New Hotels Inaugurated in Samjiyon Tourist Resort of DPRK

Pyongyang, December 23 (KCNA) -- Thanks to the direct initiative and energetic leadership of the great Workers' Party of Korea Central Committee, modern hotels have been newly built and inaugurated in Samjiyon City, whose attractive appearance undergoes a better transformation as a typical mountainous city in the northern part of the DPRK and a unique all-season mountainous tourist resort.

The hotels, built to exhibit special architectural beauty and provide peculiar service in good harmony with the magnificence of nature in the Mt Paektu area, along with the symbolic names peculiar to the Samjiyon area such as Sobaeksu, Ikal, Potnamu and Chongbong, are the proud creations of our era when a new phase has been opened up in building public service centres in all aspects of contents and forms.

Inauguration ceremonies of five hotels newly built in the Samjiyon Tourist Resort took place on December 20 and 21.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un attended the inauguration ceremony of the Ikal and Milyong hotels on Dec. 20.

When he arrived, all the participants raised stormy cheers as a token of their great reverence for him who is bringing earlier the rosy future of Korean-style socialism with his untiring thought and devotion out of his fervent desire to make our people the most dignified who have nothing to envy in the world.

Present at the ceremonies were officials of ministries, national agencies and armed forces organs, officials in Samjiyon City and employees of the hotels.

Speeches were made at the ceremonies.

Referring to the painstaking efforts made by Kim Jong Un to bring about a great transformation in the Paektu area, where beautiful scenes, indescribable with the mysterious sceneries of nature only, are being witnessed, the speakers said that the hotels are the meaningful creations heralding the emergence of a large tourist zone covering Mt Paektu, Mt Pukphothae and Mt Namphothae.

Expressing belief that Samjiyon City will soon be renowned as an attractive mountainous tourist resort and leisure ground for the people, they declared the completion of the hotels.

Ceremonial services were given to commemorate the inauguration of the hotels.

Kim Jong Un, together with the participants, went round the hotels.

Going round bedrooms of hotels, cosy leisure spaces and commercial and public catering facilities, he appreciated that all elements are at a high level in terms of practicality, diversity and formative art to preserve their own attractiveness.

He said that he was pleased to see such wonderful public service facilities built in Samjiyon City.

Referring to the importance of the hotels' position and role in creating the culture of tourism in the country and promoting tourism, he said that service facilities are important in developing tourism, but the main thing is the quality of service. He called for directing primary efforts to improving the service capacity and professional qualifications of service workers in hotels.

To this end, it arises as an essential requirement to further expand and strengthen the national system of training professional service workers, he said, stressing the need to proactively develop new service industries capable of fully satisfying the customers' different demands.

He expressed his unshakable will to turn Samjiyon City better into an innovative and highly civilized city representing the tourism culture of the country, noting that to build the entities of modern civilization in tourist attractions on a large scale, along with the on-going new history of radical development and transformation in different parts of the capital and the regions, is just a clear proof of the ever-growing ideal of our people and our state's potential for development.

Expressing expectation and belief that the officials and employees of the hotels would achieve successes in their work, he wished the hotels prosperity.

Inauguration ceremonies of the Sobaeksu Hotel, Chongbong Hotel and the Potnamu Hotel took place on December 21.

The participants in the ceremonies went round smart rooms satisfying various tastes of guests, different service facilities providing abundant cultural living environments, indoor and outdoor spas arousing sweet feelings and fresh vitality in all seasons and other parts of the hotels.

They deeply realized the eye-opening reality of the country which is undergoing transformation with each passing year thanks to the noble intention and determined efforts of Kim Jong Un, who is absolutely subordinating everything to the sake of the people, and the new vibrant civilization coming closer to the people's life.

The completion of modern hotels demonstrating the dynamic changes in Samjiyon City vividly shows the high spirit of our state, which is advancing steadily toward a high stage of comprehensive prosperity and development under the great leadership of Kim Jong Un, and the bright prospect of the Mt Paektu area which will shine more brilliantly as a world-renowned scenic spot.

 

Online Joint Seminar and Photo Exhibition in Brazil

Pyongyang, December 23 (KCNA) -- An online joint seminar and a photo exhibition of Brazilian political parties and organizations took place on December 16 on the occasion of the 14th anniversary of demise of Chairman Kim Jong Il.

Present at the seminar "Comrade Kim Jong Il, leader of the people" and the exhibition "Leader Kim Jong Il among the people" were personages of political parties and organizations, including the Brazilian Communist Party, the Brazilian Center for Peace and Solidarity with Peoples, the Brazilian institute of Paektu and the Brazilian Center for the Study of the Juche Idea, and members of the organization for the study of Juche idea and organizations for friendship and solidarity with the Korean people.

Speeches were made at the events.

Recollecting once again the noble career and exploits of the great Comrade        Kim Jong Il who devoted himself to the Korean revolution and the global cause of socialism on the occasion of the anniversary of his demise, a member of the National Political Committee of the Brazilian Communist Party said:

Comrade Kim Jong Il was a great revolutionary and prominent leader who comprehensively systematized and enriched the Juche idea founded by President      Kim Il Sung, successfully carried forward the revolutionary cause of the President and led it to victory.

Thanks to his wise leadership, the Korean people could dynamically accelerate the revolution and construction, bravely frustrating the aggressive moves of the imperialist allied forces.

The great exploits performed by Comrade Kim Jong Il for the Korean revolution and the cause of independence against imperialism will always be remembered by the Korean people and the world progressives.

The chairman of the Brazilian institute of Paektu and the chairperson of the Brazilian Center for Peace and Solidarity with Peoples praised Kim Jong Il as a peerless statesman and outstanding leader who firmly defended and steadily advanced the socialist cause of Juche under the uplifted banner of Songun, stressing that his idea and cause are being carried forward by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

 

Foreign Personages Visit DPRK Missions

Pyongyang, December 23 (KCNA) -- Foreign personages of various circles visited the DPRK missions in their countries from December 11 to 17 on the occasion of the 14th anniversary of demise of Chairman Kim Jong Il.

Personages of political parties, organizations and institutions of different countries, including the China World Peace Foundation, the Beijing Chao Ya International Cultural Exchange Center in China, the Stroidilprom Co. Ltd. of Russia, the Belarus Association of Friends of Korean People Named after Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, the Belarusian Group for Solidarity with the DPRK, the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea and the Mexico-Korea Solidarity Committee, laid flower baskets and bouquets and made a bow before the portraits of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman           Kim Jong Il and art works depicting the President and the Chairman standing together.
