Press Statement of Chief of External Policy Office of DPRK Foreign Ministry Pyongyang, June 2 (KCNA) -- The chief of the External Policy Office of the Foreign Ministry of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on June 1 issued the following press statement titled "Our efforts to defend the dignity and interests of the state will not be bound by anyone's prejudiced viewpoint and malicious criticism": Recently, the multilateral sanctions monitoring team (MSMT), the U.S.-led sanctions and plot-breeding body, committed a political provocation of fabricating and making public a "report" taking issue with the cooperative relations between the DPRK and Russia. The hostile act of the MSMT, a bogus group which has no legality in terms of existence and purpose, is a wanton violation of the international legal principles with sovereignty equality and non-interference in others' internal affairs as the core and a mockery of the fair international community. We express serious concern over the provocative acts of the West to encroach upon the sovereign rights of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea with its unilateral and high-handed political and legal standards as a yardstick and give stern warning against the negative consequences to be entailed by its reckless acts. No one has given the U.S. and its followers the mission and power to judge and denounce the legitimate relations between sovereign states at their own discretion, and herein lies the main reason why the existence and activities of the MSMT should be questioned and rejected. The MSMT, which was formed arbitrarily by eleven countries hostile to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the Russian Federation, is thoroughly a political tool operating according to the geopolitical interests of the West and, therefore, it has no justification to investigate the exercise of sovereign rights of other countries. The DPRK-Russia military cooperation aimed at protecting the sovereignty, territorial integrity and security interests of the states and ensuring peace and stability in the Eurasian region is a legitimate exercise of the sovereign right granted by Article 51 of the UN Charter which stipulates that each state has the right to self-defence individually or collectively. It is also a legitimate exercise of the sovereign right fully conforming with Article 4 of the treaty on comprehensive strategic partnership between the DPRK and Russia which requires each of the parties to provide military and other assistance in case of an armed attack against the other. There is a thing to make clear in this opportunity. The reason why the military cooperation between the countries involved in the MSMT has not become the target of international investigation isn't because it is just, defensive and, moreover, peaceful. The legality and justness of the DPRK-Russia relations based on the new development-oriented point lies in the fact that they are the cream of inter-state relations that put an end to the era, in which a handful of countries formed an illegal and confrontation-oriented political and military group and resort to arbitrary practices at will, and establish a multi-polar world order based on genuine respect for sovereignty, equality and justice. The DPRK has the right to take strong countermeasures to defend its interests from the outrageous encroachment on its sovereignty and interference in its internal affairs by the member states of the MSMT The hostile forces' illegal plot-breeding moves will have no effect on the relations of cooperation between independent sovereign states and our efforts to defend the dignity and interests of the state will not be bound by anyone's prejudiced viewpoint and malicious criticism.
Happy Children of DPRK Pyongyang, June 1 (KCNA) -- Today (June 1) is the International Children's Day. This day, our children, who lead a happy life under the care of the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un, showed their bright and cheerful appearances through the art performances and amusement games. There are our children before or over the people our Party respect as Heaven and it is not hardship but happiness and glory to make painstaking efforts for the younger generation who should grow up to be bolder and more lively persons. This is Kim Jong Un's noble view of the rising generation. During his revolutionary leadership, he continued to leave his traces with his love for and devotion to the future of the country. On June 1, 2014, he visited Pyongyang Orphanage, where he hugged little children and kindly asked them what they were doing to amuse themselves and if they ate something delicious. After watching with pleasure the cute little orphans saying what they had done and eaten, he enjoyed their singing of a song and applauded them. He was most pleased when he heard that the children were living a merry life. While inspecting a children's foodstuff factory, he called on the officials and employees of the factory to produce tasty and nutritious foodstuffs in larger quantities, bear in mind that normalization of production is the way to protect the children's laughter. At the Third Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (June 2021), he made sure that the Party set it as its policy to supply dairy and other nutritious foods to the children across the country at the state expense, and specified the detailed tasks and ways for their implementation. As a result, a well-regulated system of supplying dairy products to all children across the country every day has been established and the children are healthily growing up.
