6th Enlarged Meeting of 8th Central Military Commission of WPK Held
Pyongyang, April 11 (KCNA) -- The 6th Enlarged Meeting of the 8th Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) which is of another great military significance was held at the office building of the WPK Central Committee on April 10 in the turning period of the development of our armed forces in which the powerful strategic measures are being carried out to expand and strengthen the war deterrent of the country in every way to cope with the escalating moves of the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet traitors to unleash a war of aggression.
Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the WPK, chairman of the Central Military Commission of the WPK and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, guided the enlarged meeting.
Present at the meeting were major members of the Central Military Commission of the WPK and commanding officers of the large combined units of the Korean People's Army on the front.
The enlarged meeting clearly understood the serious present security situation in the Korean Peninsula that the aggressive military policy and actions of the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet traitors are emerging as a threatening entity, and discussed important military issues arising in making the country's defence capacity and war preparations more perfect.
Recently the enemy openly let out even warlike words such as the "occupation of Pyongyang" and "beheading operation" and staged the frantic large-scale joint military drill simulating an all-out war against the DPRK. And they clearly showed their sinister true colors for aggression while making reckless remarks for the confrontation with the DPRK and deliberately inciting the military actions for attack.
The meeting made an in-depth analysis of the present situation in which the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet traitors are getting ever more undisguised in their moves for a war of aggression, and raised it as an indispensable requirement to make the military option of the DPRK clearer and make thoroughgoing preparations for switching to powerful practical action. It discussed practical matters and measures for machinery to prepare various military action proposals that no means and ways of counteraction are available to the enemy and decided on the relevant resolutions by a unanimous approbation.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un stressed the need to expand the DPRK's war deterrence being strengthened with increasing speed on a more practical and offensive and to effectively apply it as a measure for more strict control and management of the ever-worsening security on the Korean peninsula.
Learning about the plan for offensive operation on the front and various combat documents, he clarified the principled issues arising in constantly studying and implementing the military measures to steadily update and perfect the war capabilities of the army.
The military measures discussed at the Sixth Enlarged Meeting of the Eighth Central Military Commission of the WPK serve as an epochal occasion as they made another great stride in the course of bolstering up the armed forces to further clarify the stand of the WPK and the DPRK government on the enemy moves for igniting a war and to enhance the strong defence capability and overwhelming offensive force.
Rachmawati Sukarnoputri, a daughter of Indonesian President Sukarno, wrote in her memoirs: My father Sukarno respected President Kim Il Sung of the DPRK; if you want to know about my father, please know first about President Kim Il Sung, his best friend; this is my answer and my “discovery.”
While searching for a path for his country to take after it won its independence from colonialists, Sukarno came to hear about Kim Il Sung (1912-1994). Having created the Juche idea, the guiding ideology of the era of independence, and defeated two formidable imperialist forces, Kim Il Sung established the first socialist state in the East and was building his country with small territory and population into a fully independent and sovereign state free from any political and economic subjugation to others.
The first GANEPO (sports games of developing countries) held in Indonesia in November 1963 at the proposal of Sukarno marked an occasion in which he and Kim Il Sung forged their friendship and their countries deepened their mutual friendly relations. Deeply aware of the position and importance of the games in cementing friendship and unity among the people in Asian, African and Latin American countries and in their common struggle against imperialism, Kim Il Sung paid close attention to their preparations and sent a kind message to Sukarno in the run-up to their start.
Sukarno visited the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in November 1964. Kim Il Sung personally came to the airport to welcome him.
At the talks that followed he clarified the way ahead of the anti-imperialist, anti-colonial and non-aligned movement and called upon his guest to join efforts for the strengthening of the anti-imperialist independent force.
Witnessing, during his stay in the DPRK, the development and economic successes it had achieved in the spirit of self-reliance under the leadership of Kim Il Sung, he was deeply impressed and realized that his country, too, should move towards building a self-supporting economy.
Attracted by Kim Il Sung who treated him as an old friend, he asked him to visit his country.
Kim Il Sung accepted his sincere request. His visit was slated to be made on the occasion of the celebrations of the tenth anniversary of the Bandung Conference.
Unfortunately, however, Kim Il Sung contracted an illness prior to his departure for Indonesia and a complicated situation was created in southeast Asia. Officials tried to dissuade him from the visit. But he set out on the journey to Indonesia, saying that it would be inappropriate if he postponed his visit to Indonesia when President Sukarno had invited him and visited him first, so eager to meet him.
The Indonesian President accorded Kim Il Sung unprecedentedly sincere hospitality during his visit to his country in April 1965.
