Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of DPRK Issues Press Statement
Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- Pak Sang Gil, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK, issued the following press statement on Monday:
It is reported that Japanese Prime Minister Kishida said at a rally on May 27 that it is very important to build the relations between the top leaders of the DPRK and Japan, and clarified his intention to hold a high-level consultation for the early hosting of the DPRK-Japan summit.
We know that the prime minister has expressed his desire for the "Japan-DPRK summit without preconditions" whenever he has an opportunity after he took office, but we do not know what he really wants to get from it.
Two rounds of the DPRK-Japan summit meetings and talks took place in the 21st century, but the relations between the two countries are only deteriorating. So it is necessary to cool-headedly recall its reason.
Japan is now talking about the "summit talks without preconditions" but, in fact, it is clamoring for settlement over the abduction issue, which had already been resolved, and the DPRK's right to self-defence, and putting forward it as a precondition for improving the DPRK-Japan relations.
We are not sure what Japan is going to do and what it wants, but if it tries to fulfill the unrealizable desire by employing the methods used by the preceding regimes without any better proposals and bold decision to rewrite history, it will be a miscalculation and a waste of time.
If one doggedly sticks to the past, one cannot advance towards the future.
It is the stand of the DPRK government that if Japan is to make a new decision from a broad perspective of recognizing each other as it is in the light of the changed international trend and times, not being shackled by the past, and seeks a way of improving the relations, there is no reason for the DPRK and Japan not to meet.
Japan should show its will to resolve the issue by practice, not by words.
Press Statement of Spokesperson for DPRK Football Association
Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- A spokesperson for the DPRK Football Association released the following press statement on May 28:
Shortly ago, the government of the Netherlands refused the issuing of an entry visa for the DPRK team, due to attend the 14th World Military Women's Football Championship, without any justifiable reason.
This abnormal situation is a very serious act contrary to the fundamental idea of the Olympic movement on eliminating discrimination in sports and making sportspersons from all countries and regions participate in international sports games with equal qualifications and to the motto of the International Military Sports Council called the "friendship through sports".
The DPRK Football Association bitterly denounces the Dutch misbehavior of unreasonably checking the participation of the DPRK's sportspersons in international games as a political hostile act.
Sports should contribute to promoting peace and friendship among countries and peoples.
The politicization of sports cannot be justified with any reason.
The Dutch government's behavior is an insult to the noble mission of sports with "unity, friendship, equal competition and mutual understanding" as its idea, and it is a base and mean act of aligning itself with the moves of the hostile forces who are displeased with the DPRK's football team's participation in the games.
The International Military Sports Council should seriously reflect on the gravity of the abnormal situation and realize the sound development, independence and non-politicization of sports and take issue with acts contrary to it.
The Netherlands, which violated the noble sports spirit, is not morally qualified to host the international sports festival.
The DPRK does not feel at all the need to participate in the 14th World Military Women's Football Championship politicized by the Dutch unjust acts and, accordingly, will not send its team to it.
The Netherlands will be certainly held accountable for its unfriendly and unjust acts of politicizing sports under the sinister purposes.
Australia Has No Future: International Affairs Analyst of DPRK
Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- Ri Jong Su, an international affairs analyst, issued the following article titled "Australia obsessed with pro-U.S. sycophancy has no future" on May 28:
Australia has betrayed its true colors once again as it feels sad when it is said that it is not the best at kowtowing to the U.S.
To cite the recent example, the foreign ministry of this country announced the extension of what it called the independent sanctions upon the DPRK.
The foreign ministry of Australia, which had placed two individuals and six companies on the independent sanctions list in 2017, extended the sanctions upon those in 2020. On May 12, it took the same measure, saying "north Korea and those helping it evade sanctions will be held accountable continuously."
It has been already proved as the common recognition by the international community and the truth that it is utterly impossible to tie up the DPRK with the U.S.-made rotten cord called sanctions.
