Spokesman for DPRK Foreign Ministry Censures Japanese Media for False Report
Pyongyang, December 23 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK gave the following answer to a question raised by KCNA on Thursday as regards the fact that Japan's media spread a false report that the DPRK transported munitions to Russia by rail:
The Japanese media's false report that the DPRK offered munitions to Russia is the most absurd red herring, which is not worth any comment or interpretation.
The DPRK remains unchanged in its principled stand on the issue of "arms transaction" between the DPRK and Russia which has never happened.
The international community will have to focus on the U.S. criminal acts of bringing bloodshed and destruction to Ukraine by providing it with various kinds of lethal weapons and equipment on a large scale, rather than lending an ear to the groundless theory of "arms transaction" between the DPRK and Russia cooked up by some dishonest forces for different purposes.
Taking this opportunity, I would like to say that the Russian people are the bravest people with the will and ability to defend the security and territorial integrity of their country without any others' military support.
Statement of Spokesperson for DPRK Foreign Ministry
Pyongyang, December 23 (KCNA) -- A spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) issued the following press statement on Friday:
The U.S. is now trying to cook up a "presidential statement" of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) condemning the DPRK's exercise of the right to self-defence.
The DPRK has already and clearly warned that such foolish attempt of the U.S. may entail a very undesirable consequence.
It will be defiance of the DPRK's sovereignty and a grave interference in its affairs to adopt any document taking issue with the DPRK's legitimate right to self-defence by abusing the name of the UN, whether it is "presidential statement" or anything else.
To usurp the right to self-defence, the core of national sovereignty, is the gravest challenge to a sovereign state, as it means that it would not recognize the sovereignty of the DPRK, and a very dangerous act that the DPRK has to counter with action.
The DPRK is closely watching the reckless moves of the U.S. which is making uninterrupted irresponsible provocations.
Achievements Made in Strengthening National Defence Capability This Year
Pyongyang, December 22 (KCNA) -- Juche 111 (2022) is a significant year as it witnessed national historic events in the history of the Workers' Party of Korea and the DPRK. In particular, proud successes have been made in further bolstering up the defence capabilities, the dignity and sovereignty of the country and guarantee for protecting its interests.
A military parade for celebrating the 90th anniversary of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army (KPRA) was held with splendor in April to show the DPRK's invincible military strength, its revolutionary armed forces' superiority in military technology. The military parade demonstrated once again the true picture and courageous stamina of the Korean People's Army, which has grown to be an invincible revolutionary army of the Party, the driving force for national defence and the genuine people's army along with the history of 90 years, and the overwhelming strength of the DPRK which took a strong strategic position and the tremendous might of its revolutionary armed forces.
The Seventh Session of the 14th Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK in September legalized its state policy of the nuclear force, the pivot of the national defence capability, to further consolidate the irreversible position of the DPRK as a nuclear weapons state.
Practical military measures were taken one after another in September and October to mercilessly foil the escalating military threats of the U.S. and other hostile forces. They fully displayed the reality, combat effectiveness and actual war capacity of the DPRK's nuclear combat forces.
Such military operations as ballistic missile launching drill under the simulation of loading tactical nuclear warhead at a silo under a reservoir, striking drills by super-large multiple rocket launchers and tactical ballistic missiles, a new-type ground-to-ground medium-to-long range ballistic missile launch hitting the preset water area in the Pacific across the Japanese archipelago and the largest-ever combined air attack drill in the history of the KPA Air Force showed the world clearly that the enemies' continued provocative military moves would face more thorough and merciless counteraction from the DPRK.
In November, the test-fire of new-type ICBM Hwasongpho-17 was conducted under the serious condition that the reckless military confrontational moves of the U.S. and other hostile forces persistently driving the military and political situation in the Korean peninsula to the red line had gone beyond the limit. It was a solemn declaration of our Party and government's invariable will to return nuke for nuke and all-out confrontation for all-out confrontation.
December, too, witnessed a test aimed to settle a crucial issue in the development of another new-type strategic weapon system and an important final-stage test for developing reconnaissance satellite. Those tests contributed to protecting the independent right and interests of the DPRK and further raising its prestige.
All those achievements are a brilliant fruition of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un's rare wisdom, strong courage and outstanding leadership ability.
He often visited the training ground for the military parade celebrating the 90th birthday of the KPRA to give detailed guidance to it so as to make it the most perfect military parade ever in history.
Thanks to the energetic guidance of him who achieved the great cause of completing the state nuclear force through his death-defying struggle for the defence industry revolution, shouldering the destiny of the country and people, a fundamental guarantee was provided for proudly enacting the policy of the nuclear force.
He had steadily braved danger to make our defence industry fully discharge its mission as the arsenal of Juche Korea and indicate the orientation and ways for developing new-type ultra-modern weapons. His energetic guidance resulted in such miracles that the overwhelming weapons of the DPRK soared into space.
