Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Guides Meeting
Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- The Fourth Enlarged Meeting of the Eighth Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) took place at the office building of the Central Committee of the WPK on February 6 amid the soaring militant spirit and fighting enthusiasm of the Korean People's Army (KPA) to firmly guarantee the dynamic advance of the Korean-style socialist cause with matchless military muscle.
Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, guided the enlarged meeting.
Present there were vice-chairmen Ri Pyong Chol and Ri Yong Gil and members of the Central Military Commission of the WPK.
Attending it as observers were commanders of the KPA services, commanding officers of its corps and major units, commanding officers of the Ministry of National Defence and other armed forces organs, leading officials in the field of national defence scientific research and cadres of the Department of the Munitions Industry and other relevant departments of the WPK Central Committee.
The enlarged meeting discussed in depth the major military and political tasks for 2023 and the long-term issues concerning the orientation for army building.
Studied and discussed there were a series of practical tasks for bringing about a great change in the military and political work, including the issue of taking a step for the machinery to fundamentally improve and strengthen the military affairs, the issue of constantly expanding and intensifying the operation and combat drills of the KPA to cope with the prevailing situation and more strictly perfecting the preparedness for war, and the issue of newly modifying some articles of the internal regulations of the army as required by the developing reality. Then, relevant decisions were adopted.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un expressed expectation and belief that the whole armed forces of the DPRK would perform ever-victorious feats in strenuously upholding and vigorously carrying out with the matchless military strength the Party's enormous tasks for further consolidating the historic victories won by the Korean people in the grand course of accomplishing the socialist cause and for opening up a new chapter of development in the history of socialist construction of Juche, deeply mindful of the sacred mission and important duty they have assumed before the Party and the revolution, the country and the people.
The KPA officers and all the participants hardened their will to fulfill their obligations in implementing the Party's military policy, looking up to Kim Jong Un who convened the enlarged meeting on the historic day marking the 60th anniversary of the slogan "A-match-for-a-hundred" set forth by President Kim Il Sung to provide an important milestone for building the powerful army and clarified the orientation of the revolutionary military and political activities of the DPRK armed forces.
Ever-Victorious and Ever-Glorious Crack Army
February 8, 1948 is a meaningful day when President Kim Il Sung proclaimed to the whole world the foundation of Korean People’s Army (KPA) – the first regular revolutionary armed forces in our country.
The 75-year-long history of the heroic KPA that inherited the great tradition of the anti-Japanese struggle is full of pride recorded only with victory and glory under the leadership of the brilliant commanders.
President Kim Il Sung founded the Juche-oriented revolutionary armed forces – the KPA within a short period of less than three years after the liberation with his outstanding army-building ideas and energetic leadership. By doing so, he laid a strong military foundation that ensures the independent development of the country and vigorous advance of the revolution.
With his outstanding military strategies and tactics, President Kim Il Sung frustrated the armed aggression by the U.S. and the allied imperialist forces that attempted to swallow up our young Republic in its infancy and achieved a great victory, creating a legend of victory in war which marked the beginning of decline of the U.S. who boasted of being the “strongest” in the world.
Whenever a touch-and-go situation was created in our country, which was led to the brink of war due to the U.S. imperialists’ war provocations, President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il wisely led the KPA to smash the enemy’s maneuvers at every step with his outstanding military stratagem, thus firmly defending the sovereignty and dignity of the fatherland.
During the grim period when we had to fight against the allied imperialist forces of the world without any flank or backing, Chairman Kim Jong Il further strengthened and developed the KPA into invincible revolutionary forces and brought victory after victory in the struggle to defend socialism by his Songun revolutionary leadership.
Today the KPA holds in high esteem respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, the peerless brilliant commander and is fully displaying its dignity as an invincible army while increasing its immense and absolute power hundredfold.
Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un put forth the idea that the KPA should be further strengthened as strong revolutionary armed forces advancing under the uplifted banner of modeling the whole army on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism and as an army which wins by dint of ideology, is strong both politically and ideologically and stands on a moral high ground. And he has developed the KPA into an invincible revolutionary army armed with our Party’s Juche-oriented military idea and tactics.
Thanks to his outstanding leadership, the KPA has fully displayed its might as an invincible army equipped with mighty Juche weapons that make the enemy shudder with fear and as the world strongest armed forces possessed of formidable strike power and overwhelming military strength that can surely overpower all sorts of tyranny of the imperialists.
All the people in this world hope to live a dignified life in a powerful country.
But such hope cannot be fulfilled by itself. Only a great leader who leads the state and people with gifted military wisdom and stratagem, and steel-strong courage can make this hope come true.
So, numerous foreign friends are highly praising the DPRK saying that it has now proudly secured the position as a nuclear power recognized by the world under the leadership of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.
Under the outstanding and seasoned leadership of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un – the greatest-ever commander- the KPA will always achieve only victory and glory, adding luster to its proud history and tradition in the future, too.
Law on Childcare, A Unique Law of Tender Loving Care
The law on childcare was adopted in the DPRK at the 6th Session of the 14th Supreme People’s Assembly held in early February 2022. It is the most superior socialist law which provides all conditions for bringing up our children as the kings and queens of the country and as the pillars of the future.
At the 3rd Plenary Meeting of the 8th WPK Central Committee, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un set it as the greatest desire of our Party and state to provide more improved fostering conditions even at the cost of a huge sum of money, stressing that no work is more important than bringing up our children in good condition. He also took a step to ensure that the state set as its policy to provide the children across the country with dairy products and other nutritional food.
The newly adopted law on childcare stipulates that the childcare-related work is a work of national and social importance and that it is an important communist policy to bring up the children at the expense of the state and society.
There is a clause in this law which touches the hearts of all people.