However, Australia has not yet dropped its anachronistic way of thinking and sense of dreamlike mission, failing to face up to such reality. One cannot but feel sorry about this.
Cervantes, a famous Spanish writer, left a novel titled "Don Quixote" for human literature.
His novel described Don Quixote as the one who regarded it as his "mission" and "duty" to "devote himself to mankind" by "setting right wrong things and preventing damage, touring the world."
The U.S. can be called modern Don Quixote as it causes chaos across the world, deeming it its gifted nature to dominate the world. Australia can be termed the incarnation of Sancho Panza who is a squire following Don Quixote out of his dream for becoming the governor of an island.
Australia, which had formed alliance with the U.S. before any other countries, occasioned by the emergence of ANZUS in September 1951, is the top-class lackey of the U.S. It is illustrated by the fact that Japan concluded a security treaty with the U.S. in April 1952 and south Korea a mutual defense treaty in October 1953.
Australia joined SEATO, a regional military alliance formed by the U.S. in 1954. In 1956 it found itself in the Five Eyes (U.S., U.K., Australia, Canada and New Zealand), an intelligence alliance, in which each country allegedly monitors all countries and nations except the Anglo Saxons after dividing the world into five regions. Australia has been the most faithful servant of the U.S.
But what Australia got for its loyalty were the remains of its soldiers who were killed in the battlefields of aggression wars ignited by the U.S. in different parts of the world including Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq.
An Australian institute in a commentary released in September 2011 on the lapse of the 60th anniversary of Australia's alliance with the U.S. noted that Australia has always served the stronger though it has cost it dearly.
This could be a comment that almost correctly and frankly acknowledged the past history of Australia which has maintained its existence by blindly following the U.S.
Australia, which has involved itself in such U.S.-led exclusive alliances as QUAD and AUKUS, oft-repeating someone's "threat", will soon possess a nuclear-powered submarine granted by the U.S. This shows that Australia seeks to play the role of a scout and shock brigade for realizing the U.S. wild ambition for dominating the world, oblivious of the lesson taught by its past.
Australia is also taking the lead in the U.S. sanctions and pressure aimed to stamp out the DPRK's sovereignty and rights to self-defence and existence.
When its U.S. master termed someone "evil" and "hooligan", Australia has been busy echoing it, as evidenced by the fact that it has been involved in all mad-cap U.S.-led war exercises aimed to ignite the second Korean war such as Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military drill and Ssangyong combined landing drill.
Australia has continuously declared independent sanctions upon the DPRK since the "sanctions resolution" No. 1718 was released against the entirely just first nuclear test of the DPRK in October 2006. Furthermore, it has deployed various warships and fighters in the waters off the Korean Peninsula 19 times in total under the pretext of monitoring someone's "illegal maritime activities" since 2018.
Australia seemingly behaves like a puppy unafraid of a tiger and makes no scruple of plunging itself into hell, without consideration of the opponent's weight and the bout result, if it is wanted and ordered by the U.S. This is the true appearance of Australia hell-bent on sycophancy to the U.S.
Those who forgot their past are bound to repeat the past.
It seems that the politicians of Australia play down 340, the number of its soldiers who met meaningless deaths in the Korean War provoked by the U.S.
Australia will never expect a bright future as long as it goes by such disgusting name as faithful lackey and dog of the U.S., no matter that it has a nuclear-powered sub or something more than it.
KCNA Commentary on Dangerous U.S.-south Korean Military Attempt
Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- The U.S. and the south Korean puppet scoundrels are getting ever more desperate in their ceaseless war gamble which has gone beyond the threshold of another dangerous phase of escalating tension, though we keep an eye on them with patience.
The enemies launched the largest-ever "combined joint fire annihilation drill" in the area close to the Military Demarcation Line on May 25.
The drill to be conducted in five stages by June 15 is a very dangerous saber-rattling as its name denotes.
