Anniversary of Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un's Election as
General Secretary of WPK Marked
Pyongyang, January 10 (KCNA) -- The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was elected as general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) on Jan. 10, Juche 110, (2021). The Korean people are greeting this significant anniversary.
Today the WPK is confidently leading the socialist cause despite stern ordeals and difficulties and achieving great victory and epochal changes.
This is a fruition of the outstanding leadership of the respected General Secretary who provided the precious guidelines and indicated ever-victorious path for remarkably enhancing the leadership ability and fighting efficiency of the WPK.
At the 8th Congress of the WPK, Kim Jong Un provided a militant banner to be maintained in continuously enhancing the Party's leadership ability and fighting efficiency, mentioning such problems for steadily intensifying the work to establish the monolithic leadership system of the Party Central Committee while regarding it as the main task and for radically improving the form and method of ideological education as required by the developing reality.
At the Sixth Conference of Cell Secretaries of the WPK, he said that the WPK must, at all costs, prove itself worthy of the great trust of the people who unreservedly address it as "mother" and, to this end, it must become a genuine "servant" party for them.
In his important speech made at a lecture to commemorate the 76th founding anniversary of the WPK, he advanced the immortal great programme of weighty significance in further developing the party building, activities and overall work to promote the building of Korean-style socialism to a brilliant victory.
He convened the 2nd Conference of Secretaries of the Primary Committees of the WPK, a special workshop for officials in the Party life guidance sections of organizational departments of party committees at all levels of the WPK and the 1st short course of officials in the field of information work of the WPK to ensure that the WPK more creditably discharge its leadership mission as the general staff of the revolution than ever before.
In particular, his historic lecture given in October last to clarify the orientation of party building in the new era is a far-sighted programme for the party building that indicates the road of leading the WPK's ruling history of nearly 80 years into the history of 800 and 8 000 years by ushering in a new heyday of strengthening the whole party with the significant day marking the 96th anniversary of the formation of the Down-with-Imperialism Union as the starting point.
Thanks to his energetic leadership, the WPK has further developed into a promising revolutionary party and a militant socialist ruling party along with a new heyday of strengthening the whole party opened up.
Society Overflows with Noble Virtues and Affection
In the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea where its people regard it as their ennobling virtues and traits to devote themselves for the sake of others, they are displaying many beautiful traits of regarding others’ pain as their own and helping and leading one another forward.
Tears of gratitude
One August day in 2022, Ri Song Min, who worked at the Hamhung City Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, visited the family of a couple of farmers at the Jungho Farm in Hoesang District, Hamhung City, South Hamgyong Province.
That day, he came across on a street their son who was suffering from speech disorders because of congenital disease. He asked them about medical treatment for their son. As he was told of their worries, he inspired them to cure their son’s disease at any cost together.
A few days later, he visited their home again and took them to the Hamhung Orthopaedic Hospital, saying that he found a way for treating the disease.
Medical workers at the hospital held several rounds of consultation to find a new surgical method suited to the patient’s conditions and made painstaking efforts for successful operation.
Officials in the city and district frequented the hospital to learn about his treatment. Doctors and nurses stayed up all night beside his bed. Thanks to their devoted efforts, the boy left the hospital with a beaming smile on his face.
Looking at the tenderhearted persons who took warm care of their son though they had different jobs and age and residence, his parents were moved to tears of gratitude for the socialist country overflowing with noble virtues and affection.
Grateful teacher
Not long ago, Kang Song Yon, teacher at Kangchol Primary School in Chollima District of Nampho City, was highly appreciated in the city for having created a new, excellent teaching method.
She visited Hong Sun Chol, her former teacher at Kangson College of Technology, to share her joy with him.
She got acquainted with him when she lost her parents the same day in an accident. At that time, he had been teaching at her school. He took her to his home, and she began to go to school at his home and later entered a college as she had wished.
Hong’s sincerity for his disciple continued unabated even after she has grown up. After he was transferred to Kangson College of Technology, Hong frequently visited her at dormitory to take meticulous care of her life. When she was appointed a teacher at Kangchol Primary School after her graduation from the college, he secured reference books necessary for her teaching and edification and walked even in dark nights to help her study a new teaching method for developing intelligence of her pupils.
Deeply moved by Hong, who has always led her with sincerity not only in her middle school and college days but today when she has become a teacher, Song Yon made a firm resolve to be an excellent educator like him all her life.
Going to school on teacher’s piggyback
It’s become commonplace for residents in Neighbourhood Unit No. 126 in the township of Kilju County, North Hamgyong Province, to see Kim Sol Gyong, teacher at Kilju Primary School in Kilju County, who carries her pupil Yun Yong Gyong to the school, piggyback, every early morning.