The State shall establish a well-organized system of production and supply for children’s nutritional food, provide all children with dairy products and other nutritional food free of charge on a regular basis and ensure the best fostering conditions.
What the state suffers loss for the posterity is not the loss; the more fund we spend on the work for children, the brighter the future of country will be. This is the noble view on posterity and firm political creed cherished by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.
In May 2022 when the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was so busy leading the struggle to shield the laughter and future of the people across the country from the threat of malignant disease, he gave a valuable teaching that dairy products should be provided to all the families with children.
To dedicate himself to the rising generation even when we are in a worse situation; to move forward towards the future of communism with the might of that love. This is just his immutable love for rising generation.
Indeed, each and every article of the law on childcare is permeated with the unshakeable will and noble aspiration of the Workers’ Party of Korea which regards the children as the most precious beings in the world and spares nothing for them.
Even at this moment, in every part of the world, there are children in their infancy who suffer from hunger and diseases, fall victim to unseasonable natural disasters and endless conflicts, and wander with their parents seeking refuge at their most apt age for learning and playing.
But in our country, the Party and government, which hold dear millions of children, provided all mothers with the unique law on childcare – an affectionate letter of assurance about child upbringing. With this law, the happy laughter and singing voices of our children are reverberating far and wide.
When we think about the law on childcare, the great law of love for posterity, we bear in our mind what the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said. He said that if the rising generation born on this land are growing well in a good environment, the national power of our Republic will gain as much strength.
Human Rights Situation in the U.S. Seen Through Racism and Hatred Crime
The whole of the American society is now in a whirlwind of racism and hatred crime from the very beginning of the New Year.
On January 7, a group of police officers in Tennessee of the U.S. had beaten a 29-year-old young black man to death for the reason that he was in traffic violation, much to the consternation of the world.
People get overheated in their demand that the killers be severely punished. Against this backdrop, a video clip showing the police officers pommeling the black man with fists and batons for 4 minutes during the incident was released, triggering a social uproar against racism.
Demonstrations in protest at the barbarous acts of the policemen are now in the rapid spread on a nationwide scale in the U.S. including Oakland, New York, Atlanta, Boston and Los Angeles.
Biden, being nonplused at this, made poor excuses in “crocodile tears” that only practical actions are needed to prevent such a tragedy, but the public indignation is running high.
“I can’t breathe!” – dying cry of Floyd, the young black man killed by the violence of a white policeman gave the world a great shock, to say nothing of the U.S. No sooner had the shock been subdued than another black man-killing incident by the police has occurred. This clearly shows the hypocrisy of the slogan of “racial equality”.
On January 21, when the public indignation at the incident of the police murdering the young black man remains unabated all over the country, a tragic incident occurred where an armed man fired randomly at Asian people who were gathered at Asian residential district in Los Angeles to celebrate the lunar New Year’s Day, killing scores of people there.
As Biden made an official acknowledgement that Asian Americans are suffering from pain and violence caused by hatred crimes, it became an incurable endemic disease of American make.
According to statistical data, more than 12,000 hatred crimes were committed against Asian people in various parts of the U.S. from March 2020 to March 2022 and the number of crime cases increased to even 177% in 2022 alone.
No wonder even the UN Secretary-General, who used to feign ignorance about the human rights situation of the U.S., issued a statement as he was greatly shocked at the reality of hatred crime in the U.S.
Racism, hatred crime and gun-related crime had already become a symbol that represent the human rights plight of the U.S. which pretends to be a “world-famous exemplary state of human rights.”
Popular masses are writhing in poverty and despair as they are not provided with even the basic right to existence, and all sorts of social evils like extreme hatred, racial discrimination and gun-related crimes are rife in the U.S. In such a country, human rights are nothing but a mirage.
Notwithstanding the reality, the U.S. is habitually interfering in the internal affairs of others, finding fault with their human rights issues.
Recently, the spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry criticized that the U.S. talks loud about democracy, freedom and human rights, and even abuses them as tools of interference in the internal affairs of others, and said that the U.S. government should see its serious human rights situation squarely and better deal with it to prevent the repeat of tragedy. This assertion is most natural.
If the U.S. beats the drum of human rights full of falsehood and fabrication, it would only play the role of a high-output speaker which magnifies its dismal human rights situation where all sorts of social evils are rampant.

With Warm Affection for Soldiers
Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un of the armed forces of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea inspected the post on Kkachil Peak of Mt Osong where soldiers are levelling guns at the enemy one day in June Juche 102 (2013).
Though officers entreated him not to go there as it was an extremely dangerous place which was near the enemy line, he resolutely inspected the post, saying how disappointed the soldiers would be if he did not meet them when he came to Mt Osong and he could not leave the post if he did not meet them.
Wearing a broad smile on his face, he kindly held the hands of the soldiers and imbued them with ardent love and trust, saying it was not an isolated post and the Supreme Commander was always with them.
The soldiers of Mt Osong are not only ones who received such loving care and trust.
One day in August 11 years ago, Kim Jong Un expressed his intention of inspecting Mu Island which is located in a hot spot the following day.
The officials stood up at once and asked him not to go there.
Then he said to the officials not to dissuade him as he had to go there no matter how dangerous it would be and how rough the sea would be and there were soldiers he loved most, adding that who would go there if he had not gone as the Supreme Commander.
Like this, he always missed soldiers and did not hesitate to go among them after long journeys of covering a rugged path and gave them parental love by learning in detail whether they slept in warm beds or they ate hot meals in warm place and how meat, fish and vegetables were supplied to them.
The KPA soldiers are filled with burning enthusiasm to unhesitatingly dedicate even their youth and lives for the Party, the revolution, the country and the people as they cherish his paternal love in their hearts.
