Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Meets and
Has Photo Session with Participants in Eighth SWUK Congress
Pyongyang, July 18 (KCNA) -- The
respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party
of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic
of Korea, met with the participants in the Eighth Congress of the Socialist
Women's Union of Korea on July 17.
The venue for the photo session was
overflowing with the great excitement and joy of women's union officials and
members who were waiting for the moment of glory and happiness, their earnest
desire, after attending the significant congress held amid the great interest
and congratulation of all other people of the country.
When Comrade Kim Jong Un arrived
at the venue, all the participants broke into stormy cheers of
"Hurrah!", looking up to the tender-hearted father who put forward
our women before the era and has shown them great trust and love.
An official of the women's union
respectfully presented a bouquet of fragrant flowers to him, representing
boundless reverence and best wishes for him.
Comrade Kim Jong Un congratulated
the newly elected chairwoman and vice-chairwomen of the Eighth Central
Committee of the SWUK, shaking hands with them.
He extended warm greetings of
encouragement to the participants, who displayed through the largest-ever
gathering in the history of the women's union the noble loyalty, preeminent
revolutionary spirit, inexhaustible might of unity and patriotic enthusiasm of
the Korean women unconditionally supporting what the Party is determined to do
and faithfully carrying it out and successfully completed the work of the
congress.
The past five years which have passed
along with the great pioneering period of comprehensive rejuvenation are
clearly associated with the devoted efforts of our strongest, steadfast,
diligent and resourceful women who dynamically accelerated the advance of the
country, he said, adding that the role of the women's union as educator and
organizer and mobilizer obviously proved that when the women unite with a
single will and intention and pool their wisdom, strength and enthusiasm, they
can surmount any difficulties and realize any ideals.
It is our Party's highest pride and our
state's great strength to have the women's organization full of the noble
spirit of firmly trusting and following our Party only and passionately loving
and defending socialism, a powerful group of women patriots without a parallel
in their active role and fighting efficiency, he noted.
Our Party's great historic cause will be
successfully accomplished and our state's dignity and might more fully
demonstrated as our women are adding to beauty and freshness of their families
and the society and giving steady continuity to the generation of patriotism
and revolution with the noble viewpoint on life intended to place the duty to
repay above the right to enjoy and feel a sense of pride of genuine life and
joy on the road of patriotism and with the genuine maternal affection, he
stressed
The gigantic struggle for transformation
in the new era highlights the need to further strengthen the women's union in
charge of a part of the revolution, he said, stating that the women's union
organizations at all levels should first of all concentrate on the ideological
education so as to firmly maintain the revolutionary nature, pure mind and
beauty of our women who regard the Party's lines and policies as their faith
and advance along only the road indicated by the Party.
He expressed the expectation and belief
that all the women's union officials and members would always keep in mind
their missions and duties they assumed before the era and the revolution, their
families and society and become genuine patriots making a tangible contribution
to the prosperity of the country always with a single mind and intention, and
communist mothers and educators bringing their children up to be fine ones. And
then he had a photo taken with them.
After the photo session, the
participants broke into enthusiastic cheers, expressing their faith and will to
firmly unite under the banner of the WPK and greet all happiness and glory under
its loving care.
Comrade Kim Jong Un waved back to
and extended warm encouragement to the participants who were raising stormy
cheers in expression of their ardent loyalty and patriotic enthusiasm.
All the participants hardened their iron
will to fully display with redoubled self-confidence and exertion the fighting
efficiency of the women's union in the worthwhile struggle for the prosperity
of our great state and the happiness and bright future of the rising
generations.
Press Statement of Spokesman for DPRK Ministry of National Defence
Pyongyang, July 18 (KCNA) -- A spokesman
for the Ministry of National Defence of the Democratic People's Republic of
Korea issued the following press statement on Saturday:
The U.S.-Japan-ROK military collusion,
which has recently been taking a more dangerous form with a nuclear element in
it, is the root cause of undermining peace and stability in the Korean
peninsula and the Asia-Pacific region.
At the U.S.-Japan-ROK Trilateral Chiefs
of Defence meeting held in Washington on July 15, the enemy countries agreed to
further strengthen the tripartite military cooperation, including the holding
of Freedom Edge, the multi-domain joint military exercises targeting regional
countries, taking issue with the constitutional position of the DPRK.
This clearly shows the invariable
hostile attempt of the U.S., Japan and the ROK to attain a military superiority
in the region and seek their hegemonic geopolitical interests through
intensified trilateral military cooperation.
The DPRK Ministry of National Defence
cautions about the danger of the provocative trilateral military cooperation
that creates a possibility for worrisome military confrontation and conflict in
the Korean peninsula and gives a stern warning about its negative consequences
for the regional security environment.
The U.S.-Japan-ROK military nexus and
war drills openly disregarding the security concerns of regional countries are
persistently deteriorating the security environment in the Korean peninsula and
the region.
On July 13 the U.S. and the ROK launched
Buddy Squadron air drills aimed at increasing the joint attack capability and
staged the largest-ever Combined Joint Sustainment Training with more than 4
400 troops and over 600 warships and planes involved.
And the U.S. permanently deployed Los
Angeles-class nuclear attack submarine on Guam as part of its effort to bolster
underwater combat strength in the western Pacific and is now staging RIMPAC,
the largest-ever multinational joint naval drill in the world led by the U.S.,
Japan and the ROK, in the waters off Hawaii.
We can never remain indifferent to the
serious security challenge posed by the U.S.-Japan-ROK triangular military
cooperation, which is being integrated and developed in an offensive way day by
day under the manipulation of the U.S., to the Korean peninsula and the region
beyond it.
The DPRK reaffirms its stand to deter
the military moves of the enemy countries and thoroughly manage the security
environment in the Korean peninsula with its responsible will and effective
actions to cope with the prevailing threat.
Proceeding from the viewpoint of
powerful strength, the armed forces of the DPRK will never allow the imbalance
of force in the region forced by the U.S.-Japan-ROK military nexus and always remain
faithful to the constitutional mission to neutralize the actual security
challenges and potential threats and reliably defend the security of the
country and the regional peace.
DPRK FM Choe Son Hui Leaves Pyongyang for Russian Federation
Pyongyang, July 19 (KCNA) -- At the
invitation of Sergei Lavrov, foreign minister of the Russian Federation, Choe
Son Hui, foreign minister of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and her
party left here by her personal plane on July 18 to visit the Russian Federation.
They were seen off at Pyongyang
International Airport by Kim Jong Gyu, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs of the
DPRK, and Charge d'Affaires ad Interim Vladimir Topekha of the Russian embassy
here.
Belarusian Delegation Visits Mangyongdae
Pyongyang, July 19 (KCNA) -- A
delegation of the Communist Party of Belarus led by Sergei Syrankov, first
secretary of the Party Central Committee, visited Mangyongdae, the birthplace
of President Kim Il Sung.
Being briefed on the noble revolutionary
career of the President who devoted his all to the prosperity of socialist
Korea, happiness of the people and the human cause of independence, at his old
home in Mangyongdae, the members of the delegation looked round the historic
relics preserved with much care.
They had a photo taken in commemoration
of their visit to Mangyongdae.
The delegation also toured the Tower of
the Juche Idea, the Central Cadres Training School of the Workers' Party of
Korea, the Pyongyang General Hospital, the Wonsan Kalma coastal tourist area,
the Liberation Tower, etc.
