National Meeting Marks 64th Birthday of DPRK
A national meeting was held at the April 25 House of Culture on September 8 to celebrate the 64th birthday of the DPRK.
Present
there were senior party, state and army officials including Kim Yong
Nam, Choe Yong Rim and Choe Ryong Hae, officials of the party, armed
forces, power organs, social organizations, ministries and national
institutions, chairpersons of friendly parties, servicepersons of the
Korean People's Army and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces,
officials in the fields of science, education, literature and arts,
public health and media, labor innovators and other people in Pyongyang.
Overseas compatriots and the chief of the Pyongyang mission of the
Anti-imperialist National Democratic Front also attended.
Present
there on invitation were diplomatic envoys of different countries,
members of the military attaches corps and representatives of
international organizations here and foreign guests.
Choe
Yong Rim, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C.,
the Workers' Party of Korea and premier of the DPRK Cabinet, made a
report.
He said:
The
founding of the DPRK on Sept. 9, 1948 by President Kim Il Sung was a
solemn declaration of the birth of people's Korea, the first people's
country in the colonial East, and a great event which opened a new era
of building the socialist state centered on the popular masses.
The
founding of the DPRK made the country which had been eclipsed on the
world map emerge as a legitimate independent and sovereign state in the
international arena and enabled the Korean people to become masters of
the country and the society for the first time in the history. It also
helped them have a powerful political weapon to victoriously accomplish
the revolutionary cause of Juche.
Leader
Kim Jong Il who remained loyal to the President's idea and cause of
nation-building put forth the original theory of nation-building based
on the revolutionary outlook of the leader and led the drive for
carrying them out, thus strengthening the DPRK into the country of the
President in name and reality.
Kim
Jong Il made sure that Kim Il Sung was held in high esteem as the
eternal President of the DPRK and led the efforts to solve all the
problems arising in nation-building and activities the way the President
did and as intended by him. This was a distinguished feat that provided
a firm guarantee for glorifying the DPRK as the state of Kim Il Sung
and accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche to the last.
Kim
Jong Il put forward the Songun politics as the basic political mode of
the DPRK in the most grim period of the Korean revolution and
established the state mechanism with a main emphasis on national
defence. He also increased the nation's capabilities and smashed the
imperialists' moves for aggression, thereby firmly defending the destiny
of the country and the nation.
The
dear respected Kim Jong Un named patriotism personally showed by Kim
Jong Il on the road of devotion to defending the country and the
prosperity Kim Jong Il's patriotism and aroused the army and the people
to embody it.
The
Korean people will frustrate vicious challenges and obstructions of
anti-reunification forces at home and abroad and certainly achieve the
historic cause of the country's reunification by the concerted efforts
of all compatriots under the banner of the June 15 North-South Joint
Declaration and the October 4 declaration.
It
is the principled stand and firm will of the DPRK to answer the
provocation and the war for aggression with immediate counter-attack and
the sacred and just war for the country's reunification.
If
a war breaks out again on this land against the will of the Koreans due
to the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet forces, the army
and the people of the DPRK will not miss the chance but promptly deal
deadly blows at them and lead it to a sacred war for national
reunification. By doing so, they will realize the greatest desire of the
nation and remove the stronghold of imperialism from the earth, the
reporter concluded.
