Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Visits Lodging Quarters of KPA General Officers
Pyongyang, February 8 (KCNA) -- The DPRK greets the significant Day of Army Founding in the grandiose course of vigorously making a new turning point of the state's prosperity while demonstrating the might of independence in politics and self-support in the economy amid the heroic spirit of great self-reliance in national defence. The whole country is now overflowing with the incomparably high pride of our revolutionary armed forces which have paved the road of advance of history in the van as a personifier of the idea and will of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and the absolute strength of our state and people.
Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, paid a congratulatory visit to the lodging quarters of general officers of the Korean People's Army (KPA) on February 7 on the occasion of the 75th KPA birthday to be inscribed in gold letters in the history of powerful Juche Korea.
Commanding officers of the Ministry of National Defence and military and political commanding officers of the KPA large combined units and combined units greeted with the warmest reverence the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un whom they wanted to see even in their dreams when he arrived at the lodging quarters together with his respected daughter.
They were greatly excited to get convinced of the eternal security and future of the country as they are led by the ever-victorious iron-willed brilliant commander who is ushering in a new era of building the powerful army, demonstrating the dignity and mightiness of Juche Korea to the whole world.
A banquet for celebrating the 75th KPA birthday was given in the presence of Kim Jong Un.
Invited to it were commanding officers of the Ministry of National Defence, military and political commanding officers of the KPA large combined units and combined units and other general officers.
Present were senior Party and government officials, including Kim Tok Hun, Jo Yong Won and Ri Pyong Chol, members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee.
The banquet hall was seething with great pride and joy over the great history and tradition of the KPA which has performed ever-victorious feats in the protracted militant course since its birth, guaranteeing the dignity and prosperity of the country and the happiness of the people with arms of the revolution.
When Kim Jong Un entered the banquet hall amid the playing of welcome music, all the participants enthusiastically cheered, paying the highest glory and respects to him, the iron-willed brilliant commander who is the outstanding leader of our great Party, state and people and the banner of all victories and glory.
Kim Jong Un made a meaningful speech for all the service personnel of the KPA greeting the Day of Army Founding.
He proudly reviewed the proud history of the People's Army which has recorded the glorious tradition, brilliant victory and shining epic of honor since the day when the shouts of the army founding broke out, and extended noble tribute and warm congratulations to all the officers and men of the DPRK armed forces who have defended the strong breathing of the ever-victorious Korean revolution with matchless military muscle and costly sacrifice and upheld the invincibility and mightiness of our state.
He expressed belief that the KPA, the armed forces of the WPK and the vanguard of the class, would brilliantly defend the dignity and greatness of the powerful country and people with the irresistible strength peculiar to it by invariably inheriting the red soul, the noble mission, the staunch revolutionary spirit and the fighting spirit of death-defying resistance cherished by the first generation of the revolution with arms.
Upon hearing his passionate speech that gives them the boundless pride of having bravely advanced under the leadership of the WPK and further hardens their revolutionary will to remain loyal to the WPK forever, the general officers raised stormy cheers of "Hurrah!" in reflection of their pledge of faith to firmly carry forward the sacred traditions peculiar to our People's Army.
Displayed at the banquet hall were impressive scenes showing the ties of kindred between the great brilliant commander and the backbones of the invincible powerful army who share the intention, feelings and fate on the road of bolstering up the military capabilities for the dignity and future of the country and the people.
The KPA commanding officers renewed their rock-firm will to exert themselves to devotedly defend the Party Central Committee led by Kim Jong Un and the revolutionary idea and cause of our Party despite any turns and twists and reliably guarantee the all-people advance for victory of the socialist cause with matchless arms in the theaters for defence of the national sovereignty and the people and gigantic creation, cherishing his parental warm affection and great trust for life.
Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Makes Significant Speech at Banquet for Celebrating KPA Birthday
Pyongyang, February 8 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, made a passionate speech at a banquet for celebrating the 75th founding anniversary of the Korean People's Army (KPA) on February 7.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:
Comrade generals, commanding officers of the heroic Korean People's Army present in this significant place,
Today is the 75th birthday of our army.
At this moment when I recollect the proud history of the People's Army which has written an epic of glorious tradition, brilliant victory and honor in the long course of struggle spanning 27 395 days since the day when its birth was welcomed with cheers, I am haunted by the unforgettable names and images of the service personnel of the preceding generations who devoted themselves to defending the vigorous advance of the ever-victorious Korean revolution and boosting the invincibility and mightiness of our state.
