Press Statement of DPRK Vice Foreign Minister for International Organizations
Pyongyang, November 8 (KCNA) -- Kim Son Gyong, vice-minister for International Organizations of the Foreign Ministry of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, issued the following press statement on Monday:
I express strong regret at the fact that the UN secretary general issued a statement on Nov. 4 groundlessly pulling up the DPRK over its just counteraction for self-defence to cope with the U.S. military provocations, and categorically reject it.
The DPRK Foreign Ministry has already clarified that the military drills for counteraction conducted by the Korean People's Army were a due reaction to the largest-ever combined air drill staged by the U.S. and south Korea.
This being a hard fact, the UN secretary general is echoing what the White House and the State Department say as if he were their mouthpiece, which is deplorable.
Who committed the provocation and who is to be blamed for it?
If the war drills being staged in a frantic manner by openly introducing an aircraft carrier and strategic bombers against the sovereign state are described as "defensive" and the exercise of the just right to self-defence to cope with them is branded as "provocation", the UN, whose most important mission is to maintain global peace and security, will lose its justification for existence.
Being the chief of the UN, a world-wide body, he should remain faithful to the mission and universal value of the UN which regards equity and objectivity as its lifeblood, and should not be biased towards the interests and views of a big power or a small group in judging and dealing with all matters.
I think that the unfair and prejudiced behavior of the UN secretary general is to blame to some extent for the situation on the Korean peninsula getting so serious.
If the UN secretary general truly wants to contribute to maintaining the world peace and stability, he would be well advised to stop dancing blindly to the tune of others and focus on getting rid of the source of provocation with correct insight.
Press Statement of Vice Director for Military Foreign Affairs of
DPRK Ministry of National Defence
Pyongyang, November 8 (KCNA) -- The vice director for Military Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of National Defence of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea issued the following press statement on Monday:
Recently, the U.S. is persistently spreading a groundless "rumor of arms dealings" between the DPRK and Russia in a bid to make it a fait accompli at any cost.
The vice-director general of the General Bureau of Equipment of the Ministry of National Defence of the DPRK had already denounced the U.S. for its "rumor of arms dealings" as a plot-breeding story against the DPRK.
We regard such moves of the U.S. as part of its hostile attempt to tarnish the image of the DPRK in the international arena by invoking the illegal "sanctions resolution" of the UNSC against the DPRK.
We once again make clear that we have never had "arms dealings" with Russia and that we have no plan to do so in the future.
The U.S. should not pull up the DPRK without any reason.
Alma Mater Turns into Scene of Crime – Human Rights Tragedy of America
Even the sacred alma mater, an object for expressing a feeling of thanks, is now turning into a bloodstained killing ground. This is the tragedy of the U.S. human rights situation.
The U.S. once again recorded a horrific shooting incident on October 21, whereby an armed hooligan broke into a classroom of art high school in Missouri and fired at random, killing a 61-year-old teacher and a 16-year-old female student and injuring seven students.
The police investigation said the criminal is a graduate from this school. This incident is 40th shooting crime on campus this year. This incident resulted in the death of 34 people with 88 people injured.
Gun-related crime on campus which occurs as daily happenings in the U.S. is only a part of gun-related crimes rampant in its society.
Between 2019 and 2020, the death rate of child and adolescent from gun-related crimes in the U.S. has increased by 30%. In 2021 alone, the death toll of children and adolescents reached 5,692.
Even the U.S. survey agency “Gallup” acknowledged that more than half of the Americans feel reluctant to send their children to schools for fear of gun-related crimes on campus. This is a telltale evidence showing the seriousness of the situation.
Nevertheless, the U.S. habitually finds faults with other countries over their human rights situation at will and misuses the human rights issue as a tool for interfering in the internal affairs of others.
It is quite natural that many countries of the world are mocking and deriding the U.S., a kingdom of crime, which, to the surprise of everybody, remains indifferent to the dismal state at home.
The U.S., the kingdom of all crimes and the world’s biggest obliterator of human rights, has long lost its right to argue on the matters of human rights of other countries.

Fluttering Camping Flag on Mt Ryongak
Merry camping days go on in the Mangyongdae Children’s Camp at the foot of the picturesque Mt Ryongak, which is known as Mt Kumgang in Pyongyang. Mangyongdae Children’s Camp, a comprehensive base for extracurricular activities for schoolchildren in the capital city of Pyongyang, was established at the proposal of President Kim Il Sung. Chairman Kim Jong Il personally named it and set the date of its inauguration. And the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un gave instructions that the camp should be reconstructed at the highest level as required by the new century, went over the formation plan for its reconstruction, and took measures to solve problems arising in the reconstruction project.
The camp, which has been splendidly reconstructed in 2016, is capable of accommodating 1 000 schoolchildren at a time, who spend three, five or seven days there. And a seven-day camping is most popular.
Little campers, who experience new life, together with mates, away from home for the first time, are most attracted to mountaineering on Mt Ryongak.
Climbing up along the course laid on the mountain with an elevation of 292 metres and a gradient of 30 degrees, they train their body and mind and consolidate the knowledge they have learned at school.
Not only mountaineering but also boating, basketball playing in the outdoors, cooking practice and electronic amusement games are so inviting.
And the schoolchildren’s hall serves as a venue for a get-together of the campers, who show off their artistic talents and the pride of their schools.
The night in the children’s camp advances with merry singing and animated conversations between campers, who feel sorry about the passage of joyous camping days.
The schoolchildren, who enjoy camping under the excellent conditions and affectionate care of the camp’s staff, will never forget the experience.
