Housing Construction in Hwasong Area Progresses Apace   Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Gives Field Guidance at Construction Site of Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm Nearing Completion Pyongyang, November 27 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, gave field guidance at the construction site of the Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm nearing completion on Nov. 26. The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was accompanied by Jo Yong Won and Pak Jong Chon, secretaries of the WPK Central Committee, Kim Jae Ryong and Kim Yong Su, department directors of the WPK Central Committee, and Kim Chol Sam, chief secretary of the North Phyongan Provincial Committee of the WPK. Kim Jong Un was greeted on the spot by commanding officers of the units of the Korean People's Army and officials of the Paektusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade and designing and relevant institutions involved in the construction. He went round such main buildings as dome-shaped glass hydroponic greenhouse and greenhouses on soil, trunk road in the area of the farm, embankment construction site, etc. to learn in detail about their progress. Thanks to the devoted labor of the army units and the youth shock brigade members in the honorable day-and-night struggle for creation to greet the glorious Party Congress, the overall construction of the Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm is vigorously progressing at 97 percent. After the completion of the land leveling for the greening and the creation of a windbreak forest in the farm area, the land leveling of the areas around the natural parks and reservoir has been carried out at 97 percent and 87 percent respectively, the planting of turfs in the areas covering several hundred hectares at 95 percent and the pavement of trunk road in the farm area and roads in the greenhouse sections at 72 percent. And the farm is now making trial runs of the electric power, water supply and drainage systems for greenhouses, vegetable science research center, public buildings such as hostel, neighborhood-serving amenity, nursery and kindergarten and hundreds of dwellings. According to the Party's decision, all the projects for the development of this area have progressed on the principle of optimization to ensure profitability, he said, adding that, in particular, the improvements of the vast surrounding area such as road construction and landscaping in permanent embankment section have been carried out at a high qualitative level to preserve the features of the region and it is really good. He noted with great satisfaction that the islet, once called a barren land, has turned into a golden islet with great potential for leading the regional development and the improvement of the material and cultural life of the local people. Noting that we are witnessing the great changes in the region, which can never be neglected, he said that it is a pleasure to implement the grandiose plans and tasks for the comprehensive rejuvenation one by one and increase the wealth of creation but what our Party values more than it is that the young people are growing up to be the great cedars of patriotism in this course. He underscored that it is a pleasure and pride of our Party, state and people incomparable with fabulous wealth in the world that the new generations responsible for the future of this Korea have grown up to be the large unit of patriots who believe the motherland counts more than anything and feel the pride of doing revolution despite ordeals. He put stress on some tasks for completing the project and clarified the ways for the preparation of the operation of the farm and its management.   KCNA Commentary on U.S. Reckless Military Maneuvers Indicating Origin of Instability of Regional Situation Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- The U.S. reckless military moves that started at the very beginning of this year, gravely threatening the strategic stability in and around the Korean peninsula, are becoming more blatant even in the closing days of the year. Recently the U.S. and the ROK staged an anti-special operation naval drill in the waters near Phyongthaek, Kyonggi Province under the pretext of countering someone's "infiltration" by mobilizing a guided missile destroyer, anti-submarine helicopters, sea-patrol planes and other naval and air forces. And the U.S. has additionally deployed F-16 fighters to the Osan Air Base in Kyonggi Province, as part of the second-stage operational test of the "super-powerful wing", to intensify the joint operational capability. The U.S. is running amuck in its moves to increase the operational capability of two "super-powerful wings" it formed after forward-deploying F-16 fighters from the Kunsan Air Base in the ROK and the Misawa Air Base in Japan to the Osan Air Base only 64km from Seoul. It is an irrefutable fact that it is aimed at deterring the DPRK and regional countries by force and securing air superiority in contingency. The U.S.-ROK military drills and arms buildup targeting independent sovereign states in the region are not confined to the Korean peninsula. According to the media, the U.S. and the ROK launched the combined anti-submarine warfare exercises "Silent Shark" involving submarines and sea-patrol planes in the waters near Guam on Nov. 18 and the U.S. marines set up the Forward Arming and Refueling Point on Yonagni Island, Japan, within hailing distance of the Taiwan Strait on Nov. 21. Meanwhile, the U.S. often talked about "freedom of navigation" is going to stage the "Proliferation Security Initiative" drill in the sea of Japan from early December, together with its vassal forces including Japan and the ROK, aimed at violating the legitimate right of other countries to navigate and realizing the complete sea blockade. The U.S. habitual and reckless military moves in disregard of the repeated concerns of the international community clearly indicate where the origin of the instability of the regional situation is and who is the performer of the "unilateral changes to status quo" advocated by it. Through the military moves of the U.S. and the ROK, the regional countries are correctly diagnosing the essence of the "improved relations with regional countries" and "stability of situation" that they call for externally. The stereotyped expression of "regular drill" can never cover up the aggressive nature of the provocative acts with extreme belligerence and offensive nature and the fact that the U.S. is just an evil factor fostering the possibility of armed conflict. The U.S. is the chieftain threatening the peace and stability and destroying the strategic security balance. This fact has already been settled as an absolute value in the perception of the independent sovereign states in the region. It is the consistent principle and immutable stand of the DPRK to be prepared for countering the confrontation-oriented moves of the enemy states and any development of the situation that may result from them. We have already made it clear that all threats encroaching upon our sphere of security will become direct targets of the DPRK and be managed in a necessary way. The DPRK will further devote itself to defending its national sovereignty and interests and protecting the regional peace and stability through the exercise of its essential rights as the U.S. continues to renew its record in the demonstration of its military strength threatening the regional countries.   Housing Construction in Hwasong Area Progresses Apace Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- The military and civilian builders are pushing ahead with the interior projects at the final stage, after finishing the exterior ones for the construction of 10 000 flats at the fourth stage in the Hwasong area, with bold courage and redoubled efforts. The headquarters for building 50 000 flats in Pyongyang Municipality is conducting effective review and evaluation so that the builders carry out the detailed works as required by the construction methods while enhancing the role of construction officials and supervisors. While taking measures to ensure the internal temperature for coping with unfavorable seasonal conditions, it is organizing demonstrations according to processes purposefully so as to carry out daily quotas. The military and civilian builders involved in the construction of 10 000 flats at the fourth stage in the Hwasong area, with their political awareness that the historic cause for the comprehensive rejuvenation of the state and the promotion of the people's well-being begins with construction and is carried out along with construction, are making uninterrupted innovations with the enthusiasm to present a gift of loyalty to the Ninth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea.

