Press Statement of Kim Yo Jong, Vice Department Director of C.C., WPK Pyongyang, April 9 (KCNA) -- Kim Yo Jong, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, issued the following press statement "The anachronistic 'denuclearization' idea of the U.S., Japan and the ROK can never affect the position of our state" on April 8: The diplomatic authorities of the U.S., Japan and the ROK again talked about someone's "complete denuclearization", terming the Democratic People's Republic of Korea's exercise of its sovereign rights a "threat" at the recent NATO foreign ministers' meeting. It only fully exposed the uneasiness of the U.S., Japan and the ROK in a desperate plight of having to talk about "denuclearization" in chorus although they just know that "denuclearization" of us is nothing but a daydream that can never come true. Just two months ago, we clarified how stupid the U.S. is in pursuing the goal of "denuclearizing" the DPRK, something utterly impossible and unrealistic in practice and conception. They still talk about "complete denuclearization," lost in the past daydream that brought them to failure, revealing themselves how anachronistic and absurd their level of political judgment is. Did they come up with a good way to realize someone's "denuclearization" whenever they had a loud brainstorming session? If they frantically cry out for "denuclearization", really believing in it, they must be termed nonsensical. The position of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea as a nuclear weapons state, established along with the existence of its substantial and very strong nuclear deterrent and permanently fixed in its supreme and basic state law according to the unanimous will of all its people, is a result of the inevitable option which accurately reflected the hostile threat from outside and the change in the present and future world security mechanical structure. So it does not change no matter how desperately anyone denies. We don't care about anyone's denial and recognition and we never change our option. This is our steadfast choice that can never be reversed by any physical strength or sly artifice. If anyone openly talks about dismantlement of nuclear weapons before us or seeks to revive the dead concept of "denuclearization" under various pretexts, it just constitutes the most hostile act of denying the sovereignty of the DPRK and forcing it to renounce its constitution and social system. I made it clear once again on this occasion. The nuclear forces of the DPRK not only play a key role in deterring aggression and threat from outside and defending the sovereignty and security of the state but also make an important contribution to ensuring the regional and global balance of power and strategic security. The only way for the U.S., Japan and the ROK to defuse their current security concern is to completely refrain from their unilateral attempt to change the status quo and shake the present position of the DPRK and sincerely find a method to avoid head-on conflict. If the U.S. and its vassal forces continue to insist on anachronistic "denuclearization" while talking about "threat" from someone, it will only give unlimited justness and justification to the advance of the DPRK aspiring after the building of the strongest nuclear force for self-defence. The DPRK will make steady responsible efforts to thoroughly defend the supreme interests of the state and ensure regional peace and stability, given that the U.S. has gone to extremes in its nuclear threat and its nuclear alliance is getting desperate in its confrontational moves as days go by.
Symposium on Medical Science Held in DPRK Pyongyang, April 10 (KCNA) -- The 2025 Symposium on Medical Science was held at the Sci-Tech Complex from April 7 to 9 under the sponsorship of the Central Committee of the Medical Association of Korea. The symposium was held in form of academic and research seminar in the fields of hygienic and anti-epidemics, Koryo medicine, surgery, internal medicine, basic medicine, pharmacy, ozone treatment and rheumatic treatment. Present there were scientists, researchers, teachers and medical workers in the public health sector. More than 400 research papers of significance in clinical practice and valuable medical sci-tech achievements made in the anti-epidemic and public health fields were presented to the symposium. The papers presented by scientists, researchers, teachers and medical workers of the Central Disease Prevention and Control Center, the Academy of Medical Science, the Korean General Red Cross Hospital, the Koryo Medicine General Hospital, the Ryugyong Dental Hospital, Haeju University of Medicine, the North Hamgyong Provincial General Hospital and the South Phyongan Provincial Hospital of Koryo Medicine were highly appreciated for their practical significance. Educational Aid System for Children with Disabilities Operated in DPRK Pyongyang, April 9 (KCNA) -- The educational sector of the DPRK has directed efforts to the preparations for operating a new educational aid system for children with disabilities in an experimental way this year. Officials and educators in the relevant field set up a class for children with hearing disorder at the Hwawon Kindergarten No. 2 in Hwasong District, Pyongyang Municipality, assigned teachers and doctors in charge of them and improved teaching program to suit the actual conditions. And they produced multimedia, published new teaching materials for deaf-and-dumb education and provided hundreds of teaching aids and toys. They also provided living conditions for children with disabilities as they organize the weekly kindergarten class and made sure that the children attend the kindergarten from their home by bus. On April 1, the first lesson for children with disabilities from various districts of the municipality was given at the Hwawon Kindergarten No. 2. On the basis of generalizing the experience gained by the kindergarten in education given in an experimental way, kindergarten classes for children with disabilities will be organized and operated in all provinces from next year.
