had wanted to see so much, on the
significant occasion of its 80th founding anniversary.
When
Comrade Kim Jong Un arrived at the university, stormy cheers of
"Hurrah" burst out.
All
the participants paid the highest tribute and deep thanks to Comrade Kim
Jong Un who visited the university with his boundless love, trust and warm
blessings while steadily developing the socialist education of our country into
a popular and advanced one to the envy of everyone, the revolutionary and
patriotic education powerfully leading the national prosperity.
Comrade
Kim Jong Un was courteously greeted by President Kim Sung Chan and other
leading officials of Kim Il Sung University.
Educationists
of the university presented fragrant bouquets to Comrade Kim Jong Un in
reflection of the boundless reverence and unanimous wishes of all the teaching
staff and students.
Comrade
Kim Jong Un warmly congratulated all the teaching staff, students and
graduates of the university who are making contributions to glorifying the
immortal prestige and honor of the university and accomplishing the cause of
building a powerful socialist country by devoting their ardent patriotic mind
to the implementation of the Party's educational policy and the country's
sci-tech development through training of talented revolutionaries, high
educational and scientific achievements and passion in academic studies.
Attending
the commemoration event were teachers and students of Kim Il Sung
University and meritorious graduates devoting themselves in various sectors of
socialist construction, and students of central-level universities in
Pyongyang.
Also
present were foreign guests and overseas compatriots who are taking part in the
international academic forum commemorating the 80th founding anniversary
of Kim Il Sung University, members of foreign diplomatic
missions in the DPRK and foreign students studying at the university.

Kim Jong Un made an important speech on the occasion of the 80th
founding anniversary of Kim Il Sung University.
Saying
that the 80th founding anniversary of the parent university, which gave origin
to the training of national cadres of our state, the highest school
representing the intelligence and civilization of the DPRK, is a great pride
and an auspicious event of the country, he extended warm congratulations and
greetings of encouragement to all the teachers and researchers who are devoting
themselves to teaching to remain true to their sacred duty at the holy
platform, to the students who are keen on study and research with the ambition
and desire to fully demonstrate the honor of the DPRK, and to all graduates who
are greeting the founding anniversary of their university with deep
recollection and emotion.
Paying
his respect to the noble idea of having built before anything else the pedigree
establishment for training talents to be the backbone of the DPRK in the first
days of nation building 80 years ago, he stressed that Kim Il Sung
University is the highest dignified educational institution symbolizing our
state and dynamically promoting its prosperity and development and a
meritorious school of high reputation as it has trained the best talents
representing the wisdom and creativity of our people with high pride.
Recalling
the proud 80-year history of the university which has reliably guaranteed the
far-sighted plan of the country with remarkable educational and scientific
achievements since the outset of the history of the Republic, he referred to
the importance of the university with a history of noble patriotism and
succession to play the powerful role as an engine in ensuring remarkable
success of state-building strategy at the times when the national sovereignty
and prestige are guaranteed by the educational development and sci-tech
sovereignty, the most important and decisive period for the present and future
of our motherland.
The
university should stand in the vanguard of the honorable struggle for building
a powerful and prosperous country, he said, clarifying the principled issues
for it to implement in the van the Party Central Committee’s line of
building an educational power and a talent power and lay a firm strategic orbit
for the future in line with the solemn requirements of the times and
expectations of the people.
Noting
that the building of an educational power, a sci-tech power and a talent power
is the three essential requirements and basic guarantee for the development of
Korean-style socialism insisted by our Party at present, he expressed the view
and expectation of the Party Central Committee on the core and leading position
and role of the university in carrying out this strategic task and advanced the
tasks and ways for opening up a great new phase of socialist education in the
new era with high and qualitative development of the university.
Comrade
Kim Jong Un ardently called for advancing with greater confidence for
the DPRK, our great motherland, and for the great ideal and great success of
all the people, wishing Kim Il Sung University eternal development and glory.
His
passionate speech, which indicates the immortal education programme
guaranteeing the rosy future of socialist Korea for all ages with his steadfast
will to glorify the DPRK as a country of education, science and talents,
greatly excited the participants.
When
Comrade Kim Jong Un finished his speech, all the participants raised
stormy cheers as a token of their solemn pledge to firmly carry forward the
proud history and tradition of the university and fulfill the honorable
responsibility and duty before the times and history with its core and leading
role in the country’s educational and sci-tech development.
Then,
a performance for commemorating the 80th founding anniversary of Kim Il Sung
University was given with splendor in the presence of Comrade Kim Jong Un.
Put
on the stage were songs reflecting the proud history of the university which
has trained a large number of competent talents boundlessly loyal to the
country and the revolution through decades since its foundation as a genuine
people's university training pillars of new Korea, and famous songs on the
theme of patriotism.
The
audience was deeply moved by numbers recalling the important and distinguished
role and proud feats of the university shining along with the victorious
journey of the revolutionary cause of Juche.
The
campus of the university was filled with joy and optimism of young people as
the songs reflecting the ardent aspiration and desire of the people to glorify
the great motherland DPRK for all ages reverberated.
The
performance was acclaimed by the audience as it splendidly decorated the
founding anniversary of the highest school of our state with wonderful artistic
depiction.
At
the end of the performance, the audiences broke into enthusiastic cheers in
reverence for Comrade Kim Jong Un again.
Comrade
Kim Jong Un expressed expectation and belief that the teaching staff and
students of Kim Il Sung University would make a dynamic leap forward and
innovations in the vanguard of the revolution in education of the new era and
prepare themselves to be reliable pillars and competent talents of the DPRK who
are the pride of the country and the resourcefulness of the people.
All
the participants vowed to devote all their wisdom and passion with loyalty to
the successful implementation of the great education programme set forth by
Comrade Kim Jong Un, in return to his ardent love and trust.