der Schweizerischen Juche-Ideologie-Studiengruppe zur Würdigung des Seminars Unabhängigkeit, Frieden und soziale Entwicklung der Europäischen Regionalgesellschaft der Juche-Ideologie

Die Europäische Regionalgesellschaft der Juche-Ideologie (ERGJI) hielt am 2. November zur Feier des 40. Jahrestages ihrer Gründung in der finnischen Hauptstadt Helsinki das Seminar Unabhängigkeit, Frieden und soziale Entwicklung ab.

Das Seminar wurde präsidiert von Prof. Dr. Matteo Carbonelli, Generaldirektor der ERGJI, und Juha Kieksi, Generalsekretär der ERGJI und Vorsitzender der Finnischen Juche-Ideologie-Studiengruppe.

Eine Delegation der Botschaft der Demokratischen Volksrepublik Korea (DVRK) in Stockholm (Schweden) und eine Delegation des Internationalen Instituts der Juche-Ideologie (IIJI) wohnten dem Seminar als Gäste bei.

Delegierte aus Russland, Oesterreich, Bulgarien, Dänemark, Deutschland, der Slowakei und aus Grossbritannien waren online zugeschaltet.

Die Koreanische Vereinigung der Sozialwissenschaftler (Korean Association of Social Scientists - KASS) sandte eine Grussbotschaft an das Seminar.

Ken-ichi Ogami, Generalsekretär des IIJI, sandte den Beitrag Die Welt ist geeint unter der Solidarität der antiimperialistischen Self-Reliance.

Matteo Carbonellei gab einen Rückblick auf die 40-jährige Geschichte der ERGJI und pries die Das-Volk-zuerst-Politik des Generalsekretärs KIM JONG UN und der Partei der Arbeit Koreas (PdAK).

Alexander Woronzow, ein namhafter russischer Experte für internationale Beziehungen, hielt online eine Rede.

Dr. Dermot Hudson, Vorsitzender der Britischen Juche-Ideologie-Studiengruppe, hob hervor, dass es vielen europäischen Ländern an echter Unabhängigkeit mangle, da sie Mitglieder der NATO seien und USA-Truppen dort stationiert seien. Deshalb sei es besonders wichtig, die Juche-Ideologie in Europa zu verbreiten.

