Kim Jong Un Gives Field Guidance to Sports Center in Thongil Street
Kim
Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman
of the DPRK National Defense Commission and supreme commander of the
Korean People's Army, together with his wife, gave field guidance to the
Sports Center in Thongil Street, which is now near completion.
Their suite included Choe Ryong Hae, Kim Jong Gak, Kim Kyong Ok, Pak Thae Song, Hwang Pyong So and Ma Won Chun.
Kim Jong Un was greeted on the spot by commanding officers of the KPA units participating in the construction of the center.
It
is a modern mass sports center built at the personal instance and plan
of Kim Jong Un who always pays deep attention to the promotion of health
of the people and their improved life.
Early
in May last, Kim Jong Un, on his way back from his inspection tour of a
People's Army unit, dropped in at a construction object in Thongil
Street.
Originally, the object was being built for other purpose.
That
day, he gave an instruction to make it a mass sports center in which
the working people can do physical training and curative sports and
promote their health and living.
In
hearty response to the instruction of the supreme commander soldier
builders conducted a vigorous drive and wonderfully built the center in a
short span of time.
With
a floor space of 13 749 square meters the center consists of a health
sports room, underwater supersonic waves room, health recovery room,
table-tennis ground and soft drink stand.
The
center is furnished with 138 sporting apparatuses of 61 sorts for
running, cycling, paddling and other purposes and modern medical
equipment.
Going
round various places of the center, Kim Jong Un learnt in detail about
the securing of the apparatuses and their arrangement and use.
Watching
different kinds of sporting apparatuses one by one, he stressed the
need to arrange them in a rational way like a mass sports center.
Looking
round the health sports room, he urged the need to find out scientific
methods of using apparatuses to suit people's ages and physical
characteristics so that the working people can use different apparatuses
for physical training and treatment.
At
the health recovery room he said that service workers should acquire
special knowledge including physical treatment methods to positively
contribute to the improvement of the people's health and treatment.
Seeing
round the underwater supersonic waves room that has modern supersonic
waves equipment, wet and dry sauna and shower facilities, he called for
doing service activities so well that they are effective to the sports
and treatment of the working people.
Saying
that it is the firm determination and will of our Party to make our
people, the best in the world, enjoy the socialist wealth and prosperity
to their heart's content, he called for managing the Sports Center in
Thongil Street properly and so make the happy laughter of the people
sound more loudly.