Involved in the first-stage drill were more than 2 500 troops from 71 units of combined forces of the U.S. forces and the south Korean puppet army and more than 610 arms and equipment of the ground and air forces including tanks, armored cars, fighters and drones.
The powder-reeking war drill was staged in a frantic manner by the U.S. and the south Korean puppet army as part of a "joint strike at artillery units, command and support facilities of the north" and of "reconnaissance surveillance of the north's core targets in the area along the Military Demarcation Line and strike at them by air and artillery forces".
The puppet scoundrels went mad with confrontation before the drill, making bellicose remarks that the "drill is prepared as a demonstration of the ultra-modern military capability of the U.S.-south Korea alliance for peace by strength" and "it will show the shortest termination of operation with the might of the overwhelming U.S.-south Korea combined joint fighting power and military capabilities.
The "combined joint fire annihilation drill" is not a simple ordinary military drill but a very dishonest and threatening actual drill, a preview for the aggressive war and a dangerous attempt to use armed forces against the DPRK.
As everybody knows, the U.S. and the south Korean puppet warmongers have mastered military threat and blackmail and war tactics against the DPRK through the "combined joint fire annihilation drill".
The drill has been staged 11 times since June 1977 as it was pursuant to the war scenario that the U.S. and south Korean puppet ground, naval and air combined forces would carry out a "punishment" against the DPRK by mobilizing "latest weapons" in case a war breaks out on the Korean Peninsula.
The figures show that the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet scoundrels made great efforts to stage every "combined joint fire annihilation drill".
At the end of last year, they openly revealed the bellicose nature of the drill, describing it as "the largest-ever one involving many cutting-edge weapons" and "the one demonstrating the great firepower and maneuverability of the alliance".
As the world public raised deep concern and strong protest over the gravity of the drill, the U.S. announced before the start of the drill that the combined joint fire operation drill is defensive in essence and for helping display the mutual operation. In this way, the U.S. replaced the sensitive word "annihilation" from the drill's title with "operation" in a bid to cover up the drill's dangerousness.
But the south Korean puppet rascals persisted in terming it "combined joint fire annihilation drill", contending that "the aim of the drill is to improve the ability for carrying out the U.S.-south Korea combined joint operation" and that "they would "strengthen the deterrent through exercises for maneuverability and live firing". This clearly shows the bellicose true colors of the enemy trying to "exterminate" us under the pretext of "security".
The stooges of the U.S. so often say that all our acts pose a "serious threat" and theirs provide a "durable security", because they are under pressure of security uneasiness, persecution complex and obsession.
What cannot be overlooked is the fact that the enemy is waging another military action assuming serious aspect of a nuclear war, as well as the combined drill.
Even now, a joint air drill by the 7th U.S. air force and the south Korean puppet air force continues frantically in the sky above the region of the puppets. And a "joint sea intercepting drill" will be staged in the waters off Jeju Island from May 30, together with Japan and other vassal forces.
On the day of the start of the drill, the U.S. Defense Department announced that more strategic assets, including F-22s, F-35s and B-1 strategic bomber, would be deployed in the region of the puppets.
The present situation, in which the "combined joint fire annihilation drill" and other military moves are simultaneously pushed forward, clearly shows the sinister scheme of the enemies to launch an all-out aggression on the DPRK from the sky, land and sea at any moment by mobilizing even all their strategic assets.
This is very serious developments.
History showed that ceaseless military exercises and arms buildup by the imperialists and warmongers surely led to the criminal military action for invasion of other countries.
No one can vouch that the current combined drill of the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet rascals will not lead to an all-out armed invasion of the DPRK.
It is no exaggeration to say that the war scenario for aggression on the DPRK has already entered its implementation stage through training stage.
We'd like to ask them if they can cope with the consequences to be entailed by their reckless and dangerous war gambles that are being staged under the eyes of the armed forces of the DPRK they describe as very worrying and threatening.