Child Health Day Marked in DPRK   Proud Labour Gifts of Creators of Spirit of Kangwon Province to Glorious Party Congress Inauguration Ceremony of Hoeyang Army-People Power Station Held with Splendour Pyongyang, November 21 (KCNA) -- Kangwon Province greeted the significant and auspicious event of inauguration which signals the completion of the hydropower stations it pledged before the Party when the whole country is full of the spirit of the vigorous advance of all the people to celebrate the Ninth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea as the one of great victory and glory. The Hoeyang Army-People Power Station, which has been completed following the army-people power stations in Ichon, Munchon, Sepho, Phyonggang and Kosong, is the last project of the six hydropower stations on which Kangwon Province has concentrated all its efforts after setting it as an important task to build them without fail for the regional economic development and the improvement of the people's material and cultural life, true to the important task of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un to go on to push ahead with the construction of small- and medium-sized hydropower stations. The completion of another power base which the province had envisaged during the five-year plan for national economic development makes it possible for Kangwon Province to further strengthen its solid foundation for proudly writing a new history of prosperity along with the era of regional development and its development potential for creating a more affluent life by its own efforts. The inauguration ceremony of the Hoeyang Army-People Power Station was held with splendour on November 20. The venue of the ceremony was filled with great pride and self-confidence of the people in Kangwon Province who have built valuable assets of prosperity with their own efforts and confidence in their own strength. Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, attended the inauguration ceremony. When he arrived at the venue of the inauguration ceremony, stormy cheers of "Hurrah!" shook the earth and sky. All the participants enthusiastically cheered, looking up to Kim Jong Un, who personally visited the power station in the mountainous area to bestow great love and honour on them. Present there were members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and other leading officials of the Party and government, chief secretaries of the provincial committees of the WPK, chairpersons of the provincial people's committees, officials and workers in Kangwon Province and Hoeyang County, military and civilian builders and employees of the power station. The DPRK national anthem was played. Ju Mun Jin, chairman of the Kangwon Provincial People's Committee, delivered an inaugural speech. The speaker said that the people in Kangwon Province, who are imbued with the revolutionary idea of self-respect and self-sustenance of the WPK as absolute truth, greeted the moment of honour of making a report of loyalty and victory to the Party Central Committee on the building of another proud creation. The building of the six power stations simultaneously by the efforts of the province was a stiff and gigantic nature-remaking project baffling the existing idea and common sense and there were not a few obstacles in the construction, but thanks to the trust and leadership of the Party Central Committee, Party members and other working people in the province could wage a heroic struggle for the consecutive grand construction full of confidence and courage, he noted. He referred to the fact that Kim Jong Un solved all the problems and meticulously led the construction of the power stations saying that it is necessary to help Kangwon Province set an example in realizing the intention of the Party which calls for living on the strength of self-reliance. He stressed that the power stations built in different parts of the province including the Hoeyang Army-People Power Station are a precious fruition of the revolutionary ideas of Kim Jong Un and a proud monument to the new era erected thanks to his absolute trust in the people in Kangwon Province and energetic leadership. The speaker expressed the firm determination to make Kangwon Province take the lead in the worthwhile struggle for carrying out the tasks at the new stage of socialist construction to be set forth by the Ninth Congress of the WPK true to the ideas and leadership of the Party Central Committee. Kim Jong Un made a meaningful speech. In the period when the whole country is filled with enthusiasm to substantially wind up the year 2025 that must be recorded in history without fail as a year of victory, it is very auspicious that the Hoeyang Army-People Power Station is to be inaugurated, he said. He noted that those power stations, which have sprung up in different parts of the province that truthfully tells the history of the struggle of the army and the people to defend the country together, are fortresses of faith in socialism built by the concerted efforts of the soldiers and civilians to make firmer and more beautiful this precious land defended at the cost of blood. For the future, for the coming generations–this is the inscription to be carved in the power stations in Kangwon Province by the times and history, he said, extending warm thanks, on behalf of the Party Central Committee, to the people in Kangwon Province and the service personnel of the Korean People’s Army for presenting to the Ninth Congress of our Party a valuable asset, which will bring benefits to the coming generations as well, by building solid power production bases, self-reliant and self-supporting, through a resolute and uninterrupted struggle. Hailing the indomitable spirit of the people in Kangwon Province of creating a history of transformation by braving challenges and the disposition and mettle of doing without fail what is determined to do as the great spirit of Kangwon Province, he extended once again warm greetings of encouragement to the conquerors of nature, artists of miracles in our era and wished Kangwon Province a new appearance, which will be transformed and prosper as the days go by, and its people a happier life. When Kim Jong Un finished his speech, all the participants broke into enthusiastic cheers as a token of their gratitude to the great father of the people who highly values the life and the struggle of the people in Kangwon Province as the culmination of the times. The fireworks were set off and a large number of balloons sent up into the sky of November, wonderfully adorning the venue of the inaugural ceremony that will shine forever as an immortal picture recorded on the glorious road of advance for self-reliance. Kim Jong Un shook hands with every official and meritorious person, who performed remarkable labour feats in