11th Meeting of Political Bureau of 8th Central Committee of WPK Held
Pyongyang, December 1 (KCNA) -- The 11th Meeting of the Political Bureau of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) took place at the office building of the WPK Central Committee on Nov. 30.
Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, was present at the meeting.
Attending the meeting were members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee and members and alternate members of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee.
The meeting discussed the issue of convening the 6th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the WPK.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un presided over the meeting.
Jo Yong Won, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau and secretary for Organizational Affairs of the WPK Central Committee, made a report.
The report reviewed and analyzed the implementation of the major policies of the Party and the state for this year and proposed major agenda items to be discussed at the 6th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the WPK.
The respected General Secretary said that the internal and external circumstances of the year 2022 created on the advance of the Korean revolution were the unprecedented adversity that tested our will and fighting efficiency, but thanks to the correct leadership of the Party Central Committee, a new phase was opened for the remarkable development of the state and the country's prestige and honor was raised to a new level.
He said that it is very important for all sectors to find innovative ways for solving the problems by tapping our potentiality and to properly confirm the next year's plan on the basis of the correct analysis of the experience and lessons accumulated in the course of a year's struggle in order to expand the affirmative changes made in the Party building and the overall work of the state this year and vigorously push forward the huge tasks of the new year.
Noting that the year 2023 is a historic year marking the 75th birthday of the DPRK and the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War and an important year when a decisive guarantee for the fulfillment of the five-year plan should be laid, he indicated the principled issues arising in mapping out a dynamic, advanced, scientific and detailed operation for implementing the major policies of the Party and state in the coming year to be glorified with greater victory and success than this year.
There was an assignment related with the preparation for the plenary meeting.
The Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee adopted a resolution on convening the 6th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the WPK in late December with unanimous approval.
Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Meets and Congratulates
Air Force Commanders and Men
Pyongyang, December 1 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, invited to the office building of the Party Central Committee 705 pilots of over 20 regiments of five divisions, who participated in the general operation of the air force flying corps with 500 fighters involved for 3 hours and 47 minutes on November 4, on the occasion of the Day of Air Men and warmly congratulated and encouraged them.
The respected General Secretary invited to Pyongyang the commanding officers and pilots of the Air Force who contributed to strikingly demonstrating Juche Korea's transparent spirit against the enemy and its invincible stamina by successfully conducting large-scale flying operations on the order of the Party Central Committee with the resolute will to counter the enemies' large-scale combined air drills and the overwhelming fighting spirit, and lavished great privilege and favor on them.
The officers and pilots were greatly excited to enter the yard of the Party Central Committee with the proud military merits of displaying the indefatigable fighting spirit instilled by the great Party Central Committee and dealing deadly blows at the enemies who made reckless military provocation.
When the General Secretary came out, all the participants paid the greatest respects to the peerless illustrious commander who resolutely overpowers the imperialists' tyranny with his gifted military wisdom, outstanding commanding art and iron faith and pluck and opens up the new history of a powerful country in which the absolute prestige of our sacred country and the dignity of its people is defended on the highest level by dint of powerful strength.
Waving back to the enthusiastic cheers, Kim Jong Un sent warm militant salute to the dependable pilots who demonstrated before the world the ideological and mental advantages of our Air Force, its stricter and merciless principle of taking actions against enemies and its advantageous combating ability for defeating any formidable enemy at a go, by perfectly and promptly carrying out the Party's combat order in unprecedented large-scale air operation.
Invincible air myth is created by pilots armed with indomitable spirit, not any up-to-date fighters, he said, stating that it is the great pride of our Party, country and people to have brave pilots possessed of transparent view on the principal enemies and Juche-based view on war to go through thick and thin and set fire all the fortress of aggression on the order of the Party.
He said that the praiseworthy military merits performed by the People’s Air Force that resolutely safeguarded the territorial air of the country will shine long as an eventful victory in the history of the country. He then had a photo taken with them, expressing the conviction that the officers and men of the Air Force would glorify the golden age of the Juche-based air force with ardent loyalty, matchless bravery and heroic fighting spirit and reliably guarantee the bolstering of the national defence capabilities, defence of the existence of the country and enhancement of the state prestige in the future, too.
The commanding officers and pilots of the Air Force, who once again enjoyed the warm love and trust of Kim Jong Un, made a solemn pledge to perform greater feats on the road of loyalty of defending the territorial air of the country and steadily carry forward the People’s Air Force’s history of absolute loyalty to the Party and the revolution and the sacred tradition of defending the lineage of Paektu.
A Palace Unparalleled in the World
In the DPRK, there is a splendid palace for kings and queens – the Mangyongdae School Children’s Palace.
It is a palace of love which, like a mother welcoming her children with open arms, embraces all school children across the country and allows them to realize their wishes and display their talent to their heart’s content.
On May 30, 2014, respected Comrade Kim Jong Un made a tour inspection to the School Children’s Palace and set forward the task of refurbishing the building into a children’s palace unparalleled in the world. He also took measures for organizing an efficient designing and construction team and for the supply of building materials. And he energetically guided the construction to make sure that the palace be built into the best of its kind, giving over 180 invaluable teachings and reviewing 250 blueprints.
On November 30, 2015, despite the cold weather of late autumn, respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the Mangyongdae School Children’s Palace which was wonderfully refurbished in conformity with the requirements of the new century in less than a year. On this day, he expressed his satisfaction, saying that the palace is a monumental edifice that strongly displays to the world the validity of our Party’s policy of educating the young generation and the strength and superiority of our socialist system.