I am also haunted by the images of all the servicepersons of the KPA firmly standing at frontline, border and other posts and socialist construction sites to defend the eternal prosperity of the motherland and the well-being and happiness of the people even this evening and at this moment of glory.
Upon authorization by our Party and government, I pay high tribute to the anti-Japanese revolutionary forerunners who provided the origin of the tradition of victory immortal in the history of the hard-fought struggle of the revolutionary armed forces, and to the fallen fighters of the People's Army, the respected veterans and the army commanding officers of the preceding generations who passed away.
I also extend warm congratulations to all the officers and men of the KPA and the armed forces of the DPRK through you, commanding officers and generals at all levels present here.
My best wishes and heartfelt thanks also go to all the people and officers' wives who have absolutely supported and encouraged our Party's line of building a powerful army and its defence policy, put forward their beloved husbands and children to national defence and devoted themselves to strengthening the defence capabilities of the country.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said that there is no such a heroic and patriotic army remaining faithful to its cause as the KPA in the world and everybody knows its devotion to defending the Korean revolution without any vacillation despite the harsh challenges, hoping that the officers and men of the KPA who has always gone to the trouble of overcoming hardships will celebrate their holiday justly, proudly, honorably and significantly amid the blessings by all the people even today, the Day of Army Founding.
He further said:
Comrade generals and the officers and men of the People's Army,
What kind of force drives the unprecedentedly arduous Korean revolution and what makes our state invincible and how is our ideal and future shaped.
The most veritable answer to this and the fairest appreciation by history are found in the 75-year-long history of our army.
The more we look back on how our revolutionary cause is defended, how our Party's idea and lines are safeguarded and how our national flag has fluttered at the peak of honor, the more we value the noble blood shed by our army officers and men for victory and their endless feats.
In the initial period after its founding, our army clarified its original mission of sharing the same destiny with the Party and started a long bloody journey to remain faithful to it. This has become a fundamental factor in making our history of army building be one that can never be separated from the history of struggle of the Party, the revolution, the country and the people and in enabling the 75-year-long history of our army to be recorded in the grandest way.
A history of righteous strength was made on this land, proving through a hard-won victory the truth that the dignity and honor are only given to the strong and the validity of the revolutionary cause is verified only through victory, and independence and self-sufficiency are only guaranteed by self-reliance in defence.
The KPA is the army of the Party, the army of the people, the army of the government and the army of the class which defends and realizes everything the dearest and most urgent to our destiny and future, and the army that bears hardships before anyone else and is ready to make sacrifices. These are the precious names that our People's Army has won at the cost of blood and lives and that should be maintained through centuries and generations.
What we value more than anything else and are fully proud of today is the fact that the baton of the revolutionary army of the Party, the history and tradition of loyalty, has been steadily carried forward.
Even under the harsh circumstances as now, our army is demonstrating its inexhaustible strength as the armed forces of the Workers' Party of Korea and the vanguard of the class. This is from A to Z attributable to the fact that the red soul, the noble mission, the staunch revolutionary spirit and the fighting spirit of death-defying resistance possessed by the first generation of the revolutionary armed forces with arms have remained unchanged even today when its fifth and sixth generations have appeared.
The highest honor of the 75-year-long history of our People’s Army lies in the great succession which continues staunchly and vigorously despite the passage of time and the storms of history.
I am quite sure that though the commanding officers and soldiers of the new generation, comprising up the main force of our revolutionary armed forces, have experienced neither a grim revolutionary war nor a difficult period of the revolution, they inherited the absolute loyalty peculiar to our People’s Army and the characteristics of the preceding generations that shed blood and sweat and sacrifice themselves without hesitation, if the revolution calls for it.
Our servicepersons have fought vigorously not only in frontline combat positions where they confront with the enemy directly but also in all parts of the country where legendary victories and miracles are made, and the red military colors associated with their loyalty and patriotic traditions have been fluttered there.
Whenever I watch our servicepersons fighting like phoenix with the might of will surpassing their mental and physical limitations in the theaters of defending the national rights and the people and those of epoch-making creation, I take off my hat to their feature.
As our army takes a noble view of life that there is only the honor on the road of sharing the same destiny with the Party and carrying out its orders, I have thought of our army when the situation of the country is difficult and entrusted it with greater tasks of struggle, and our army has never hesitated to respond to the Party’s call.