the construction of the power station, highly commending them for their efforts and devotion. Then he went round the room dedicated to the history of the power station, control room, generator room, etc. to learn about their conditions. Saying that Kangwon Province completed the construction of six hydropower stations including the Hoeyang Army-People Power Station during the term of the Eighth Party Central Committee, true to the pledge it made to the Party, he noted that it is a manifestation of the indomitable will of its people to unyieldingly go along the road of self-reliance, following the Party only, with unwavering faith in the justness of the line and policies of our Party. He stressed that the people in Kangwon Province are, indeed, the embodiments of the pioneering spirit, models of our times who prove with their steadfast patriotic loyalty and persistent efforts the vitality of the Party's policy which demonstrates the truth that self-reliance is the only way to survive and anything is possible when one holds fast to the spirit of self-reliance and self-development as the driving force. Enjoying the panoramic view of the magnificent dam of the power station, he noted that great is the might of the great unity between the army and the people and the monumental edifices which were recorded as another brilliant page in the history of the struggle of the people in Kangwon Province will hand down forever the patriotic feats of our generation who are ushering in the era of comprehensive national prosperity and writing a new history of regional transformation. Acquainting himself with the construction of six hydropower stations Kangwon Province built by its own efforts and future plan for creating new capacity of generating electricity, he gave precious instructions to be implemented in building hydropower stations and strengthening the independent economic foundations of the province. He expressed expectation and belief that the people in Kangwon Province would further exert their miraculous might, with which they opened up the clear prospect of solving the electricity problem most essential for developing the economy of their region and improving their material and cultural life, to continue taking the lead in the historic struggle for the victorious advance of the socialist construction of our style. The splendid inauguration ceremony attended by leading officials of the Party and government clearly proved the justness and vitality of the ideas and policies of our Party which calls for vigorously opening up a broad avenue for the comprehensive socialist development on the strength of self-reliance, and served as a meaningful occasion of further inspiring self-confidence that the eternal prosperity is in store for the people when they rely on their own strength and carve out their future by their own efforts.   Kimchi-making Custom with Long History Pyongyang, November 21 (KCNA) -- In the DPRK, November is the season to prepare kimchi for winter. In the country, there are many kimchi factories, such as Hwasong Kimchi Factory, but most of the households are busy making kimchi with lots of whole cabbages and radishes as it is the traditional food of the country. According to historical data, the name of kimchi is said to have originated from the word "Chimchae" meaning a vegetable preserved in salty water, or the word "Kumchae" meaning precious food like gold. Ri Kyu Bo, a famous poet in the period of Koryo (918-1392), says in his poem that pickled radishes are a good side dish in summer and kimchi is eaten during winter. Judging by this, kimchi has been used as a main side dish indispensable to the Korean people's diet since olden times. For a long time, the Korean people have been saying that they can not eat a good meal without kimchi, so they have always been having heavy or light meals with kimchi. During this, they created kimchi-related proverbs, such as "A tree grows on water, man lives on kimchi". Households are now busy pickling cabbages cut into halves, chopping radishes to make hot pickles of the radishes, getting kimchi jars, etc. The neighbours sit around and put hot chopped radishes between heads of the cabbages, which show well the beautiful trait and manner of our people helping and leading one another forward. The DPRK people's custom of making kimchi was registered as one of the world intangible cultural heritages in 2015.   Child Health Day Marked in DPRK Pyongyang, November 21 (KCNA) -- An event took place at the Taedongmun Kindergarten in Central District of the DPRK on Thursday to mark Child Health Day. Present there were members of the Korean Association for Supporting the Children, officials of the Ministry of Public Health and officials and kindergarteners of the units of nursing and upbringing children in Pyongyang. A speaker said at the event that in the country which spares nothing for the rising generations, the healthcare and treatment of children and the contents and methods of nursing and upbringing them are being improved in keeping with the world's development trend, and the institutions for nursing and upbringing children across the country are turning into the cradles of happiness. Then, followed a presentation on the qualitative development of the growth of children and vaccination of children. That day the participants enjoyed a congratulatory performance given by the children of Taedongmun Kindergarten.

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Pays Congratulatory Visit to Ministry of State Security   Inauguration Ceremony of Kangdong County Hospital Held with Splendor Pyongyang, November 20 (KCNA) -- At a time when essential projects at a trial stage are being successfully completed as part of the meaningful process of more expansive and new qualitative development in achieving the epochal cause of regional change acclaimed by the people and urged by the times, a modern regional hospital was inaugurated to prove the vigorous speed and bright prospect of the development of public health of our own style. The splendid inauguration ceremony of the Kangdong County Hospital for the Regional Development 20×10 Policy was held on Nov. 19 as another remarkable result of expanding and promoting the Party's grand programme for regional development on a long-term basis. The venue of the inauguration ceremony was filled with great pride of soldier-builders who dedicated their toil and sweat to successfully build the creation of civilization for the people, following the road of valuable service at the outpost of the gigantic regional revolution, and excitement of the participants who gathered to celebrate the great auspicious event brought about by the policy of the Workers' Party of Korea. Kim Jong Un made a meaningful speech in commemoration of the inauguration of the Kangdong County Hospital.