He personally handled all security work for his guest and arranged grand welcoming ceremonies to honour him. He even invited him to a session of the Provisional People’s Consultative Assembly of Indonesia to which none of heads of foreign states had been invited. And he ensured that the Order of the Republic of Indonesia 1st Class was conferred upon Kim Il Sung. When he took his guest to Bogor botanical garden boasting its history spanning more than a hundred years, Sukarno showed him a rare orchid bred by the garden through hard work of scores of years and told him that he would like to name the flower Kimilsungia.
In October 1965 Indonesia was plunged into a political upheaval. Sukarno was shorn of all power and remanded in custody. Even his former friends shunned him. But Kim Il Sung remained faithful to his friendship with and obligation to him.
In August 1968 he arranged for the DPRK ambassador in Indonesia to visit him and console him. And in 1970 when Sukarno was spending his remaining days in hospital, his condition having turned for the worse, Kim Il Sung sent the DPRK ambassador to visit and comfort him.
Recollecting his meetings and friendship with Kim Il Sung, Sukarno said that President Kim Il Sung was the greatest and most outstanding man filled with warm humanity and that the world had never witnessed such a great man as him.
U.S. Teetering On Edge of Collapse
Recently, American journal “Washington Examiner” carried an article to the effect that the abandonment of collectivism by the citizens who care only for themselves, paying little heed to the destiny of the country, was the main reason that brought the collapse of the past empires like Roman Empire and Athens. It continued as follows:
Today, economic stagnation, political unease and cultural ambiguity prevail in the United States.
In fact, the only feature common to all Americans is individualism and the terms like diligence and innovation have become the object of curse and public contempt. Many Americans have already given away the values that serve as foundation of the society.
Americans keep each other at arm’s length and no longer feel attached to their own country. They do not even think that they can revive their once-powerful country.
In America, cases of mental depression, uneasiness and drug addiction are on the increase as the years go by.
It can be well said that the above facts revealed the true picture of the U.S. in its entirety – the country on the precipice of collapse.
The pace of economic development is slowing down in the U.S., the inflation rate is still on the increase and the substantial income is on the decrease. Subsequently, Americans are faced with ever-worsening difficulties in their lives.
To make things worse, the “bank phobia” triggered by the bankruptcy of Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank is adding anxiety and pessimism to the troubled American hearts.
More than 180 American banks are categorized as vulnerable as the insolvent two banks once had been, giving rise to voices of anxiety, fear and concern lest a new financial crisis be imminent. Nevertheless, the Democratic Party and the Republican Party are on a fierce partisan strife to shift the responsibility on to each other.
When it comes to the partisan interests, they would bite each other and fight each other to death; they only pursue their party interests at the cost of the interests of popular masses – this is the political picture of the U.S., a wild lawless theatre of political rampage.
Extreme individualism and money-is-almighty principle prevail in the U.S.; phenomena like parents striking their own children, teachers assaulting the students and the police hitting citizens and even killing them are becoming commonplaces there, and all these are born out of dissatisfaction with the society and misanthropy.
According to the recent data, the number of hatred crimes increased in the U.S. from 8,120 cases to 9,065 in the year 2021 compared to the previous year and the number of relevant victims increased by 11.6% reaching 2,411 people. Among them 64.5 % were reportedly the targets of ethnical or racial discrimination.
The American society where one harms others’ interests in pursuit of his own, discriminate people on the basis of skin colour and even threaten others’ lives, is truly a living hell and a barren land of human rights where the dignity of mankind is wantonly trampled underfoot.
In the U.S. more than 40% of teenagers have already given up their hope for the future and lost the vigor of life in pessimism and despair, and 20% of them are considering suicide. This reality is foretelling where the U.S. is heading for.
It is only a matter of time that the United States, prevailing with mental and moral degeneration, misanthropy and criminal acts of all hues, collapses.
Test of a New-type of Underwater Attack Weapon System Conducted in the DPRK
The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea conducted a new type of underwater attack weapon system from March 21 to 23. Anunmanned underwater nuclear assaultboat, which was launched for a drill in the waters off Riwon County, South Hamgyong Province, on the 21st, reached the target point in the waters in the Hongwon Bay set as a mock enemy port on the afternoon of the 23rd after cruising along an oval and pattern-8 course at an underwater depth of 80 to 150 metres for 59 hours and 12 minutes in the East Sea of Korea, and its test warhead exploded underwater.
This secret weapon which the country’s defence science research institute has developedasan underwater strategic nuclear attack weapon system since 2012 was named Unmanned Underwater Nuclear AssaultBoat “Haeil” at the Eighth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea.
Its mission is to stealthily infiltrate into operational waters and make a super-powerful radioactive tsunami through underwater explosion to destroy warship groups and major operational ports of the enemy.
This weapon can be deployed at any coast and port or towed by a surface ship for operation.