When I am determined to share the same destiny with our army, feeling the greatest honor of being the supreme commander who leads such a fine army, I feel the greatest delight.
Lots of changes have been made and the appearance of our army has changed beyond recognition for a long period since its early days, but the look of our faithful army, which always stands firmly in the van of the revolution, come rain or shine, and shoulders the heavy burden that no one can dare, remains unchanged.
Its succeeding as well as its pioneering were so great that our army could be able to win the fulfilling call of the times and history as the strongest army in the world.
Kim Jong Un said that our army's gallant, dignified, strong and tough look is a trait peculiar to it grounded in the special pride and strong self-respect that its life is devoted to the greatest sacred cause and its arms serve the most just cause in the world, and the display of an irresistible might unique to our army that comes from the extraordinary sense of responsibility and superhuman will that it can neither be broken nor collapse until it has fulfilled the duty entrusted by the Party Central Committee.
Noting that the appearance of our state growing tougher and stronger in the face of hardships and ordeals is a mirror of the fighting army and the names of heroic service personnel shine along with the peak dignity of our people, he said with pride that there are hundreds of countries and not a few armies boasting of their long history and traditions in the world, but it is only the KPA that shares life and death with the Party, the country and the people, adds to their prestige and greatness and defends their high honor and rosy future in the whole course of its development.
He declared that the DPRK has finally cultivated the great and absolute strength, getting over untold pain and suffering for the sake of eternal peace, genuine prosperity and development on this land and for the good of posterity.
He said that the KPA should brave trials as always, holding higher the slogans "Let the People's Army take charge of both national defence and socialist construction!" and "When the Party is determined, we can do anything!"
He went on to say:
I never doubt that you will be as brave as always, dedicating your lives to the eternal prosperity of the country and the wellbeing of the people, true to the letters written on the glorious military colors.
Affirming that I will always share life and death, weal and woe with you, I entrust you and our People's Army with the forefront of the revolution.
I wish all of you good health and hope that you will become commanding officers making selfless and devoted efforts for the good of our soldiers.
I entrust you with our service members.
Let us all redouble efforts and work harder to strengthen and develop our army and to achieve the prosperity and development of our socialist country.
I hope, with my hand on my heart, that the wellbeing of the people and the country's peace will be promoted in proportion to the efforts made by the People's Army.
I'd like to propose a toast to the health of army celebrities here and to the health of the officers and men of the entire army, to the glory of the People's Army and to the eternity of its great honor.
Long Live the Korean People's Army, the ever-victorious hero army!
Invincible Korean People's Army
Pyongyang, February 8 (KCNA) -- February 8, Juche 37 (1948) when President Kim Il Sung founded the Korean People's Army, the regular revolutionary armed forces, is a historic day of epochal significance in building the revolutionary armed forces and accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche.
The KPA has covered a proud path of victory and glory under the outstanding and tested guidance of President Kim Il Sung, Chairman Kim Jong Il and the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un ever since its founding.
The KPA, which carried forward the tradition of the anti-Japanese war, resolutely repulsed the invasion by the U.S. imperialists, who boasted of being the "strongest" in the world, in the 1950s and won a great victory in the three-year Fatherland Liberation War.
In the 1960s, the KPA mercilessly sank, captured and shot down the enemy's Escort Craft 56, the U.S. imperialists' armed spy ship Pueblo and the large-sized spy plane EC-121 which had intruded into the inviolable territorial waters and airspace of the DPRK, thus showing its might and spirit before the world.
The acute military confrontations provoked by the enemy, including the Panmunjom incident in the 1970s and the incident of a downed U.S. army spy helicopter in the 1990s, all ended in the DPRK's victory.
The KPA has grown as a powerful army capable of coping with any modern warfare, possessed of all-powerful Juche-based tactics and ever-victorious experience in the new century of Juche.
The actual war drills including the firing drills by the long-range artillery sub-units on the front and the flying corps of the air force and the military drills by the units for the operation of tactical nukes, the test-fire of a new-type submarine-launched ballistic missile, the test-fire of a ultra-fast hypersonic missile and the test-fire of a new-type ICBM Hwasongpho-17 struck terror into the hostile forces resorting to reckless moves to provoke a war of aggression.
Peace and security on the Korean peninsula are firmly defended by the heroic Korean People's Army demonstrating its invincible strength.
Noble Tradition of Absolute Loyalty of KPA
Pyongyang, February 8 (KCNA) -- The whole course covered by the Korean People's Army since its founding is shining as a proud history of remaining infinitely loyal to the cause of the Party.