to Comrade Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Central Committee of the
Communist Party of China and president of the People's Republic of China, on
October 1.
The
message said:
Esteemed
Comrade General Secretary,
I,
on behalf of the Workers' Party of Korea and the government and people of the
Democratic People's Republic of Korea and on my own behalf, extend the warmest
congratulations and best wishes to you and, through you, to the Communist Party
of China, the government of the People's Republic of China and the fraternal
Chinese people on the occasion of the 77th founding anniversary of the People's
Republic of China.
Since
the founding of new China, the wise and diligent Chinese people have made
world-startling progress in the whole realms of the development of the state
and built a modern socialist China, weathering through all challenges and
trials of history by dint of perseverance and united efforts.
The
noteworthy successes, being achieved in recent years in the fresh course of
realizing the socialist ideology of the new era with the Chinese
characteristics on a full scale in response to the spirit of the 20th Congress
of the Party, enhance the country’s overall national power and
international position and, at the same time, clearly show that nothing can
check the Chinese people's cause of building a powerful country and promoting

We
are sincerely rejoiced over the achievements made in our socialist neighbor,

I
had meaningful meetings with Comrade General Secretary last year and this year

and death, into the most powerful and strategic relations between socialist
states aspiring after the beautiful common future.
Accordingly,
both sides splendidly celebrated the 65th anniversary of the conclusion of the
DPRK-China Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance and are
designing together and dynamically promoting the undertakings for deepening
exchange and cooperation in all fields in conformity with the interests and
aspirations of the peoples of the two countries.
The
history of the DPRK-China friendship, which was forged at the cost of blood and
has been carried forward with genuine comradely friendship, can never be shaken
no matter how the international situation may change, and it is the steadfast
will of our Party and government to steadily develop the traditional relations
of unity and cooperation with socialism, the common ideal, common banner and
common cause, as the core.

myself of this opportunity, I reaffirm the stand to lead the DPRK-China

together with you, Comrade General Secretary, and thus strive to firmly adhere
