Kim Il Sung and June 6
On June 6, Juche 35 (1946) the meeting for founding the Korean Children’s Union was held with splendour in Pyongyang in the presence of President Kim Il Sung. The day is recorded as a significant one in the history of the Korean children’s movement.
When Kim Il Sung took the platform, looking with pleasure at the venue of the meeting filled with children with red ties around their necks and bundles of flowers and flags in their hands, the place resounded with the cheers of “Long live General Kim Il Sung, sagacious leader of our nation!”
After waving back to the cheering crowds, he delivered a meaningful speech in congratulation of the founding of the KCU. In his speech he said that KCU members are the flower buds of a new Korea, the land of morning calm, filled with hope and that they should become pillars of future Korea who add glory to the country with new pleasure of a new Korea.
He then stressed the need for them to grow up into the masters of the country who would love their country and people and into a younger generation of the revolution who are knowledgeable, morally sound and physically strong, and to find and do more good things for the prosperity of their country.
At the end of the speech, he called for KCU members to become heroes in building a new democratic Korea by growing healthily and studying hard as befit the treasures and masters of a new Korea.
When he concluded his speech, stormy cheers of “Hurrah!” burst forth again.
Columns of demonstrators marched past the streets in Pyongyang to celebrate the founding of the KCU.
In retrospect, the first children’s organization in Korea was the Saenal Children’s Union founded by Kim Il Sung on December 15, Juche 15 (1926).
As the origin of the Korean children’s movement, the Saenal Children’s Union developed into the Children’s Corps and then the Korean Children’s Union, a mass-based children’s organization, after the liberation of the country on August 15, 1945.
The KCU which proclaimed its birth in the presence of Kim Il Sung has been steadily developed into a powerful children’s political organization as it discharges with credit its noble mission of training its members into the reserve force for the revolution.
The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea celebrates in grand style June 6 as one of its national holidays every year.
The Future Korea Belongs to Members of Korean Children’s Union
We are marking the 76th founding anniversary of the Korean Children’s Union with the song “We are the happiest in the world” resounding endlessly in the sky of the socialist Korea.
On June 6, 1946, President Kim Il Sung founded the Korean Children’s Union, a mass organization of the Korean children which inherited the valuable tradition of the anti-Japanese children’s corps, and he has built a kingdom of children on this land, bestowing on them the great love unprecedented in history during the whole period of his revolutionary leadership.
Chairman Kim Jong Il set forth the upbringing of posterity as the most important task related to the prospect of revolution and found his happiness and pride in the happy smiles of our children, though he had been through cold wind, snow and rain on this land as well as all sorts of hardships.
When the country was in grim period, he made sure that the field colors of the Korean Children’s Corps flutter high at every camp throughout the country and made the sound of children reading texts and their laughter of optimism reverberate far and wide though the state was in a difficult situation.
His unforgettable love still touches the hearts of our new generation.
With the same noble outlook on posterity and future kept by the President and the Chairman, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un is now making tireless efforts to bring up our schoolchildren into future pillars of the powerful socialist country.
Holding up the members of the Korean Children’s Union as the precious treasure of priceless worth and the entirety of hope and future, the respected Marshal has provided the access to universal 12-year compulsory education system, built the highest grade of dandy schoolchildren’s camps, palaces, primary boarding schools and secondary boarding schools equipped with wonderful conditions and environment for education in every part of the country, and presented new school uniforms and high quality school things. Under such warm love, our schoolchildren are now growing up to become the strong pillars who would support and build the great country of people.
“Let us always be ready for the socialist motherland”; this is now becoming the unanimous aspiration of the members of the Korean Children’s Union.
That is why the numerous foreigners who visit our country express their feelings in great admiration, saying “People in the capitalist countries have no idea what kinds of benefits children in the DPRK are receiving from the state, and how the good model of love for posterity is being created.”; “DPRK is the kingdom and heaven for children. ”; “Nowhere in the world can be found such blessed generation like the schoolchildren of the DPRK where they are living as one family having H.E. Kim Jong Un as their father.”
There are no such schoolchildren in the world as our children who are stoutly preparing themselves to be masters and pillars of the country, giving full play to their dreams and hopes without any worry and anxiety under the great benevolence of the Party and the state.
The entire people of the country are feeling quite confident of the bright future of the country in the bright and high-spirited appearances of the members of the Korean Children’s Union who are growing up with nothing to envy in the world in the love of the respected Marshal for posterity and future.
Farce Dancing After U.S. Tune in Realizing Its Hostile Policy Towards DPRK
Recently, G7 foreign ministers and the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy announced what is called a “joint statement” which picks on our measure to bolster defense capabilities saying that it is a blatant violation of the UNSC “resolutions” and an “act undermining international peace and security as well as the global non-proliferation regime”.
We resolutely denounce and reject this as an outrageous infringement upon the legitimate right to self-defense of a sovereign state and intolerable interference in its internal affairs.
The announcement of “joint statement” by G7 is below any notice as it is a farce which divorces from the root cause of increased tension on the Korean peninsula and allows itself to dance to the U.S. tune in realizing its hostile policy towards the DPRK to weaken and deny our sovereignty and the rights to existence and development. But I want to mention about G7’s foolish attempts to stir up the international atmosphere of putting pressure on the DPRK by bringing in even the foreign policy chief of the EU which is not a G7 member state.
We have never recognized the so-called UNSC “resolution”, a product of the U.S. hostile policy towards the DPRK which seeks to disarm our dignified Republic so as to realize its ambition of overthrowing the system.
To steadily build up our military capabilities to cope with the political and military environment created on the Korean peninsula by the U.S. which is running amuck to stifle our Republic; it is a legitimate right of a sovereign state.
In recent years alone, the U.S. staged joint military drills targeting our country hundreds of times and tested all kinds of strategic weapons. Besides this, it is seriously threatening the security of our state by deploying ultra-modern military offensive means and dispatching strategic assets in rapid succession to the region surrounding the Korean peninsula.
It is none other than the U.S. and its vassal states who are posing a grave danger to the global non-proliferation regime with the foundation of “AUKUS”. It is also them who are perpetrating acts of undermining peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region by dispatching nuclear-powered aircraft carriers and various warships to the region.
Stability could have been maintained so far on the Korean peninsula and in the region. It is entirely attributable to the fact that we have built powerful war deterrence to cope with the persistent military threats of the hostile forces which have lasted more than half a century.
G7 including the U.S. stand first in conducting nuclear and missile tests, and they upset the balance of power by continuously selling various war equipment to south Korea. It is quite absurd that they say this and that about so-called “non-proliferation” while making accusations against our measures to build up the self-defense capacities.
The more the U.S. clings to the anti-DPRK pressure campaign by rallying its vassal states, the more we will accelerate our self-defensive measures.
If the EU is really desirous of peace and security on the Korean peninsula, they should not blindly follow the U.S hostile policy towards the DPRK, the root cause of instability, but it should first call into question the arms build-up as well as the joint military exercise conducted annually by the U.S.

