Treaty on DPRK-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Ratified Pyongyang, November 12 (KCNA) -- The "Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the Russian Federation", which was concluded in Pyongyang on June 19, 2024, was ratified as a decree of the President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The DPRK head of state signed the decree on November 11, 2024. The treaty will take effect from the day when both sides exchanged the ratification instruments.
Successful DPRK Women Players Return Home Pyongyang, November 10 (KCNA) -- The DPRK's promising women footballers won the title of the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in the wake of the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup by making strenuous efforts with a burning desire to live up to the expectations of the country and the people. As a result, women footballers have won four trophies this year to fully display the reserved strength and prospects of development as Asian and world champions. A DPRK woman boxer bagged a gold medal in the women's 60kg category event of the IBA Youth World Boxing Championships 2024. Other remarkable successes in various international games this year added a wonderful and remarkable page to the history of the development of Juche-oriented physical culture and sports. The successful DPRK players returned home on Nov. 9. At Pyongyang International Airport, there were many people who turned out to welcome the players who won victories in international games through their strong spiritual strength and strenuous offensive peculiar to Juche Korea and glorified the powerful DPRK with gold medals. Present at the stopping place were Kim Il Guk, minister of Physical Culture and Sports of the DPRK, members of the National Sports Guidance Committee, officials concerned, officials in the sports field and families of the players. When the plane arrived, sportspersons and working people put garlands around the necks of the players and coaches and presented bouquets to them amid the playing of song "Our National Flag". The parents hugged their children, sports stars of the country who brought their dreams, hopes and talents into full bloom under the loving care of the Party. The sportspersons, who demonstrated the ever-victorious spirit and reputation of the dignified DPRK, left Pyongyang International Airport on a splendidly-decorated open vehicle. Along streets, Pyongyang citizens, students and children warmly congratulated the players who created another sensation in the world sport circles. The sportspersons, who received warm affection and congratulations from the whole country, extended their warm greetings to the citizens with excitement and the desire to glorify the country with more gold medals.
Rodong Sinmun on WPK's Policy of Making All People Well Versed in Science and Technology Pyongyang, November 13 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Wednesday in an article calls upon all officials, Party members and other working people to keep abreast of latest science and technology, true to the Workers' Party of Korea's policy of making all the people well versed in science and technology. It has been more than ten years since the WPK set forth the unique idea of making all the people well versed in science and technology and adopted it as the idea and major strategy of state development, the article says, and goes on: The slogan of making all the people well versed in science and technology reflects the far-reaching idea of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un on training not only scientists and technicians but also all other people to be sci-tech talents. It is displaying great vitality day by day for its lofty purpose and ideal, scientific accuracy and validity. It is the WPK's intention and will to train all the people to be intellectuals, who are equipped with the revolutionary ideology, staunch fighting spirit, noble and civilized moral traits, modern science and technology and their application ability to make tangible contributions to the development of state and society with their knowledge and technology. The present great era witnesses the drive for carrying out the great cause of regional changes, which had been deemed a mere ideal for nearly 80 years, within a decade of revolution. So the significance of making all the people well versed in science and technology is becoming greater day by day. When all officials, Party members and other working people become patriotic talents firmly equipped with modern science and technology, true to our Party's policy of making all the people well versed in science and technology, and make contributions to the ten-year revolution for realizing the Party's long-cherished desire with their knowledge and technology, the day of regional rejuvenation and the prosperity of our state will be brought earlier along with the epochal and comprehensive regional development.