He warmly said that there is nothing to spare for the sake of our children and we should defend their bright smiles. He continued that the laughter of our children, which we firmly defended in times of trials and hardship like today, will loudly resound as hurrahs of the victory of socialism in the distant future.
Every country in the world has a leader and there are children in any nation. But there was no country or leader that built such a wonderful palace for children.
Such a splendid palace for our children can only be provided by respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who values our children as precious treasure of priceless worth and gives them prominence as the entirety of hope and future.
The Mangyongdae School Children’s Palace really is a house of happiness overflowing with warm love and affection of the Party, and it is the one and only children’s palace in the world that can only exist in our socialist fatherland.
That is why even today, thousands of school children come to the Mangyongdae School Children’s Palace every day. There, they’re giving full play to their talent according to their wishes and aptitudes and are growing up to be reliable reserves of socialist construction possessed of ample knowledge, sound moral character and good health.
Foreigners who looked round the Mangyongdae School Children’s Palace expressed their feelings and said in praise:
The Palace is so grand and majestic that it is breathtaking. I am sure that the future of the DPRK is bright and rosy because children are under such great care;
There are the 7 Wonders of the World. If you add them all up, you’ll get the Mangyongdae School Children’s Palace;
It really is a rare building. I feel like stepping into a palace to meet the king.
Our fatherland is so powerful and great because respected Comrade Kim Jong Un has created a world of the most noble and ardent love for posterity.
For Friendship and Solidarity among the Youth and Students of the World
The 13th World Festival of Youth and Students was held in Pyongyang, the capital of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, in July Juche 78 (1989) with the attendance of delegates from over 180 countries, representatives of over 60 international and regional organizations and honorary guests from 90 countries. The festival clearly demonstrated the dignity and might of the Korean youth movement which was playing the leading and pivotal role in defending the anti-imperialist character of the world youth movement and achieving their unity.
The festival took place in the country thanks to the deep concern and meticulous guidance of President Kim Il Sung who devoted himself for the friendship and unity of the youth and students of the world.
He took necessary measures for holding the festival in the country, and ensured that grand construction projects for the festival were successfully completed and that all events, including the opening and closing ceremonies, were prepared in a peculiar style.
At the Fourth Meeting of the International Preparatory Committee of the festival held in Pyongyang in March Juche 78 (1989), he delivered a speech titled, For Friendship and Solidarity among the Youth and Students of the World.
Saying that the WFYS is an important and grand international stage on which the progressive youths and students of the world, who represent the future of mankind, meet, share one another’s youthful ideals and ambitions and strengthen friendship and solidarity, he added our youths, students and all other Korean people strongly support the ideal of the festival for solidarity against imperialism and for peace and friendship.
Friendship and solidarity are the common ideal of the world’s progressive young people, who love freedom and peace, and these are their source of strength, he noted, stressing that the youths and students in various countries of the world must firmly unite, irrespective of ideas, social system, political and religious views, nationality and race, and must support and cooperate closely with each other in the interests of the common cause.
In his speech at the opening ceremony of the festival on July 1, he underlined that in order to fulfil the noble mission entrusted to them by the times and mankind, the young people and students must strengthen the ties of international friendship and solidarity and that no force can ever break the powerful ranks of the young people of the age of independence who are advancing shoulder to shoulder in close unity.
During the festival, Kim Il Sung met heads of state, party leaders and honorary guests from different countries across the world on their visit to Pyongyang and attended the closing ceremony of the festival on July 8, 1989 to glorify the 13th World Festival of Youth and Students as a grand festival unprecedented in the history of the festival.
People-Centered Revolutionary Idea as Makers of History
Comrade Kim Jong Il wrote:
“A progressive idea plays an important role in socio-historical progress.
When the popular masses are guided by a progressive idea, they can be a powerful creator of history…
The revolutionary ideas of the working class are originated by distinguished leaders.
It can be said that the history of the communist movement spanning a hundred and scores of years is a history of working-class leaders creating and developing revolutionary ideas, a history in which these ideas have been applied to transform the world.”
The Juche idea is the one based on the practice of the Korean revolution, the experiences of the international labour movement and the demands of the times. It clarifies the man-centered philosophical principle, people-centered socio-historical principles, revolutionary theories and the guiding principles of the party and state activities.
The Juche idea stands for the view that man’s essential qualities are the pursuit of independence, creativity and consciousness, that man can change the world and shape his own destiny and that the masses of the people are the driving force of the revolution, its independent subject. The leader’s task is to serve the people, mobilize them and lead them to victory. The solid unity between the people and the leader is a prerequisite for victory.
Comrade Kim Jong Il systematized the Juche idea in a coherent way in his dissertation On the Juche Idea and developed it in several works. He summed up the guiding principles of the Juche idea as an independent stand (Juche in ideology, independence in politics, self-sufficiency in the economy and self-reliance in defence), creative method (method of depending on the masses of the people, methods suitable to the actual situation) and the main stress on ideology (giving priority to ideological remoulding, political work).
The Juche idea is the guiding ideology of the Workers’ Party of Korea, which has been steadily deepened and developed to meet the demands of the times and the developing revolution.
General Secretary Kim Jong Un has emphasized that the core of the Juche idea is the ideas of The people are God and the people-first principle.
The Workers’ Party of Korea has consistently implemented the principles of Juche in party building and party activities.
Modelling the whole society on the Juche idea is the Party’s highest program.
The spirit of unconditionally serving the people, which is deeply rooted in the Party, is a unique feature of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the whole of Korean society.