This is well evidenced by the revolutionary slogans which were chanted by the KPA in the grim annals of the revolution.
During the fierce Fatherland Liberation War in the 1950s, the brave fighters of the KPA blocked the enemy's pillboxes with their chests, shouting "For the Party and the Leader!" and created a great myth of war victory by opening up the road of advance by sacrificing themselves.
When the grave situation prevailed due to the vicious moves of enemies within and without in the 1950s and 1960s, the vanguard fighters who held aloft the slogan "Let Us Defend with Our Very Lives the Party Central Committee Headed by the Respected Comrade Kim Il Sung!" were the very service personnel of the KPA.
The indomitable faith of the powerful revolutionary army regarding it as the lifeblood to defend the leader was reflected in the slogan of loyalty in the 1970s "Let us struggle for the great leader with our very lives!" and the slogan "Let us become Kim Hyok and Cha Kwang Su in the 1980s!"
A slogan of faith which reverberated over the entire army along with the Movement for Winning the Title of O Jung Hup-led 7th Regiment in the 1990s showed the high loyalty and unshakable will of the service personnel of the KPA to fulfill their mission as standard-bearers in the struggle for defending the country, true to the Songun revolutionary leadership of Chairman Kim Jong Il like the O Jung Hup-led 7th Regiment who devotedly defended the President during the anti-Japanese war.
Whenever colossal tasks faced the country, the officers and men of the KPA have recorded a history of change on this land through their heroic and self-sacrificing struggle, holding the slogan "Let the People's Army take charge of both national defence and socialist construction!"
Today the service personnel of the KPA are devotedly defending the bloodline of the Korean revolution, the idea and cause of the Workers' Party of Korea and reliably guaranteeing the existence and development of our state and the happiness of the people, upholding the slogan of faith "Let Us Defend with Our Very Lives the Party Central Committee Headed by the Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un!"
Meeting of Officials and Members SWUK Held
Pyongyang, February 8 (KCNA) -- Officials and members of the Socialist Women's Union of Korea (SWUK) had a meeting at the People's Palace of Culture on Tuesday to mark the 75th founding anniversary of the Korean People's Army (KPA). At the meeting, speakers highly praised the immortal revolutionary exploits of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il who accomplished the great cause of building the army by dint of self-reliance and provided a powerful treasured sword for the eternal prosperity of Korean-style socialism with their Juche-oriented idea of building the army and distinguished leadership.
They said that the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un is the peerlessly illustrious commander who has trained the KPA as the invincible revolutionary armed forces with the most powerful military muscle and added luster to the prestige and honor of the DPRK.
They called for conducting a do-good-thing movement to contribute to strengthening the defence capability of the country, true to the noble intention and leadership of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un who has made a long journey of patriotic devotion for the prosperity of the country and the happiness of the posterity.
Attending the meeting were Kim Jong Sun, chairwoman of the SWUK Central Committee, women's union officials and its members in Pyongyang.
Performance of Workers' Art Group of C.C., GFTUK
Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- The workers' art group of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea (GFTUK) gave a performance "Tradition of great victory will be inherited through generations" at the Central Hall of Workers on Monday to celebrate the 75th birthday of the Korean People's Army (KPA).
Among the audience were Pak In Chol, chairman of the GFTUK Central Committee, officials of the GFTUK, workers and trade union members in Pyongyang City.
War veterans in the city were invited.
The performance began with narration "Glory to the Heroic Korean People's Army". Its numbers included chorus "Long Live Generalissimo Kim Il Sung" and male solo "Song of Artillerymen".
The performers sang in praise of the revolutionary exploits of the peerlessly great men to shine long along with the sacred history of the heroic KPA which has only paved a road of victory and glory for 75 years since its birth as the Juche-type revolutionary regular armed forces by inheriting the tradition of the anti-Japanese war.
Female trio "Envy Us" and narrative poem "Might of Korea" showed that the DPRK could emerge as a great power with the irresistible strength which no aggression forces dare to invade, thanks to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, symbol of the mightiness of our dignified state and banner of all victories, impressing the audience.
The choral recitation of a poem "Tradition of Great Victory" well represented the surging patriotic enthusiasm of the workers and trade union members to make positive contributions to bolstering up the country's defence capabilities with the pride and honor of having the revolutionary armed forces boundlessly loyal to the cause of the Party.