Japan is an Impudent Lawless State of Destroying Life of Humankind and Ecosystem
It is one year since Japan adopted a decision in defiance of the strong opposition at home and abroad to discharge into the sea highly concentrated radioactive waste water which had been generated during the accident at Fukushima nuclear power plant.
During the period, Japan resorted to all kinds of trickery to discharge waste water at all costs, advertising “safety” of the waste water with a claim that it thoroughly filtered out most of radioactive substances.
Prime Minister and other Cabinet members made clear the government intention to push ahead with the discharge of waste water into the sea, insisting on every possible occasion that the “discharge of waste water into the sea is unavoidable”. Recently, they had the Nuclear Regulatory Commission announce the findings that the plan for discharging waste water does not cause a problem in terms of its security.
With regard to this, President of Japanese National Fishermen’s Cooperative Association and those engaged in fishery stated that the discharge of waste water into the sea which did not gain an understanding from the nation and fishery parties can never be tolerated and that they remain unchanged in their stand against it.
The neighboring countries are also expressing grave concern over Japan’s irresponsible and overbearing step.
The tritium and other radioactive substances endanger human lives and eco-safety. It is a universal knowledge that the nuclear waste water, which Japan is trying to discharge into the sea, contains these radioactive substances beyond tolerable limits.
It is too obvious to Japan, a concerned party that if the radioactive waste water is discharged into the coast of Fukushima which is noted for strong currents in the world, waters in the East Sea of Korea will be contaminated in a few months and furthermore, the whole of the Pacific Ocean will be contaminated.
Despite these facts, Japan is hell-bent on pushing ahead with this discharging plan. Through this, we can clearly understand that Japan is indeed an extremely impudent lawless state that does not hesitate to victimize the whole of humankind, to say nothing of life safety of its own people, when it comes to its selfish objectives.
The international society should show zero tolerance to Japan in its impudent attempt to utterly destroy the very life of humankind and ecosystem.

In the Face of Challenge and Difficulties

A serious public health crisis persists in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, but not a shadow of disappointment and despair can be found. To defend the lives and safety of the people, officials of the ruling Workers’ Party of Korea and government organs and medics of the Korean People’s Army are going among them, vehicles carrying foodstuffs and medicines are running to every nook and cranny of the country, medical personnel are visiting the people regularly, and neighbourhood unit heads and itinerary service teams are calling on the residents under their charge with essential consumer goods. All the people are helping and caring for others and overcoming the challenge and difficulties on the strength of virtue and human feeling.
