Press Statement of Director General for Int'l Organizations of DPRK Foreign Ministry

Pyongyang, March 22 (KCNA) -- Jo Chol Su, director general of the Department of International Organizations of the Foreign Ministry of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, issued the following press statement on Wednesday:

At an open session of the UN Security Council on March 20, the U.S. representative to the UN again groundlessly pulled up the DPRK over its exercise of the right to self-defence and spouted a litany of rhetoric about the outdated CVID and the "human rights situation".

The U.S. confabs against the DPRK at the UN arena only reveal before the world the failure of the American-style diplomacy which has got spoiled for its anachronistic and unrealistic nature.

Thomas Greenfield may think she is "struggling" for the U.S. interests, but should know that she is only making shameful acts of badly defaming the image of the U.S. administration.

The pressure on the DPRK to dismantle its nukes precisely means a declaration of war.

Any force should keep in mind that if it tries to apply CVID to the DPRK, it will be dealt with resolutely in accordance with the DPRK's law on nuclear force policy.

The international community still recalls with anger and pain the inhuman crimes committed by the U.S., which invaded Iraq 20 years ago to massacre hundreds of thousands of civilians and plunged the Middle East into the vortex of war.

How many more countries will have to suffer from invasion and how many more people will have to shed their blood to stop the U.S. imperialists' high-handed and arbitrary practices.

A few days ago, I warned that Thomas Greenfield would surely deplore her position as a stooge and servant of the U.S., over the fact that she dared to find fault with the "human rights situation" in the DPRK.

If she continues to speak and act maliciously, not being prudent as now, she will be the first to be judged by justice as a stooge of the "empire of evils".

Paternal Love

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un cherishes and loves the children most in the world and gives them all the fatherly affection. His warm love for the children is also permeated in the modernly-built Okryu Children’s Hospital.

The modern and advanced Okryu Children’s Hospital, a palace of love and home of welfare, was constructed by the personal initiative of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un in October, 2013. He personally selected the site of the construction and assumed the role of the designer, supervisor and builder.

The hospital provides all the necessary facilities for the children including “education room for kindergarteners”, “primary school classroom” and “middle school classroom” so that they can receive medical care free from cares and worries and study to their satisfaction.

On March 21, 2014, 9 years ago, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the hospital in person to check on its operation and treatment of the children though he was busy with the many affairs of the state.

He asked the hospital staff which medicine is lacking most in treatment and prevention of illnesses, and what the common illness of the children is. He also asked whether there is any broken equipment after the inauguration of the hospital and inquired in detail with fatherly love on other matters arising in the daily operation of the hospital.

After receiving a detailed report on medical treatment and operation of hospital from the staff of the hospital, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un sincerely said that even though the food situation of our country is tight, the child in-patients should be provided with enough food and meat. Then he took benevolent measures of providing the hospital with means of transportation and equipment needed for hospital’s operation.

He warmly said that that the medical workers of the hospital must bear in mind the noble will of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, who loved the children throughout their life, and perform the medical service with high sense of responsibility as well as warm devotion, so that the Okryu Children’s Hospital become a hospital that promotes the health of our children and proves in practice that our Party’s healthcare policy is the one that truly serves our people, rather than a mere propaganda hospital.

Indeed, the Okryu Children’s Hospital is the very representation of the noble love for future generations cherished by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, who regards the care for children as happiness, rather than trouble, no matter how hard it may be.

That is why foreign friends who witnessed our children’s happiness expressed their excited feeling as follows: Today I can truly understand why the Korean children are called “kings” and “queens” of the country; if I have a chance to be born again, I wish to be born as a Korean child; Korean children are the happiest children in the world.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un regards our children as the most the most precious treasures of priceless worth and the entirety of hope and future, and renders his unstinting paternal love for posterity. Thanks to his noble view on posterity and future, the future looks promising for our children who enjoy every bliss in the socialist paradise.

Young Lives Fade Away

Teenage is the start of life as well as the period of dreams and hope.

But in capitalist countries the human rights situation of young people is getting worse, thus arousing great concern from the international society.

Kyodo recently reported that the number of suicide cases among students at schools of different levels reached 512 last year, an all-time record, and especially the number of high school students among them recorded a notable increase of 352 cases.

Young people, who are supposed to give free rein to their dreams for learning, commit suicide to escape from the sufferings of their lives - such a reality is an excruciating pain for everyone.

Meanwhile, a British non-governmental organization released a report and expressed deep concern saying that one out of four children in the EU member states are exposed to the risk of poverty.

The western politicians and mouthpieces responded by attributing the increased case of young suicides to the victims’ mental and psychological problems such as pessimism, despair and melancholia; and the child poverty to the external factors such as price hike, climate crisis and epidemic disease.

This is pure humbug to disguise the reactionary and anti-people nature of the capitalist society as well as a mockery and an insult to those young unfortunates.

In the capitalist society, a handful of rich men possess great wealth and seek luxurious and gay life, while most of working people and their children are suffering from unemployment and hunger.

Moreover, the ubiquitous spread of money-almighty values and decadent way of life in the capitalist society is cramming young people down the drain of immorality and depravity.

The number of under-twenties arrested for criminal offense in Japan amounted up to 14,887 and among them, the atrocity cases, i.e. murder and robbery increased by as much as 20.7%.

A western politician lamented that all the disgraceful terms such as high tuition, low-wage labour market and dwelling crisis are associated not with socialism but with capitalism, which is the true identity of the capitalist society, despite the claims of bourgeois advocators of it being a “free and democratic society” and a “well-to-do society”.

Where is the capitalist society heading to, taking no notice of the younger generation – the very future of mankind?

The image of youngsters, already degraded into that of the “closing days of life” in their hell of a world, foretells the gloomy prospects of the capitalist society.

Construction of Another Street Launched in the DPRK

On February 25 this year there was a blasting, which signalled groundbreaking of the construction of a new street in the Sopho area at the northern gateway to Pyongyang, the capital city of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

This was another blasting, following the blasting on February 15 for groundbreaking of the construction of 10 000 flats as a second stage in the Hwasong area in the city.

According to the plan for building 50 000 flats in the city, which was put forth at the Eighth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea, the country completed in April 2022 the project for building 10 000 flats on Songhwa Street, launched in March 2021, and has nearly completed the project for building 10 000 flats as the first stage in the Hwasong area, launched in February 2022.

This year the project for building 4 100 flats in the Sopho area, the second-stage project for building 10 000 flats in the Hwasong area and the construction of the Kangdong Greenhouse Farm are going on simultaneously on the construction front in the capital city.