Yong Gyong had been unable to go out of her house because of her difficult physical conditions suffering from congenital disease. When she reached school age, her parents felt heartache. One evening, officials and teachers at a primary school visited them and asked them to pool efforts to bring up their daughter into a fine pupil. Her parents shed tears of gratitude for them.
From next day, Kim Sol Gyong, teacher in charge of her, began to come to her house early in the morning and take her to school, piggyback. All villagers also helped the teacher as they keenly felt the latter’s sincerity.
Along with the passage of time, well-wishers’ sincerity for the little girl is becoming ever stronger.
It is the common wish of all children in the world to receive warm blessings from their parents at daybreak of the New Year.
Hence, all the parents on this land, when they greet the New Year, wish their children brighter future, carrying a feeling of love and affection.
For this reason, children bereaved of their parents feel the sorrow of being orphans than any other time when they greet the New Year or the lunar New Year.
It is no other than the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who was considerate to the innermost feelings of these children and showered them fatherly love that far outweighs combined affection of all parents in this world.
On January 1st 2015, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said that orphans long for affection more than anyone else and that we should bring them up good and upright in their parents’ stead. He then visited Pyongyang Baby’s Home and Pyongyang Children’s Home to see the children just after delivering the New Year’s address.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un tenderly stroked the cheeks of the children who presented him with fragrant bouquets and offered their New Year’s greetings. He then wished them good luck in the New Year, hoping to see them grow well both in mind and body.
On this day, he spent a lot of time to see the performance prepared by the children of Pyongyang Children’s Home. He was the first to give a big applause to them. After the performance, each of the children ran to cling to his bosom saying “Father Marshal!” and “Father!”. Embracing them in his bosom of love, he also took a meaningful photo.
He repeatedly entrusted the officials, caregivers, teachers and workers of Pyongyang Baby’s Home and Pyongyang Children’s Home should with a good care of the children with motherly affection. He also left a meaningful teaching that an army man or woman, a doctor and a hero be produced among them by cultivating their creativity, independence and individuality along with sound moral traits.
In the look of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who put aside many other important state affairs and found himself among the children to give them love and affection from the first day of the New Year, our people saw the benevolent images of the great President and the great Chairman who had always directed attentions to the upbringing of parentless children.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un is a great sun who looks after all the children including the parentless children in this country with the fervent love, carrying combined hearts of the peerless great men. As we hold him in high esteem as the father of big socialist family, this country will write countless tales of love for the future, which would touch the hearts of world people.
Pyongyang Raengmyon Custom, Pride of Korean Nation
Pyongyang, January 9 (KCNA) -- Among the excellent cultural heritages of the Korean nation is "Pyongyang Raengmyon (cold noodle) Custom" registered as a typical intangible cultural heritage of mankind in November last year.
Pyongyang cold noodle is one of the typical national dishes of Korea. In the medieval period, cold noodle of the northwestern area (Phyongan Province), especially Pyongyang cold noodle, had been regarded as the best among the noodles in Korea.
Pyongyang cold noodle is famous for its noodle material, noodle broth, garnish, seasoning, etc. Its main material is buckwheat.
From olden times, the Korean people had prepared Pyongyang cold noodle for reception of guests at ordinary times and celebrating ceremonies.
The traditional Pyongyang cold noodle custom has been further developed and enriched under the Workers' Party of Korea's policy of protecting national heritage.
A noodle contest would be held significantly among restaurants in the capital city of Pyongyang to develop its taste.
Books on Pyongyang cold noodle were published to help people know better about the traditional Pyongyang cold noodle custom of the nation.
In June Juche 110 (2021), the Third Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea adopted a resolution to establish a policy of supplying all children across the country with dairy products and other nourishing food at the state’s expense.
All provinces, cities and counties of the country have since made vigorous efforts to increase production of dairy goods.
Many livestock farms increased the number of goats and milch cows and enhanced the scientific level of breeding onto a higher level. Foodstuff factories further boosted the capacity of producing powdered and acidophilus milk, and renovated milk processing techniques.
As a result, all provinces, cities and counties supplied dairy goods to nursery and kindergarten children on a regular basis in 2022.
Officials in the capital city of Pyongyang increased the number of goats in several livestock farms, further increased milk production as against the previous period through scientific and technical breeding and introduced efficient powdered milk production equipment with the assistance of scientific research units.
South Hamgyong Province built barley sprout cultivation grounds in the Hungsang Milch Cow Farm and a stock-farm in Kumya County to solve feed problem, and newly established acidophilus milk production lines at foodstuff factories in cities and counties so as to ensure the regular supply of dairy goods to all children in the province.
North Hamgyong Province renovated goat farms in cities and counties to provide a guarantee for boosting milk production.
North Phyongan Province vigorously conducted a renovation of a goat farm and newly created vast areas of pasture.
Many provinces frequently organized powered milk shows and technical workshops in order to promote the work for increasing the varieties of powdered and acidophilus milk, yogurt and other dairy goods and improving their quality.