He personally came out, together with his beloved daughter and wife, to the historic site for test-firing a major strategic weapon, a crucial milestone in bolstering up the nuclear force of the DPRK and guided the whole course of the test-fire. His noble patriotic devotion greatly touched the hearts of all the service personnel and people.
Through the eventful successes made in the development of the national defence capabilities this year, the people in the DPRK came to cherish deeper in their mind the unshakable faith that only victory and glory are in store for them when they advance under the leadership of the General Secretary.
Loving Care for Rising Generation Recorded in Journey of 2022
Pyongyang, December 21 (KCNA) -- This year, too, a noble picture of love for the rising generation unprecedented in the world has been shown in the DPRK.
The DPRK faced the harshest ordeals ever in history due to the hostile forces' extreme moves to stifle it, the sudden emergency caused by the inroad of malignant virus and the damage by severe drought and downpour. But the benefits of the Workers' Party of Korea for the children have been invariably enforced.
Fresh dairy products have been supplied to the children on a regular basis, and new school uniforms, shoes, bags and school things were provided to all the freshmen across the country and the children were provided with padded clothes, winter sports clothes and winter shoes before the new school year. The loving care and benevolence of the motherly Party was endless.
The bright and cheerful laughter of the children resounded on this land. This is the result of the tireless efforts of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who regarded it as his duty and lifelong mission to provide the rising generation with boundless happiness.
Thanks to his initiative and meticulous guidance, the Sixth Session of the 14th Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK in February adopted the Law of the DPRK on Childcare which stipulates that all children should be provided with the best conditions for upbringing.
He paid deep attention to the issue of baby milk powder and rice powder, taking into consideration the inward trouble of the mothers who are bringing up babies, even during the maximum emergency anti-epidemic campaign.
At the Fourth Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the WPK, he proposed the task of supplying all the schoolchildren with new types of quality school uniforms and bags and took an important measure to carry it out.
On the first day of the year, he examined the patterns of school uniforms to be made for our pupils and students and saw to it that a national technical training course was organized for the production of school uniforms.
Under the warm care of the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un who is steadily making a brilliant history of love for posterity on this land, the dreams and happiness of our children will be reliably defended and the bright and rosy future of the country will be guaranteed forever.
Best-ever Military Parade Demonstrates Might of the Republic
The military parade held in celebration of the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army at Kim Il Sung Square in Pyongyang on April 25 this year was a landmark event to be specially etched in the nation’s history.
Among the dozens of military parades which have been staged in Korea since the first military parade of the Korean People’s Army demonstrated the majestic appearance of a new Korea over 70 years ago, the last one was held most distinctively and on the largest scale as a night-time event, ranging from the march-in ceremony of parading columns to the national flag hoisting ceremony and finale.
The parade ground provided with unprecedentedly gorgeous illuminations looked like the stage of a grand art performance and mysterious formative artistic effects entranced the audience and even TV viewers.
The distinctive feature of the military parade as a nocturnal event stood out owing to the beautiful and stirring illuminations effects of various lighting devices—a sudden blackout in the once brightly-lit square giving the audience thrills, a spotlight turned on to focus their attention in an instant, rhythmic and wavy lights quickening their pulse and lights in various colours flashing dazzlingly.
Viewers were excited from the beginning as they saw paratroopers jumping from aircraft and flaunting their group descending skills, the rite of the large combined military band, the march-in of vigorous and majestic units of paraders into the square and the distinctively grand parade orchestral music. Formations of fighters installed with LED lamps also showed off high skills while buzzing and emitting sparks.
The military parade comprehensively showed afresh the ideology and spirit of the DPRK and the proud history and invincible might of the Korean revolutionary armed forces.
It is unprecedented that the commanders and political commissars of the services and corps-level units participated in the receiving ceremony with the colours of their units and that the columns of the navy, air force, strategic force, special operations force and frontline corps were preceded by the colours of all divisions and brigades along with those of their services and corps.
The stately procession of colours in the van of parading columns was symbolic of the proud victories and military exploits of the revolutionary armed forces.
The modernity of the armed forces of the Republic and the absolute might of the state were clearly demonstrated by parading columns and sophisticated military hardware, including the columns of the three services and the strategic force marching past the square in a fine array, those of the leading tanks symbolic of the fighting capability of the KPA, the artillery which prides itself on being the first arm of the KPA, and the super-large multiple rocket launch system, the new-type ICBM Hwasongpho-17 which represents the strategic force of the Republic and new-type submarine-launched ballistic missiles.
The military parade which was staged in splendour under the meticulous guidance and concern of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was the best-ever military parade in which power and arts were combined and every element was novel, distinctive and perfect.
On April 26, General Secretary Kim Jong Un told leading officials of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea and commanding officers of the KPA that the military parade which added glory to the state and brought joy to the people was the summing-up piece of the military parades held since the founding of the army.
